  1. KOA campground or Super 8 in Black Mountain.Better get there early cause those folks are taking a ride.
  2. Nice meeting you today.Hope you enjoyed the 90 mile ride we took today. That was just a taste of the roads we have around here.I also met BOO this afternoon just before he had to leave to go to the airport to pick up his wife.See y'all next week.I will be around wed, thurs, fri if anyone wants to go enjoy the scenery.
  3. Come on up to the mountains of NC.Asheville is about 30 minutes away, great hospitals, airport, and lotsa tristy roads and if you get tired of them then we have more twisties and more twisties and a few more twisties.I'll check with the neighbors and see if there have any caves for sale:farmer:.
  4. You have mail
  5. One 2XL with pocket's.
  6. You should see their expression when the sidecar passes them.
  7. Actually it's the 565..Good looking rig you got there

  8. Don't know the route you plan to take to Asheville but my suggestion would be to take 9,just outside your back door all the way to Black Mountain. Then 40 east to OldFort and 70 toward Marion. After leaving Old Fort on 70 go nine miles to a traffic light.Left on 80 will take you to the BRP lotsa twisties on that road.Get to parkway you can go to MT Mitchell, great ride,or north to highway 226A toward Marion lots more twisties, then you come to 226 turn left to Spruce Pine .At the parkway entrance is a nice gem musem and half mile on left is gem panning.Get back on parkway north to 221 go south to Linville Caverns,a must see,or you can continue on the parkway to Grandfather Mountain, also a must see.221 south will take you back to Marion and Interstate 40.I f you are in the Marion area give me a call and maybe we can meet up.After 4 though. Some of us have to work. Just my suggestion for rides in the area.

  17. Steer clear of Arden, too close to Asheville congested traffic.I live in Marion, nice small town and within 20 miles of the parkway and Lake Lure and all the other GREAT roads in Western NC.Wherever you stay give me a call and we can meet up for a couple thousand miles of rides. We can ride The Tail of The Rooster,an absolute must ride when in the area.
  18. I now have more than 24,000 miles on my front tire on my 99,but the tire is a rear tire on the front.I live in the mountains of NC and almost all the miles are on the twisty mountain roads.I now have a sidecar on the bike and the tire looks like it has about 10,000 miles left on it.I have used the 404,s many years and plan on using them many more years. My front tire, and yes it is a rear use tire. The photo was taken with 22,000 miles on the tire. http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2489795320037297848tOXnFq http://thumb8.webshots.net/t/52/652/7/95/32/2489795320037297848tOXnFq_th.jpg

  21. Looks like the 08 is smoking the 1st gen.
  22. Never dropped mine. That 3rd tire on the side sure helps.
  23. I bought a new 650 Vstar in 2002.We rode that bike for 4 years all over the mountains of NC.I am 250 lb and my wife rode two up and never a problem. It is in no way a highway touring bike but a wonderful cruiser.Go for it.Wish I still had the 650 for local cruising.
  24. Really bad.New plugs and new plug wires.Whats wrong?
