  1. I am not sure yet, my wife has not tried them out. Both kids have had a chance to take a ride with them and they both like them, though I did not bother to pay attention to how their arms sat on them. If you got to my picture gallery you will several pics of my daughter on the bike this past weekend after I put the armrests on.
  2. The Kisan pathblazer is the one I have for my 2nd gen. Plug n play and very effective. Check out custom dynamics, they have about the best price going. http://www.customdynamics.com/kisan_pathblazer_headlight_modulator.htm
  3. I just got the armrests from another member and installed them on my bike 2 weeks ago. The drilling is not abig deal, but 1 note: make sure you have a sharp drll bit. I installed the first side and had to use 2 bits, 1 sizevto start the hole and then a larger to get it to the right size. It finally dawned on me :bang head:that maybe my bit was dull, so I went up the the HW store and got a new bit. The 2nd side was done in 5 minutes. BTW, if you have the right drill, there is no need to remove the saddlebags to complete the install.
  4. Sorry, just realized that some of those pics are not very good:bang head: Here are a few more that are a little better.
  5. Check out Custome Dynamics, they have a good selection of LED light bars for the rear end. I have the Knight Rider sequential light bar and the Ultra LED light bar, both can be found on this page http://www.customdynamics.com/Light_bars.htm They also have many other good choices that can be used. I have found that this is a tremendous improvement over the stock lighting. I think I got both for about $55 and they are pretty easy to install. I have included a few pics of them mounted on my bike below.
  6. I want to turn my rear turn signals into running and brakes lights also. I have searched the threads here and have seen information on installing several available options that require splicing. I would like to install a module that is plug n play and do not want to splice if at all possible. I have found these 2 modules(http://www.kuryakyn.com/products.asp?bn=metric&ci=3861) from kuryakyn. They are labeled to fit different years of the V & Road Stars, but seems to me that 1 of them ought to work on the 2nd gen. Has anybody used 1 of these modules? Does anyone have a picture of the wiring harness for the rear lights on a V or Road Star?

    horn

The Stebel chrome air horn will fit in the stock location and is plenty loud. Here is a link to the one I got http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&category=34284&_trkparms=algo%3DMESSL%26its%3D%26itu%3DSS%252BSI%26otn%3D25%26po%3DOp1&viewitem=&item=330208568357&_trksid=p3984.m106 This is a fair price and they include all the eletrical wires and fittings that you need to install. Carbon One sells a mounting bracket for this horn, or you can get an L bracket from Home Depot and that will work also.
  8. I got out Sat for a caouple of hours to ride with Baxter. Though short I took my daughter for a ride this evening. We needed to test out how she fit in with the new backrest and armrests. She can finally sit back and relax on the bike instead of being belted to me.
  9. We have some truly stupid politicians in the General Assemly here in VA. We can't get them to change the law to allow motorcycles to proceed through red lights after sitting at them for hours on end. ( Not that this is always a good idea, but sometimes is necessary)
  10. Is that a piggy backer or another make of trailer? Your trailer looks a little different (and nicer) that the piggy backer thats listed on e-bay.
  11. We ICED our phones about 2 years ago when I 1st heard of this. This is a great ides, you just never now when you may need to have an emergency contact available. Another idea is to list multiple ICE's in the order that you want them called (ex. ICE1-wife, ICE2-brother, etc).
  12. Some how I missed the hitch on my 1st view. I would like to get that also, been planning on ordering one anyway.
  13. Does the back rest fold forward for the passenger and is it adjustable? If so, I would like to get that from you. Just let me know.
  14. Thank you. I think I might try this approach first and see how they like it.
  15. Thanks, found some that will work at these links.
  16. Where did you find them on ebay? I am not having any luck finding them there.
  17. Can you provide some more pics? I would like to see what it looks from the other side also. I have been thinking about doing the same thing. What did you use to mount the holder on the armrest? My son and wife both have to hook up before they get on because they can't ever seem to find the connector once seated on the bike.
  18. Thanks guys, I am going to build one in the next month or two and am still trying to decide how I want to set it up.
  19. Bob, can you provide more info on how you built your trailer. I am getting ready to build a trailer using teh HF kit and am looking for ideas too. Margaret (or Jeff), what are the dimension of the car top carrier that you have on your trailer. I have been looking at the same one from sears and still trying to decide on the carrier part. Also, how did you fashion and mount the cooler rack. That would be nice to have also.
  20. Now that's funny:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
  21. :clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2: Now that is funny
  22. Just got home from the in-laws, long rainy trip.....needed to toothpicks to stay awake, but we all made it home safe anyway. Great to see everyone and make some new friends. Jeff, thanks for the shirts, they look great.
  23. I agree with everyone else, VISTA sucks. Truth be told I would rather run XP, but have been to lazy to figure out how to install it on this laptop. I have had several problems, but nothing I have not been able to figure out pretty quick. You need to boost your memory, they say that 1 Gig is a minimun and it really is. Your system will run slow on that amount. The best way (and cheapest) to upgrade the memory is to get a 2Gig to 4 Gig flash drive and use the Readyboost function in Vista. Since I added another 3Gigs of memeory, my machine is much much better. You can get a flash drive for pretty cheap on sale at radio shack. I just paid $29 for a 4 gig and you could get a 2 gig for $20.
  24. Both of my kids ride with me. You can see my 4 year old in the attached pics. If you look at Bobbie's pics of the SC meet & eat, you will see my son, 8, having a great time with the group. He rode 6 1/2 hours down with me in the rain. He is a true 'venturerider' in training.
  25. The only way I had a chance in the contest was with a head start :rotfl::rotfl: Next M& E we'll have to get Jeff and Gene in on it, then we'll have a serious contest:stirthepot:
