Replacement Antenna
Marcarl replied to distancerider's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Looks like someone got the antennas mixed up. I would do the Marshal Mod, or go to a local CB dealer\fixer, and get something that will work well and look good. -
I'm sure that the 'Motor' you got in there now wouldn't be called a power plant by any stretch of the imagination. It's probably down to one worn out piston, haphazard starter, no spark in the plug, and in need of a new re-coil. Doubt if a TCI is available, or any of the other necessary electronics of that vintage. No wonder the blonde didn't show up to take videos. She's probably careful with her camera.

Probably had to ban them for the noise factor, tooo many revving engines with all those tight, close knit buildings, probably driving people nuts. Can't see why you need to go to the old city,,,, I've never been there and I'm quite healthy without the experience, I also have not run out of other pleasant places to go and see. JMO Carl

Got up this morning,,,,,, looked down and seen mother earth,,,,,,,yep,, that put me on top of the world,,,,,, but then I thought of those who might be looking at my feet,,, and I right away thought of Annie..............

Bummer when your ball and rod snap off!!!! Best of luck with the rest of the place, I was going to offer to come over and help, but now you're going to Bob and Becky's and I wasn't invited,,,,, oh well, I got lots to here anyways, and I'm not much good when it comes to measuring things.

Just a lesson here that I learned from an oldtimer, and probably has some value,, guess it depends on how you look at things, and sometimes perspective is what is needed: Everything is a HE, except the old Tom Cat,,,,,,,,,, and,,,,,, that's a SHE

Bad Boy Horn - Am I missing something???
Marcarl replied to elmicko's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
You need to add all those numbers together, then divide by 24 and you'll come up with the number that matches the voltage that it takes to run those horns,,,,,, you don't know that??????? -
Check to make sure that all the choke pistons go all the way back when you push the button back in. Could also be a bit of dirt in the carb, so try the SeaFoam treatment.

I always have Magic Wrap in my toolboxes, on my scoot, or in the house or shop. Works wonderfully, but it's not cheap, about $8.00 a roll at Home Hardware. Princess Auto also sells it, cheaper, but in a smaller roll. Wizard765 was in the US a while ago, and bought me some of that Mighty Fix-it stuff,,, not even close to performing the same,, worked for some stuff, but I'll stick with MW, does what it says it will. http://www.glasgowmfg.com/pages/magicwrap.html

Ya but look at the leg room,,,,now what's more important,,,,, and if it gets stuck it ain't so hard to push out,,,,,,, 'course it would take The Squid all afternoon to balance the carbs.

You showed us all the bad parts, but not the good parts,,, the good parts are worth the money if you break it up to sell. If you want to ride it,,, it looks fixable to me, but will cost about $1500 on parts on ebay if you get lucky. Just my guess.

So did you get an engine, or do I have to make you a deal?????
-
Better idea,,,, why not pick out the model you want, then order it to be delivered in the US or Canada, pick it up here, and then ship it to Aussie land when you go back. It may be a headache, but it would save the shipping to Australia in the first place, and you could have it here for the start of your stay.

So much for group riding!!!!!! after you get bit in the butt, you might find it kind of difficult to rear end your behind!!

Nice 85,,, they're rare!!!!!!

It just won't load for me,,, keeps going back to the start or something,,,, must be close to a second gen, 1st gens would go all the way.

We're here to help you along, we don't plan on quitting, so we don't expect you to either,,,,, and don't worry about the bike thing, let it sit, you just never know,,, sometimes God lets things happen, just to let us know that we don't have a handle on everything just yet, He did that years ago at Bable, and I wouldn't put it past Him to do that more often. Just put yourself and your missus in His hands, and all will be well, maybe not the way you think it should be, but well nonetheless. Oh and, lots of folks show up here and there in cages,,,, don't know why exactly, but they do, so you have permission to do that as well.

Looks real good with that face behind it,,,,,,, it actually fits,,,,, wow it's big!!!!!!

There is evil in the gift, take my word for it,,,, now that the tools are organized and locate-able, they will start disappearing on a regular basis. Before,,,,,,she wasn't able to find what she was looking for,,,,, but now???????

83 frame winter project
Marcarl replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Now I need a reminder, is this an 83 only issue, or does it extend to the 84 and 85 as well? -
Had our daughter Andrea and our youngest daughter Allison, try out the bed this weekend,,, they say it works great, except for the noise coming from next door,,,,, something about my sound sleeping I think, but don't worry, it doesn't bother me a bit!!!
