Annie & Al it's been our pleasure to have met & rode with you guys several times over the summer while you were here stateside. Believe me I'm sure I won't forget those experiences and I'm willing to bet neither will you. I've gone to as many M&E's and rallies as I could meeting folks from the site here over the years but I think you guys have managed to do that is a short few months. LOL Anyhow is was great to having made your acquaintance after chatting with you here on the site. Enjoy what time you have left here and be safe doing so till you get home. Larry & Joyce

We could be enticed to trip with you guys too. Depends on when cause we're heading to the St Jude rally the 1st weekend of Oct. We're not fans of the casinos either but we'd go just for the ride and friendship. Larry

It would still be a good idea to add stiffeners to the outside screws. Larry -
Sure hope so. hate to see them 1st gen snow covered again Larry

That was pretty much normal when I had the bike on 2 wheels. Now that I've triked it the bike sits more level, at least with my Tri-Wing kit, so now I find that my gage will go down to 1 bar before the trip meter starts counting down the miles. Usually that's at about 150 miles. In fact it's on that mark right now so once weather here clears enough to go for a ride I intend to fill the tank to see just how much is actually left in it. Most times I chicken out at 2 bars and start looking for a station. Larry

I'm going to be busy in that garage this winter..... What garage? Larry

alwrmcusn listen to KJ. He's spot on with his info. I get a consistant 35 mpg, sometimes a bit more, but never more then 37-38 on my trike. Better RUN fast away from that idiot cause he sure don't know what he's talking about. At least to the RSV's, but surely wouldn't trust anything he'd say about trikes & conversions. Here in Michigan we end up parking the bikes for 4-5 months during winters. Never had a problem yet with fuel in either tank. I do add in some fuel stablizer just before the last ride so it gets into the carbs. Larry

No problems here and I've been in & out of the site dozens of times since you announced the upgrade. Hope it stays that way too. Larry

If you want to make life easy doing the install I have a plug & play wiring harness & stainless steel horn bracket available. Here's a link to them - http://www.venturerider.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=202 Larry

Besides what's already been mentioned improperly adjusted clutch & brake levers can trip the cruise control off as well. I would check the freeplay in the cables 1st then, the levers. Larry

My vote is for whatever is easiest for Don to implement into the system. Would there be a way to use the old system yet have a "stickie" for the member vendors like myself at the top that didn't expire? Larry

My thought on repositioning the tire as well. I had run some Dynabeads in my bike and had bad results on the rear car tires. After taking the beads out and doing a conventional wheelweight balance job they were good to go. Still have the beads in the front tire and haven't decided if I'll use them again on my next tire change or not. Larry

Lake Superior Circle Tour (counter-clockwise)
Carbon_One replied to Prairiehammer's topic in Watering Hole
Awesome trip and one that's on my bucket list of rides to do. It's the only lake circle trip I haven't done yet. When did you go and other then running into some rain what sort of temps did you encounter for the most part? Larry -
Before buttoning up check that white plug behind the ceter coverin front of the battery. That plug gets pretty dirty and can cause charging failures when it gets burnt/hot. Larry

could use a few prayers.

Sorry to hear this news. I do hope the Docs can find and fix the problems you are having without much trouble. I'll keep you in thoughts and prayers as long as needed. Larry -

That's one nice 1st gen you have there. Enjoy the ride. Larry -
I was about to post the same thing. Generally the International Rally is either the 1st or 2nd week of July. If the IR is the 2nd week like it was this year going to Charlies may be a deal breaker for me depending on where the next Int. rally is held at. Just a thought here and I'm sure we'll work out a time to getr done. Larry

"I never take anything for granted in life. And I'm glad Mike and I found the site. "quote" The site is all the richer for folks like you who do step up and offer whatever they can in the way of help. Be it a word of encouragement or some physical thing like you guys did with Tom. Either visiting him in the hospital or getting his stuff home for him. Thanks to all who do their part no matter how small or big it ends up being when we have a member in need. Larry

We'll keep an eye on ya. Be safe & enjoy your trip. Larry
