    New Tires

My OEM D404s got 13,000 miles before I replaced them. And they were not to the wear bars, but began handling badly. Depends on your riding style. Anyhow, I put on E3s last year and have 13,000 plus miles. Looking at the tires, I am guessing another 5,000 before I need a new rear tire. they handle great on wet roads. Never tried the Venoms, so cannot comment on them.
  2. Send her to the pokey. File a lien against any and all property, cars, bank accounts she has. Liens can be filed without a lawyer. If you choose not to send her to jail, file the liens and look into garnishing wages (if she works). Not to be the fly in the ointment, but I will guess you probably have a 50/50 chance of getting your $$ from her. I would be more concerned with clearing your name with the IRS and saving your credit. You may even consider accepting less than the $14k just to get rid of her. Don't let her get away with ruining your name. Good luck.
  3. One of the first things I did was add the LED strip under the trunk. I also put the LED panel in the stock tail light and converted the turnsignals.
  4. LOL. That's what 500+ hours of sick leave and Hydrocodone is for.
  5. No not the RSV, my daughter's barrel horse. He had been in the pasture for 5 days with a bit of a swollen leg. It was time to get back to training. Just like a kid, he did not want to. He was acting up with my daughter so I got on him. He usually staightens up for me becuase he knows I'll put the spurs in his sides. We were standing at the end of the areana, next to the cow chutes. There is a littleshelter/pavillion area we sit and watch or take a break out of the sun. There are also 3 patio chairs there. Trying to get the horse to go one more time, he did his usual, "I'll try to go the other way." When I pulled him back, he did 3 very fast spins, throwing me off on the 3rd. I swore it was only 1 spin. I landed partially on one of the chairs. Took me about 10 minutes to get my breath and all. Got back on the horse and ran him 2 laps to let him know he was not getting away with that behavior. THEN went to the ER. One broken rib. Hurts to breath. No riding this weekend.
  6. Going to work, there is a traffic light 1/4 mile from the right hand x-way on ramp. I was firts at the light in the left lane with a mustang next to me in the right. He thought he was going to keep me from getting in front of him to hit the ramp. NOT! Once on the freeway, he roared passed me as I was doing 60mph in a 55 zone. All I could do was laugh.
  7. Great rides! I am going to try to make it Saturday. Just have to see if daughter has rodeo that day or not. Right now there is nothing planned. Don't know if you want to or not, but have you thought about putting this on the calendar? Did you talk to Super8 about group rate with 8 rooms or more? Just thoughts. Bronson
  8. Just a quick question. That extra 59 miles, is that on reserve? Depending on my riding, my light comes on at 170 to 190. Once it comes on, I have to switch to reserve about 12 to 15 miles later. If I fill up as soon as the light comes on, I normally get 4 to 4.5 gallons in the tank.
  9. Great little, friendly motel in Eagles Nest, across street from Subway. Used to know the owners, but they sold it. Great steak place in Red River. Wish I could remember the name. Been way too long since we have been out there. Guess I was a lot of help.
  10. Either there are more RSVs on the roads these days, or I am just paying more attention to the bikes I see. Past (going same direction) a canary yellow RSV trike today on hwy 62E in Charlestown, IN today. Seen it before in Jeffersonville on hwy 62. Some day I'll find him and put a card on his trike.
  11. Little intimidating at first but it sure does feel good when done. How bout some pics of the WWWs?
  12. I would love to join ya Joe, but daughter has rodeo next weekend.
  13. Just checked. Don't know what availabilitythere is, but there is a Super 8 and a Baymont in Corydon. AAA or AARP rates for that weekend are: Super8 - $57.59; Baymont - $55.96
  14. Both are great rides. We did were in Shoals yesterday. Went over to Washington for lunch. Going to try to get my parents down here that weekend to ride with us.
  15. And now, with the tool and knowledge you have, you can help out others in your area. Carry the sync and necessary tools with you if you ever go on any M&Es. 15 minutes in the parking lot just might make some one elses day when they ride off.
  16. Changed the oil and final fluid today. Checked the air filter. Plugs are burning clean and still within gap tolerance. Synced carbs just a few weeks ago. New tires were put on 12 months/12,000 miles ago and driveshaft was greased good. Coolant level is good. Me thinks I am good to go. Anything else to check?
  17. The bike is a little heavy. A new set of leveling link from DiamondR does help the handling. Wet handling will depend on the tires. I have run in rain on the original Dunlop 404s and Dunlop Elite 3s. Tire life has MANY factors. The original 404s or Bridgestones will not lat you more than 12000 miles of 2up riding. These bikes are virtually bullet proof. At almost 25,000 miles on my 2007, I have done nothing more than new tires and oil changes. I regularly get 40-45 mpg, but know that the speedo is off by 5% to 10%. But the mpg will also vary with riding style. Any maint. that you might need to do is pretty easy and everyone here will gladly help in whatever way they can. Good luck and welcome to the site.
  18. I do this all the time. I use the sheets that have already been through the dryer. No problems on paint.
  19. Hopefully some one can help you out. If I were closer, I would be glad to help. It is very easy to do.
  20. Since I am already in So. Indiana, I am interested in at least joining y'all. Down along the river from Corydon to Tel City is a great ride too. As well and 135 all the way up.
  21. Let me ask the stupid question. I am planning to get a Stabel horn. Is the "plug-and-play" wiring required? Relay required? Why can you not just wire the Stabel with the existing horn wires? I assume it has to do with an increase in amp draw.
  22. At least one has to be a member... They were gassing up in east Louisville on Hurstborne and I-64 then headed east on I-64. An 03 RSV, 07 RSV and a RSMV. Also traveling with 2 Kaw Voyagers. All 5 bikes were pulling trailers and all 5 were from Illinois. Would have loved to stop and chat, but was already running late.
  23. Tank stayed on. Now my measurement of the lenth did not include the handle of the screwdriver.
