  1. Awesome... I will poll the members from around here for a M&E Have you got a scoot lined up? EDIT: of course you do... you just said so LOL
  2. LOL ... I posted to tell you to look again and by the time I hit the submit, you did and edited your post.
  3. Awesome!! How did you find it handled in the wind and do you feel the wind protection is better/worse than the RSV?
  4. There's an idea! Now if only the weather would warm up ...

    Too HOT

yes, it's a great riding temp ... just no fun when it's raining LOL
  6. Now that just gave me an idea ... Sailor is riding with us so maybe he'll consider..... oh dang, just remembered... Tiffany got a promotion to Management at her work and can't get the time off any more (at least for this summer). She manages a specialty cheese shop in a trendy area of Vancouver.
  7. LOL ... Nina was a theater singer/actress but it's been several years since she's done that and is probably pretty rusty.
  8. ahhhh... I don't think that is a stock cap and I can see why yours won't work. However, it appears that if you modified/repositioned the cruise switch.... maybe ??
  9. She does take requests and I'll pass that one along. Originally my wife wasn't able to go with me to the Cody rally so Tiffany was going to come (or hoped to) ... and of course, she would perform for everyone but that's all changed now and Nina is coming with me ... and NO, she won't "perform" for anyone other than ME!

Trade ya your weather for ours... Forecast for the next several days is cloudy, rain, and temps 2-4 degrees celcius lower than normal. Normal high this time of year is 18 celcius (just over 64 F)
  11. No, the backrest isn't with it but I might invest in one. I'll keep you in mind.
  12. Check my post #7 in this thread... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=57431&highlight=riser If your caps are the same as mine the risers will fit. I've seen others with chromed risers but not sure where they got them.
  13. LOL ... good idea ... I'll ask her. Got any ideas for the lyrics?
  14. Which riser's did you get? If it's these one's, they will work on any RSV 1999 - 2011 http://www.baroncustom.com/catalog/display/777/index.html
  15. It certainly is important to be aware of your surroundings at all times. Obviously in her case, she wasn't ... good for you that you were! As for her and her cell phone, I dunno... I think I'da been giving her a thorough lecture at that time and some of my words could not be repeated in here.
  16. Oh gawd, the boss is coming... hey guys... that puts an end to discussions on politics and religion!! :cool10:
  17. Just wanted to share this with ya'll cuz I am so proud of her. The sound and vid quality isn't so good as she did this in my computer room with a cheapo webcam/mic but as she says, she's not auditioning to become a rock star. However, she is a regular, paid performer at a couple pubs here in the city. Enjoy! 18. Brian, thanks for jogging my memory (as I've stated before, I have C.R.S.) ... I now recall that same whine on my '85. In fact, at times it drove me crazy when I had to run it around that rpm. Now that I remember, I used to have to ride at speeds at or above 105 km/h just to get beyond where the whine was or drop it down to 4th. I never associated that with the clutch basket at the time. Having said that tho, I definately did not have any whine in my '87.
  19. Probably your rear wheel hub pins need to be cleaned and lubed..
  20. After several hours riding, I find that my butt gets numb and tends to feel sore afterwards for a while. I modified the seat to relieve pressure on the tailbone and that worked fine but still get the "numb butt". So, I happened upon a "like new" Corbin dual touring seat for like 1/2 of the new price .... hopefully that will make a difference but if not, I figgure I could re-sell if for what I paid no problem. 21. Dang.... looks like I'm gonna be a politician soon then... :bang head:
  22. Based on what I've read and hear, plus the fact that I've owned an '85 and an '87, there doesn't seem to be any "clutch basket whine" on 1st gen's. Both 1st and 2nd gen's have the same gear design for the clutch basket and matching primary drive gear. My thinking of this is that somewhere between dropping the 1st gen and producing the 2nd gen, Yamaha changed who the mfg of the gear set was and the new mfg didn't produce a properly matched gear set in all cases. This would explain why some 2nd gen's got the whine and other's don't and why one I-basket fixes the problem and other's simply move the whine to a different rpm. The gear set is not properly matched. Machining spec maybe out a hair or something of the sort or maybe 2 different mfg's are making the gear sets... the primary gear from one mfg and the clutch basket gear from a different mfg.... ?????? (just my personal thoughts on this)
  23. You really need to teach that dog to stop leaving your computer work area so messy and some simple tricks on how to clear the screen properly and quickly when he's downloading naughty doggie stuff.... :stickpoke: :rotfl:
  24. I've mentioned this before a few years ago when I got my '87. At speeds above 165 km/h, the bike would start to wobble. Never had this problem on my '85. Others reported similar on their MKII. A bit of experimenting and I discovered I could reduce/eliminate the wobble if I spread my knees out wide so they were catching air. I then attributed the wobble to the different trunk and side bag design. This wobble would occur whether I was solo or riding 2-up and in either case, I could spread my knees out and virtually stop it. On my '06, I have not experienced any wobble of any sort other than during a high speed, tight corner that has dips or bumps but it's really not a wobble in that case and the bike steadies itself fairly quickly so that is really more of a frame/suspension flex I figgure. I've had my '06 now for 2.5 years and have pushed it pretty hard at time in the corners and feel perfectly safe. One thing I noticed yesterday as I was blasting thru one of my fav tight corners is that I don't scrape the floorboard anymore... apparently a "hidden" advantage to adding the levelling links which raise the rear of the bike a bit.
  25. DITTO!! ... without looking it up, I think mine is closer to $1200 and that's with full coverage and maximum safe driver discount.
