Many folks say that Trikes are much more stable than a scoot. For the ones I have driven I would say that it takes a whole new riding technique and awareness of the Trike's capabilities that the rider needs to develop. Failure to develop proper riding technique will eventually catch up to the rider and the end result can be disaster. papa smurf...... good thoughts and prayers for your friend to recover quickly from this mishap!

Ok You old Timers who been asking How I have been
BoomerCPO replied to E-Fishin-C's topic in Watering Hole
Glad to hear you are well and kicking.....errrrr......fishing! -
I'm not a tire expert by any means but I certainly have read enough to convince me the load rating is certainly a factor in the failure of these Metzlers. Our Ventures are heavy bikes as is; and when you add 2 large people to the bike plus filling all the cargo areas as well it does not take a rocket scientist to see disaster in the making. Metzler's customer response is pitiful in that they put the blame on improper tire pressure and leave the consumer twisting in the wind. I'm happy to say they will never see a cent of my money. Nuff said.

F4Customs Windshield
BoomerCPO replied to Freebird's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Thanks for the heads up on this new product Don. May I suggest that you keep the shield long enough for them to forget about you.....and ship that sucker to me? -
Check yer e-mail.............

Do you have the bracket for the Stebel Air Horn that will fit my 06 Midnight Venture? If so please PM me as to method of payment for the bracket. Much thanks...........Boomer

I would just look at it as a lightweight buddy.....and keep riding!

Had that very problem with my lever as well. My fix was to install the leather lace up covers for both the clutch and brake levers. Got em from JC Whitney for less than $20 and they are holding up very well. No hand slippage as you may experience with chromed levers I might add.

Saddlebag Quick Removal Bolt Set
BoomerCPO replied to Highway Star's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Today I received a set that I ordered from Hilliss..........Outstanding quality and great service!! -
Since I put the Baron's 4-2-4 Nasty Boys on my 06 RSV folks tell me they can hear me coming and going. If you truly enjoy your music on the scoot this set-up may not be for you. For me the sound of that V-4 through these pipes is the only music I enjoy on the road. Your personal preference may vary..........

I bought my Odyssey battery through Condors Group Buy here and that sucker has performed flawlessly since the day I dropped it in the scoot. Best $$$$ I have ever spent on a MC battery!

It may sound selfish but I am glad that Yamaha has dropped the ball on updating the RSV for 08 and 09! Now I can keep my 06, which I dearly love, and enjoy it until 2010. And if I don't like what I see on the RSV for 2010 oh well....I'll just keep riding and smiling.

ventureblue......I do quite a bit of meat smoking. Use the genuine hard charcoal always. Make sure you soak your wood for at least 24 hours. Use minimal draft on your smoker to reduce heat flow. Try doing a couple of whole pork loins.........pork is more forgiving than beef! Always check the meat with a meat thermometer before you remove from the smoker! Make sure your smoker is away from the house if you plan to run it overnight while you are sleeping. Relax and enjoy the learning experience!

Where is the cassette player?

Dang if I'm not jealous! My 06 is still in the Shop for repairs and it's raining here....... Enjoy the new scoot and the ride Don!!!

How about having a lawyer send the Dealer a letter stating your intent to take legal action against him? Sometimes a nudge gets better results than a hard shove IMHO.......

Those type of Runs are called "Poker Runs" here.........and I avoid riding in them like the plague regardless of the specific cause. I will stop and donate at the Registration point but that's as far as I go.

Star Motorcycle 2009 Model Intro today at 3:00 PM EST
BoomerCPO replied to jpgivens's topic in Watering Hole
Upgrades by 2010? .....that's the very year the Warranty runs out on my 06 Midnight Venture. I have to say if it all comes together in 2010 plus the BLACK color I might be tempted to buy a new one. -
Venture Saddle Bag Fastners
BoomerCPO replied to BoomerCPO's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I'm glad to hear that news! Now I feel even better about ordering the parts from him. I'm somewhat of a fanatic when it comes to keeping my bike clean and shiny. The Factory set-up on the saddlebags always aggravated the heck out of me and added extra time and effort to clean and polish. -

Butt Butler Update on Pillow Top Seats
BoomerCPO replied to Rick Butler's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have read nothing but great comments regarding Rick's mod to the RSV seats. I plan on sending my seat off to Rick as soon as I put my RSV up for the Winter. Regards............Boomer -
If you value the bike I would suggest hauling it on a trailer. Had a friend who tried hauling his Harley in a short bed truck such as yours. ......when the tailgate let go there were not enough straps to keep that bike from rolling off the bed and into the road......the bike was totaled. To save a few bucks in gas he lost a beautiful bike.
