  1. Muffinman wasn't in this contest. Blackjack was hands down the winner, he even woke me up:stirthepot:
  2. Baxter and I made it home at 4:00, uneventful trip, though it was a bit windy. Thank you Bobbie and George for all your hospitality, we had a great weekend.:cool10: The pies were great and so was the company. Sorry I crashed out early last night, but someone had a get a headstart on the snoring:rotfl::rotfl: See everyone soon.
  3. I should clarify that it was a pick up truck that he was pulling over, not a tractor trailer. He came home today and is slowly getting better. He will be out of work for a little while though, thanks god for sick time and disability. BTW he was riding a road king, though the VSP also uses BMW's. I will pass on all the well wishes from the group, Thank you.
  4. The truck driver received several traffic citations at the scene, but once the investigation is complete he may be receving additional charges.
  5. OK, I was wondering where it went. It was there and then when I typed my reply it was gone.........poof. I edited my response since it disappeared, but thought that my response was rather diplomatic all things considered.
  6. OK where did the post go that I was replying too? Now I am confused.
  7. A frined of mine who is a VA State Trooper was involved in a crash today while on duty. He was attempting to pull over a truck that was traveling 85 in a 55 zone, when the truck driver slammed on the brakes. He locked up his brakes and hit the rear of the truck at 60mph. He was pinned beteween his bike and the guardrail. He was taken to the local hospital and is very lucky to be alive. Actually, he made out well considering the severity of the accident. He has a bruised femur and pelvis. He has a broken jaw and some cuts and bruising on the face, but is expected to be released form the hospital late tonight or in the morning. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
  8. I though of that mounting idea for the big bar also, but to be perfectly honest I am impatient and did not want to wait to go the store the next day to work something out.
  9. Unfortunatley I had to got to the in-laws this weekend. It looks like you guys had way tooooooooooooo much fun this weekend.:cool10: Wish I could have been there, but I can't wait to see Jeff in his new riding 'outfit'.:rotfl::rotfl:
  10. George, I have my set I took off my bike that you can have as well. I took them off a coule weeks ago and have them sitting in the garage. just let me know.
  11. Ditto, I work for an SO and would advise wearing a suit, at a minimum a tie. They want to see than you can clean up when needed. As stated before, don't lie about anything, tell the truth (but don't volunteer too much either). Most of all GOOD LUCK!
  12. Good idea Gene. Could we get a few more pics .
  13. It was easier than trying to go throuth the fender into the wheel well.
  14. Yes I do have a LED light board in the stock tailight with a clear cover. The install for the light bars was pretty easy. First I spliced into the lighting wires that come out of pigtail under the drivers seat and ran a tail, brake, and nuetral wire under the seats and trunk in some wire tubing. Once I had the right wires at the back of the bike I wired the Ultra LED light bar first, real simple with 3 wire nuts. I mounted this light bar under the trunk between some notches in the trunk rack(the one that the trunks sits on). It takes a little wiggling and angling, but it fits right on in tightly. You will have to cut the rubber cover that covers part of the trunk rack and fit around the light bar. It sits in there so snug that I did not secure it with any thing. I wasn't sure it would stay, but I have put 3k miles on it since I put it on, and this thing does not budge. Next I loosened the license plate and ran the wires for the knight rider above the reflector and between the license plate and the plate holder. I ran the wires behind the license plate and tied them into the prior wire nuts. Using the 3M tape on the back of the light bar I attached it to the top of the reflector and the bottom of the license plate. Once attached I pulled the slack out the wire from behind the plate and retightened the license plate. I tucked all th wires neatly up under the trunk and you cannot see any of the wires unless you put your head up under the trunk I attached a couple of pics that should help you give you a visual.
  15. Wow, what a drive way. Welcome to the club, I have renewed by membership lately.
  16. Here are some pics finally.
  17. I don't think you go wrong with either one, but the sequential is definatley and eye catcher.
  18. I got the sequential, sorry no photos yet, this week has been hell at work. I did a ride last weekend and a friend of mine told me that he now hates riding in front and behind me because of the knight rider light and my new headlight modulator. He said it was annoying, but that it really gets attention. Since I have installed both of these items I have noticed a lot more cagers staring at my bike.
  19. These will not work on the saddlebags. i mounted the ultra led light bar under the trunk, no drill or even bolt install. I mounted the knight rider at the bottum of the license plate so it actually connects (w/ 3m tape) to the plate and the refelctor. Check out http://www.customdynamics.com/index.htm , they have lots of good choices for led lights than many members use. They have several good choices for mounting on the saddlebags. They are reasonably priced, ship very quickly, and are a nice small company out if NC. I will try to take some pics and post then in the next day or so.
  20. I added 2 light bars to the rear of my 07 RSV and it is much brighter and more visible now. I added the knight rider light bar and the ultra led light bar from custom dynamics. they wire up easy and have relatively easy installs. check out their site: http://www.customdynamics.com/index.htm
  21. I just took mine off, they serve no purpose. They come off in about 5 seconds with fishing line, but be prepared to spend 45 minutes getting the adhesive off with wd-40. The bikes looks better now that they are off.
  22. How did you cut the windshield? :think:Why did you choose this method over getting a new windshield? :think:Just wondering because I am thinking of replacing my stock windshield.
