Are you sure the left axle bearing inner sleeve is in place? They have been known to come out during tire installation. Earl- 3 replies

mm482 replied to DarkLeftArm's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I have the brackets needed to mount a first gen center stand on a second gen. I bought them from Freebird, but never used them. I will take $30.00 plus shipping. Earl -

Suspension Issue
mm482 replied to saltcreep's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My damper has been on 4 for many years. If I remember correctly there was just a small change from one setting to the next, but if you went from 1 to 4 you would be aware of the change for sure. Maybe some one will post on this that has experimented with this and can remember better than me LOL. Earl -

Suspension Issue
mm482 replied to saltcreep's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Make sure the rear shock damper control is set on #4 Make sure fork oil level is correct. I would change fork oil; you may want to try a 20W oil. Check for loose steering head bearing and loose swingarm Air pressure in shock, forks and tires Earl -

Help,fork seal problems
mm482 replied to Plains Venture's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
You probably have a small nick on the fork tube. You can use a pair of ladies panty hose to find nicks; a nick will pick the hose. If there are nicks or rust on the upper fork tube, remove any nicks with the finest sandpaper you can purchase; usually, between 600 and 1200 grit. You can place a plastic grocery bag or saran wrap over the tube and install the fork seal and wiper. This prevents any tearing of your new seals. Earl
