Today a couple buddies invited me to do a nice ride up in the north central part of PA - which I did. We were two up - other 3 one up - a sportster, BMW something or other and ST1100. I guess I am wussy, but hitting a mountain twisty at 125 mph (the ST1100) is not my style of riding at all. I did not even want to keep up. I hated to make them wait somewhere for me, but that kind of riding is not for me thank you very much. Plus I was not getting set up right for the curves anyhow today, must be a Zen thing. So. I took my time. Now - I think this will be my last ride with these guys, even though I like them a lot. What do you think?

Greetings guys. Now here is a problem that I can not solve but therefore hope you can give me some advice. I have a Royal Star Tour Classic II 1998 and am just itching to grease my final drive, as well as doing some mods in the back with the rim off. I have the motorcycle lift so I am good to go except I don´t have a lift frame adapter. I know that Carbon One makes these adapters for the Venture and the newer Tour Deluxe models but not for the older Stars. Is there anybody out there that knows where I can get one made for my bike? How do you guys with these older models do this? Wooden blocks is the last choice but I would rather not go that path. Like to have the things I need for my bike and want to play things safe so to speak. Sincerely hope that you guys can give me some advice on this so I wont have to wheel my queen to the repair shop for a simple task of final drive greasing.

I know I'm new here and fairly new to the two wheel world, but it is awesome how when I had a problem, you guys all spoke up and helped. Thanks to Capt'n Murph for a reservoir. Thanks for all the tips you guys have posted. I highly recommend a Mityvac for anyone who doesn't own one, and a turkey baster to put in your reservoir when bleeding your brakes. its time to chang the oil in my 06 RSV which i bought used the dealler said that the bike had Yamaha Lube in it when i bought so should i put that back in it or not. i also hear guys talking about putting sea foam in it right before i change the oil will that help me or hurt me by doing so? thanks

just wanted to let all know that the royal riders are having a wv rally in the cannan valley area. i post it in the rally forum under other club rallies. several of the guys at asheville rally was wanting to come, and all are welcome to come by and meet, eat, ride and talk about bikes.

What are you guys thinking the best idle speed is for the '85 VR. 800 just seems a bit high to me. How 'bout it? -
I am about to get new tires on my 06 and was wondering if there is anything I should know about recommended size and actual size. What the dealer recommends is one thing but you guys are the fully qualified testers. I have read that some used a smaller tire in the front for handling. What size should I use front? And back? Thanks

Bought a rear metzler for my 2005 tour deluxe in march of 07. 15 mos. and 10,000 miles later I have found a split between the tread. I had reservations about buying a metzler because of the comments I had read on this forum about it. I figured I would go ahead and buy one anyway knowing that I would always keep it at the metzler recommended tire press.(46-48 two up). What a piece of s... tire. I should have listened to you guys. Oh well I always learn things the hard way Leaving on a 2 week west coast trip sept.7th. glad it happened now!

Ok guys got tank cleaned out of my 84 with seafoam and i was able to get the 2 left bowls to drain added fresh gas and got no fire. I checked sparkplugs to see if i had fire and nope not there either. Starter turns over fine no dragging. I want to note that i have no display in neutral all the bells and whistles work in 1st and 2nd but nothing in neutral I am wondering if this may be my problem. Any help would be appreciated. I hope this doesn't sound too stupid, here goes, I need to change the plugs in my 2005 RSV. 10k mles the 2 in the back seem to be fairly easy to reach . My question is the 2 front plugs. Do you remove the brace (not sure what is called) that prevents access to these plugs? And if so what problems can that lead to. Also what plugs do you guys recommend? Thanks

Hi Guys! I thought that I would throw this out to you all on the chance that you might be able to help me out a little. My sweetie and I are spending tonight (Sunday) in Santa Fe on the way home to Utah after attending STAR Days in Rogers / Bentonville, Arkansas this past week (which was awesome by the way). As we arrived in Santa Fe this evening, I noticed that my rear brakes really need to be replaced. Unfortunately (and I hate to admit this), I don't know how to do this myself yet. But, for safety's sake, I really should have them replaced pretty quickly. They are past the indicators, are making some grinding noise, and I can feel the difference between the way they usually feel and the way they feel now. Tomorrow, we are planning on heading to Durango, Colorado, then on to Monument Valley, and then to Bryce Canyon Natl. Park before heading home to Orem, Utah. Can anyone reccomend someone along the way who might be able to do a quick, rear-brake job without taking advantage of my situation and need to have it done sooner than later? Sure, I could probably make it home okay, but I hate to take a chance right now, especially since I am riding two-up and I'm pulling a full trailer. I figure that if anyone can offer some good ideas, you guys are the ones. I'll check for replies before I turn-in for the night in a little while and in the morning before we pack-up to head out. Do you think it would be worth going from a Goldwing to a Venture? I like liquid cooled, do not like carburators, and prefer wider tires on a touring bike. Have you guys had any recurring problems with the Venture? Your suggestion and opinion are appreciated

just got a great idea for the eureka springs meet. we are going to have a day for the ladies. starting with a place of their choice to eat breakfast, followed by a day of shopping in old town eureka springs, then followed by their choice of a place to eat dinner. all the men will have to go shopping and come up with a gift for a lady and names will be drawn back at the motel during the night party on the deck. by the way i am having a hard time coming up with a t-shirt design that will be acceptable to everybody this will be for shirts and patches. give me some input. no specific model bike pictures. i already got the tough logo. venturerider eureka springs 2008 rally. give me a picture. we are going to have a drawing for the guys too. so guys bring a little something for that. i already have a few neat things i am bringing. i want this to be a great rally so any ideas will be appreciated. bill

Hey Guys, I have a big question. My Venture all of a sudden quit wanting to start. If I put the choke on it doesn't start, if I give it a little gas it tries to start, and I had it running once and it didn't want to stay running. Does anybody know what could be wrong? I took the plugs out and cleaned and adjusted them. I'm going to put some new plugs in it tomorrow and try it. I've already rode it several times in the last couple of weeks and this all of a sudden happened. I just filled the tank up with gas recently.I don't think it's bad gas. Thanks guys -

I'm thinking of catching a game at Progressive Field (didn't you guys used to call it Jacobs field?) on August 30th. I've been able to watch my Seattle Mariners in Chicago but I'd like to go to Cleveland to see a game. It's an afternoon game so it starts at 3:55 P.M. So, do any of you Northern Ohio folks want to watch a baseball game? I'd love to ride up and catch a game with some of you guys. Bob

I know theres a few of you in the Amarillo area that run some M&Es. I'm new the this web club thing, in fact, this is my first message to write. I joined last August I think, and just log on to see what everyones up to. This is an incredible family link all accross the country, RSV, RSTD, Harley, or what ever, everyones a real person.. I like you guys, and sad thing is, Most of you never knew I existed. LOL Well, I would like to join in on a M&E sometime soon, but would need to keep it near this area. Anyone planning one soon?
