Here are some pics to show the damaged corner. The whole top and left side have deep scratches, and the top left rear corner is scraped thru. It is just barely thru in a couple of spots along that crease but that whole crease is VERY thin and will leak water if/when it rains. It looks like maybe someone drove under something that they did not quite fit under, scraping up the top and then it came off the car an slid down the road on its left side.:doh:

The Receiver hitch is finally done, painted, and permanently mounted for the last time. That takes #2 & #11 off the list. To me at least, that is two biggies.

Sorry to hear you went down, especially to save someone else. Glad your injuries are fairly minor. And it is not just the newbies you have to watch out for. I have a friend that has been riding for 20+ years and thinks he is a great rider. But in a parking lot he duck walks the bike everywhere and his feet are always dragging any time he is below 10 mph starting or stopping. The soles of his riding boots are only good for about 5K miles. He is also afraid to lean the bike more than about 20° in a curve, he will hit the breaks in the middle of a curve. He also feels that since I wear a helmet that I am telling the world that I do not know how to ride. These are 2 of my indicators when following a bike as to the ability of the rider. I keep my distance from him and all foot daggers.

I agree, Poor kid. And not for just the view, but what if mom had beans or kraut....... In pic 2 I would love to watch him try the MSF course.

I have been storing all of my deep cycle RV batteries on either concrete or metal for the last 20 years, not a single problem due to storage. As was mentioned the battery tray in my truck is metal. -
If it stops snowing tomorrow tomorrow I will try to post some pics of the damage.

Your passing lamps alone draw a lot more than 3 Amps.

Your pretty close to RedRider. If desperation sets in, I have done this to my bike and it is quite easy, but a longer ride.

I would really love to convert my mill to CNC 5 axis. I could then use the same controller to convert my Lathe to CNC. Second thought would be a garage so that I can still work on the bike when the weather is bad.

I have a plastic car topper to put on my HF trailer. I did not notice when I acquired it that it looks to have been crashed on one corner. There are some deep scrapes and the corner was pushed in and it rubbed thru at the crease mark. I cant complain, the price was right, which is why I did not look at it closely. I think the thing is vac formed out of ABS but I'm not certain about that. It is an off white in color and has a heavily textured surface. It is a Kartote brand. I was going to do the repair by laying up some glass cloth and epoxy on the inside, but after thinking about that, I realized that this cover is very flexible/flimsy and the glass/epoxy would not be, It will probably just crack off. Is there something flexible that I can use with the glass cloth to repair the crack. Eventually I will paint it, but that will not be for a while, at least not this year, unless I just buzz bomb it.

If it is not gone by then, I will be up in your part of the state (Ladysmith) for the 4th of July weekend. Maybe I can stop by and have a look. Don't save it for me, if its gone it is gone, my loss for waiting.

I have used this for its intended purpose and it did work well. http://media.midwayusa.com/productimages/large/222/222645.jpg In my guns I notice an increase in muzzle velocity and reduced peak pressure with the moly coated bullets. Never tried it for any other purpose. But now I might.

I grew up as that "different" kid through school. Never fit in with the crowd, did not have the coordination to play any sports, looked funny, etc. I never had any special medical or physiological help. Look at how I turned out.

Will this new truck at least be capable of pulling that MC trailer ALL the way to the left coast? Glad your getting better.

That looks like a LONG way back to have that much load hanging. I don't think I would trust it for anything more than very short distance emergency use. Just to many disclaimers in the ad.

I wonder how many that you were seeing were people getting out of motorcycling. Now with the gas prices skyrocketing more people are keeping their bikes. Talked to a local stealer and he said that there are loads of bikes crawling out of storage that have been stored for many years and the owners want them running. Same thing happened last time gas hit $4.

Obviously, That is a brandy keg. Once you get out of Wisconsin, brandy can be hard to find......
