  1. I dont know for sure, but i do know of a few guys that changed their MK1 bucket assy to a MK2 in order to push the light farther forward to get more light on the road. SO, it should be able to be reversed and should work, at least in theory. brian
  2. I will double check with Janne the next time I see him online but I understand it to be a mk2. i would think you will have to remve the headlight assy and mount the adapter plate somehow. With the MK1 just just remove the headlight and drill holes in the headlight retainer ring and mount the adapter plate to that. Brian
  3. I cant speak for this exact setup, but I know that Snaggletooth checked on the heat with his similar set up and his was fine. He used the original cover and headlight trim with his MK1 Brian
  4. see if I can post a pic of Jannes scoot here.
  5. I was chatting with the venture owner Janne jurvelin and he had a pic of his Mk2 scoot with 2 projector bulbs where the original square oem headlight would go, i asked him about it and he directed me to this site that offers the projector light pods and universal mounting plates for what I thought was a pretty reasonable price. the result looks quite similar to Snaggletooth's hella light conversion, but I think it would end up a bit cheaper, and they supply the mounting plate, probably eliminating some fabrication work. high beam- http://www.louis.de/_20100191f9ec6203dfd4ca1147ce400239/index.php?topic=search&searchterm=10033667&cmd.x=9&cmd.y=4 low beam- http://www.louis.de/_20100191f9ec6203dfd4ca1147ce400239/index.php?topic=search&searchterm=10033666&cmd.x=3&cmd.y=7 universal mounting plate- http://www.louis.de/_20100191f9ec6203dfd4ca1147ce400239/index.php?topic=search&searchterm=10020904&cmd.x=7&cmd.y=10 I have never dealt with this company and havnt done this install I am just posting this info as most of us G1 owners are always looking for better ways to see the road. so please dont ask me how to do it as I havnt done it myself. brian [Janne Jurvelin info- Parts from www.louis.de Part no.10033667, 10033666 and 10020904. 6. I would have to say its already too late for that............ Brian
  7. i dont know much about visors, but I use my HJC helmet with a clear visor on the outside and it also has the internal flipdown sunshade that really elimnates the need to stop and change to sunglasses. just a flip of a button and its up or down. In hot or warm weather i leave the clear shield up and just run with the sunshade and its quite cool that way. Brian aaahhh I see marcarl beat me to it....lol! Here is a link to the one I have, http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/38/10622/ITEM/HJC-FS-10-Solid-Helmet.aspx

  15. Well I dont know about that, but I do know that all the talk rubbing it in that they ride year round is all just talk....lol! if I hear that this winter, I will have to remind them of this summer when anyone south of the Dakotas is having an issue with riding because of the heat!!! I think theyve lost as much riding time to the heat as I lose to the cold. Brian
  16. there really isnt anyone that I am aware of that can repair the tci from the 83-93 bikes. You best solution at this point might be to look for one on ebay, keeping in mind that the 83's are unique, and wont work with your bike. Look in this forum and you will see that there are some memebers looking at doing a group purchase to order a new style programmable TCI from a company called ignitech. they do seem to work well, but do require a small amount of mod work to get best performance. Brian
  17. just click on community and then it will open up and it should show you the members as well as organize it into states and provinces. Brian

  21. Have a fantastic Day!!!!! you deserve to have a great 29th birthday................ again! Brian
  22. As I understand it, the frame issue is something that can be failry easily reinforced and I think ive read that Yamaha did a recall to try and fix that issue. But if its already broken it could lead to big issues quickly. However,I am not aware of it happening all that often on the ventures, but I thought it should be something you should be aware of. I am not aware of any way to lower these bikes except by doing things like shaving the seat and lowering the air suspension all the way. Brian
  23. Well next time youre thinking about going to a rally let me know, it would be good to have another rider coming out of sask. that would make 3 bikes...lol! Brian
  24. you probably have another 100,000 miles in that engine according to what Ive seen with these things they just go one forever. If you check in classifieds in here i think Skydoc is selling various things to help us keep our old bikes on the road, i am pretty sure he handles progressives. MiCarl is another memeber that runs a bike repair shop that could probably help you get parts and he is in Michigan if your close to there. brian
  25. well it may be a good bike, most ventures at that age are stilll good bikes, but I would have to question why he would be selling quickly, it sounds a bit off. At 5ft7 I would think you may have trouble riding this bike as it sits real tall and I dont think there is any way of lowering it after the air is out of the shocks. Use the class system on the lower right of the panel with the key set at acc NOT with the engine running or all the way on, and let all the air out of the front and rear shocks. If it doesnt work its another fix to do. i Am 6ft and at some intersections i have to tiptoe the bike. A couple of things to check on the 83's are frame breaking just above the center stand, and 2nd gear will let go frequently by about 40k miles, so a ride is necessary to get it up to about 20 mph get 2nd gear and accelerate hard to see if it pops out. Good luck with your search for a good machine. Brian
