  1. I have not seen them, and I emaild Kuryakyn about their Dragon Wings and they dont have plans to make them for the RSV, but you might ask too...... I am VERY intrested in a set too!!!!!
  2. what was the donor bike to make that????? 48 cylinders???? 4200 cc MONSTER!!!!!!!!!! I found more photos and a video HERE!!!! Have a look!!!!!
  3. More of a show bike than a rider IMHO. It looks to be unsafe to me. Still, fun to build. Did you notice the rear, jack stand used as a kick stand???? He should have installed a second kick stand that is operated with the front kick stand. It woud be cooler if it had four or five motors on it all hooked together. Also, you MUST use the intercom to talk to your rear passanger.
  4. Click HERE to read the Carburetor icing article at Wikipedia. I cant WAIT for the 3rd Gen Venture!!!!!!!
  5. How long are you talking about??? Days or years? I MIGHT have room in my shed. I live in King Geroge VA, about a two hour drive from there...
  6. I would NOT recommended lowering ANY motorcycle, except as the LAST resort. It decreases maximum lean angle, which could cause you to wreck your bike and get hurt!!!!! If you want your bike to handle better, I recommend that you learn how to make your bike do what you want it to do. this can only be accomplished by lots of practice!!!!! take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course, and get the Ride Like a Pro V DVD and PRACTICE what they have to teach!!!! Look in your owners manual to see what the minimum turn radius is..... you will be surprised!! I cannot yet turn that tight, as I have not practiced enough....yet, but I'm working on it.
  7. I served in the US Navy for 20 Years and retired as a Chief Firecontrolman. The US Navy opened a LOT of doors for me and I learned a LOT. If it was not for what I learned during my service, I would probably be freeze-dried or dooing hard time, so it is I who should be thanking the Citizens of the US for the may opportunities they offered me. THANK YOU!!!!!
  8. I blame it on some poor decisions on what to build and market, and on the unions. At my last job, if I were to join a union I would be punished by death... The Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ) Article 81—Conspiracy Text. “Any person subject to this chapter who conspires with any other person to commit an offense under this chapter shall, if one or more of the conspirators does an act to effect the object of the conspiracy, be punished as a court-martial may direct.” Elements. (1) That the accused entered into an agreement with one or more persons to commit an offense under the code; and (2) That, while the agreement continued to exist, and while the accused remained a party to the agreement, the accused or at least one of the co-conspirators performed an overt act for the purpose of bringing about the object of the conspiracy. ART. 94. MUTINY OR SEDITION a) Any person subject to this chapter who-- (1) with intent to usurp or override lawful military authority, refuses, in concert with any other person, to obey orders or otherwise do his duty or creates any violence or disturbance is guilty of mutiny; (2) with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of lawful civil authority, creates, in concert with any other person, revolt, violence, or disturbance against that authority is guilty of sedition; (3) fails to do his utmost to prevent and suppress a mutiny or sedition being committed in his presence, or fails to take all reasonable means to inform his superior commissioned officer or commanding officer of a mutiny or sedition which he knows or has reason to believe is taking place, is guilty of a failure to suppress or report a mutiny or sedition. (b) A person who is found guilty of attempted mutiny, mutiny, sedition, or failure to suppress or report a mutiny or sedition shall be punished by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct. I now expect to be flamed! Happy Veterans Day.
  9. I REALLY like the sound of the engine on my bike, so I kept the factory installed exhaust intact!!!!!! Nothing like the music of gears meshing!!!!!!! Like a band of Angles, singing!!!!!
  10. Take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation riders course and buy a copy of Ride Like a Pro V, and the bike will feel a LOT lighter IF you practice what they teach!!!!!
