  1. That's sweet,, I will take a set also,, if I am not to late! BoKeifUs.... Will be waiting!
  2. Yes, you can use them. Get you a piece of rubber hose and cut 4 pieces into 1" length. Then slit them down one side so you can slip them over the crash guards. 2 pr reflector. Then simply put your reflectors on as the reflector will now clamp onto the hose, and the hose will clamp onto the rail when you tighten the screws. i think its like 1" water hose line from the auto section at your local auto parts store.
  3. Glad your doing ok, Get well and make the Spring M&E at Leakey!
  4. Hey Jerry, This is Keith, in Amarillo. I'd love to be there, but I will probably be heading back from lake Altis (on the bike) on saturday. If I get back early enough, I will try to pop in to see some of these nutty people. However, I will have to admit, the chance is slim.. So... I hope all you guys, and galls have fun!
  5. I will probably start on a trailer myself sometime in the near future. Did you start out with a store bought trailer kit? Very nicely done! Congrats on your hard work ! Keith
  6. That brings up another question. You said something about jetting to go along with this little project. How do you know what to do? Theres jets of all sizes, and knowing just what to use seems very complicated... I have a set of Barron Pipes already, Love um! I hade to plug the emition stuff off though. So, if I do this ignition system, anyone have any advise on jets? I know all 4 carbs take different sizes, but I havnt seen any real good advise on how to go about doing them. You guys have been a great help. I love this site! Thanks, Keith
  7. Im considering getting the Dydna 3000 ingition system for the 2nd Gen. I was wondering if anyone on this site has used one, and could pass on a little advice. 1) Do they increase H.P.? 2) Are they easy to setup to increase RPM range of the bike? Thanks, BoKeifUS
  8. Yea, What he said... That happened to me once.... hey you tricked me. Well, anyways, I pinched a wire on that stearing block, so upon fixing it, I then wraped the whole bundle of wires with black tape to prevent one single wire from getting between there, and then try to arange the wires out of the way. It worked !
  9. Wow. thats the most sellfish thing Ive ever heard of. I think Harleys are Gang related, and should be Band from people with bad attitudes... LOL Whats he afraid of, that you might out run him ? Maybe that you might get there first, because you didnt break down. Maybe that his Harley brothers (The Brotherhood) keeps jabbing at HIM about YOUR bike. Let them Jab... Run that VStar in the ground GIRL !!! Dont hold back. You've rid'n a VStar,, A Harley just wont due! Keith
  10. I haven't dropped it yet, and prey I never do. However, my close call came on a cold night. It was about 28 degrees out side, and my wife wanted me to get some milk for the kids. The store was just about 1/2 mile down the road, so I grabbed a coat, Got the bike started, and headed out the driveway, without letting her warm up. Lets just say, Thats a BIG NO NO !!!! I get down the drive way, start to turn left, and touch the throtle, and next thing I know, My chest is on top of the gas tank, my feet on the ground, and im trying with all my might to keep her from going down. They seem to just die.. when you touch her throtle on a cold wintery day..
  11. Suspence is awfull.. Its like haveing vertual ice cream. Good one though.. Congrats!!!!
  12. An awsome trade you did, but some of us are still waiting on pics!
  13. One word covers it all... SHWEET!
  14. Let me tell you a story... A good friend of mine had a bike many years ago. The helmet law went into place and he decided to sell the bike, and let his class M license go because he refused to wear a helmet. He figured "I'll show them!" Well, the helmet law only lasted a little while, and them got lifted. Around 15 years later he decided to get another bike. hehehehe,,, heres the kicker... He had to take the motorcycle test all ovr again and he was scared to death that he wouldnt pass...Good news is,, he passed, but with a great deal of stress on his part. All I can say is,, He sure showed them! Dont let other people drive you to make an irashanall decision you will regret laters!
  15. I agree with Kit, I was talking to my yamaha dealer mechanic, and asked him about changing the oil in the rear end due to a whine I was hearing. He kinda shruged hid head down and then proceeded to tell me how the gears worked. He told me everything Kit just said but added this piece of info. He asked "does your raidio work?" I said "Well yea!" he said with a smile on his face "well then turn it up!":rotf: I guess Im lucky, the whine isnt that bad at all, it comes and goes.
