Getting ready for cataract surgery tomorrow.
1rooster replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Watering Hole
Good luck with the surgery.Hope all goes well. One thing, after seeing some of these folks you may regret having the surgery. -
Bike does not lean and neither does the sidecar.

When you planning on being in the Asheville area? I live about 30 miles from there so if you wanna meet up give me a call.
-
Come on up and we will take a ride there.I live a short 20 miles from Lake Lure.Where do you call home????
-
Kinda like on hold right now.The bags off the 84 just dont have the right shape. The 86 and newer, being bigger and flat on the backside would be perfect.Looking for a set.

Now some of those places look familiar.....great pix.....as usual.

Lake Lure??????Only 20 miles from me and I wasn't invited??????Now that just cracks my heart.Couldn't made it anyway,I was at Maggie Valley and Cherokee rallies.

At this point I think I'll go with a rear tire mounted in reverse when I need to replace the front tire. Larry I have had a rear tire on the front of my Venture for 31,000 miles and it was NOT mounted in the reverse rotation.Had to change it due to cupping from the sidecar.I ran the tire 2 years and 22,000 miles in the mountains of NC with no problems before installing the sidecar. http://inlinethumb12.webshots.com/42315/2489795320037297848S600x600Q85.jpg

I know what you mean.Sidecar was the best investment I made. The wife sleeps, watches movies, reads, turns on the heat when cold and stays dry in the rain. She is such a good passenger.....

I towed my 86 on a trailer with my 99,and that was not on level roads.

Owning two 1st Gen's parts are a must have.

Thank you for your service and thank you for joining the Patriot Guard.

I don't understand why it would need to be mounted backwards.I got 31,000 miles out of mine and only changed it recently because it was "cupping" From running the sidecar. I BELIEVE I could have gotten another 20,000 out of the tire if not for the cupping.

I quit smoking 1993 cold turkey.Threw the cigarettes out the car window on Interstate40. 14 days ago today I threw the chewing tobacco out the window on Interstate40 about the same location.Good thing I dont use a dryer to dry the clothes.

Put me down for 2.

Count me in for a set.

Here is my Dunlop 404 on the front with 31,000 miles on it.And I did not reverse the rotation and 90% of all the miles is in the mountain twisties in NC. http://inlinethumb12.webshots.com/42315/2489795320037297848S600x600Q85.jpg

Over the last two weekends I put over 1200 miles on my 86.And all those miles was in the mountains of NC. 1. Handling in the twisties both bikes are pretty equal. 2. Comfort.definately the 99 3. Gas mileage..99 4. Acceleration.maybe the 86 5. We dont have any roads with a 1/4 mile straight on it so I cant comment on the fastest. 6.Brakes...99 7.On a scale of 1 to 10 I give the 99 a 9 and the 86 an 8 . Being as I live in the mountains both bikes are fast enough for me and both bikes are slow enough for me.

Saw the pictures and that was the first I heard about the M&E.The wife and I had no plans for the weekend so all we did was burn gas riding the bikes.