  11. I use RejeX on my windshield, glasses and a snap on face shield that I keep handy for the rain. Best stuff I have ever found for plastic, glass and paint. It was originally used on military helicopter canopies and LOTS of aircraft parts!!! GREAT STUFF!!!! Read the thread HERE for more information
  12. I have not seen application data on a filter box for quite a while. I have to look up the application to find the filter that fits. But I have not looked at a lot of different boxes in a while, as my cages both take the same filter, my RSV takes another, my riding lawn mower takes another and my 1950 H-D did not come from the factory with an oil filter, but it does have a filter holder from a later production Pan Head on it that I have to mail order as the H-D shop does not stock such old parts........... for all my engines (except the Pan Head) I use PL series filters or EAO from Amsoil, both are very high efficiency filters!!!!! Once I look up the filter, I put the number in a MS Word document at home, so I don't have to look them up anymore, just grab the printout on the way out of the house when I go to the auto parts store. Interesitng observaetion: Amsoil states that the EAOil fiters are rated at ISO 4548-12 of 98.7 percent at 15 microns Purolator states that the PrueONE fiters are rated at 99.9% ISO 4548-12 at 20 microns on PL30001 I would like to see the ISO 4548-12 rating at 20, 15, 10 and 5 microns for both lines of filters..... I bet they would be very close!!!!! but the Amsoil fiters cost about 3 times as much as the PureOne filters....
  13. How does the saying go???? One man's trash is another man's 1'st Gen. Actually it does look like a good bike for someone looking for a 1st gen.
  14. Well I just went to the Purolator web site HERE and found that the ML16817 and the ML16819 are the filters to use on the 1996-2008 SVZ1300 Royal Star. Too bad they dont list a PL series filter I guess I'll have to keep a filter that is a for my bike in the saddle bag.... just in case... Also I will probably paint the PL filter with black paint before installing....
  15. I agree, it
  16. It is a unique bike, but only a serious bike collector would pay more than Kelly Blue Book for it..... I would trade my 1950 H-D FL for it, but they would have to include a pile of cash with the RSV... sense it is NOT original from the factory as the CD changer has been added. What would that cost to remove, along with the other add-ons, to make it EXACTLY like it came from the factory?????
  17. I agree with Eddie Fulmer above with the exception that I used metric hardware. I don't remember the size, but it is really close to the #8 screws and nylon insert lock nuts that are listed..... just compare them in the hardware store and go with the metric hardware.
  18. Oh but the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act puts the responsibility of proving that the aftermarket part caused the failure onto the vehicle manufacturer... If they disapproved a warranty fix for a bad engine on teh oil or filter I used, I would be willing to take it to court. NO manufacture wants that bad press, it is cheaper to put a replacement engine in my bike than to pay some lawyers to fight the case in court.
  19. If it has frame mounted faring I am not interested. If it has fork mounted fairing, I will be selling my '07 to get it!!!!!!! I am betting that the bike will be released as a 2011 model year... this will clear all 2009s from the show rooms, and will build a little excitement, like the delay on the VMax did.
  20. Use a white lithium grease (available in a spray can at the auto parts store) or other water resistant grease.
  21. 1st go look at a lot of new cars and motorcycles to see what colors you like in the SUNLIGHT. 2nd go to the House of Kolor web site and look thur the photo album for ideas. 3rd you might look at Kolor Shift Flakes, Kamelon Opals, Kamelon Pearls or Kosmic Krome paint additives for some accents, however I think this stuff is overused on large areas.... IMHO... Your mileage may vary....etc. http://www.houseofkolor.com 4th Just paint it the way you want to, as my opinions don't necessarily fit your opinions.
  22. there is a good article on wikipedia Alcohol laws of the United States by state And a news article is HERE Here is the pertniate data
  23. Motorcycles should accelerate...... Motorcycles MUST be able to STOP!!!!!!!!
  24. Please have your dealer read The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302©)
  25. It all depends how long your legs are....... HOWEVER for Safety sake, make sure you do NOT reduce the maximum lean angle of the bike!!!!!!! Also I had to put a heli-coil into one of mine, as I stripped the threads out......
