All good advice (and opinions) of which I will take into consideration. As for what you're saying (or repeating for that matter), I don't disagree; however, I am the kind of guy who always ask "why". (aka "show me") ... no particular reason other than just to know why a statement is made ... can you or anyone provide the "why" to that?

I replaced my tires with new E3's. The rear was almost shot so discarded it but I kept the front coz there's still lots of wear left. It's a Bridgestone Spitfire II. Now, my son has an '03 Sportster 1200 and his rear tire is shot. Turns out my front tire is the same size as his rear tire. The question is, can a guy put a front tire on the rear? ... and if so, should I change the rotation direction?

New clutch cause this???

Probably a dumb question, since Earl was helping you but... did you soak those friction discs in oil before you installed them? As bongo says, let it wear in for a while and see how it goes. I don't think the oil is causing the noise. -
It seems to only remember to stay checked as I never save my sent messages, nor do I wish for a confirmation so every time I send a message, I have to scroll down and uncheck those 2 boxes. A bit of a PITA.

My first car ever was a '52 Merc 4-dr ... I partnered with a buddy and we bought it for 20 bucks!! LOL. After a while, I paid him his $10 share and it was all mine. First thing I did was rip the front end chrome off and paint eveything visible behind the grille flourescent Orange! LOL ya, I was pretty young then! Loved that overdrive switch it had .... and that it burned a quart of oil every 50 miles.... I'd pass folks and then smoke 'em out! hahahaha Eventually rolled the damned thing first time out on the highway in the winter .. Oh the memories!

Not to worry, I will try and arrange an escort from the ferry.

OH NO!! ... this means I'd better haul the trailer coz Nina will be collecting more than we can carry on the scoot .... wait a min. ... on second thought, I'll leave the trailer at home and that way she can't gather too many rocks ... or... :whistling: maybe if I just leave her at home.... :whistling:

Well, it looks as though I have managed to while away a whole work day just reading about Freebird's maintenance day and looking at all the pics. Thanks Don for an awesome time (seems as though I was there just reading about it) and thanks everyone for the pics and for helping me get through a whole work day without doing a lick of work! :whistling:

We did it 2 years ago (I think it was 2) ... the only problem we ran into was finding a motel. We went up the Sunshine Coast to Powell River and over to Comox, thinking we'd stay there or in Courtnay the night ... turned out there was some big convention going on and we wound up riding all the way down to Nanaimo before we found anything suitable at a reasonable rate. If you're coming out, be sure and look us up if you have the time! -Rick

For all those ferry rides and the route, you can buy what is called a "Circle pass" (I believe) ... it is much cheaper than individual ones. Sailor might be able to suggest something even better that will save even more bucks as those danged ferries are getting more and more expensive. FYI, your reference to the Coast Hwy and Sea-to-Sky are the same route. What is now referred to as the Sea-to-Sky hwy is in reality hwy 99 which begins at the Peace Arch border and goes all the way to Lillooet where it joins hwy 97. It is the "Canadian" extension of US 99. "Sea-to-Sky " starts at Horseshoe Bay and ends at Pemberton.

Now Kerry, ... I'd like to know just how you know that!!! :stickpoke:

I think it all has to do with the challenge of hitting the correct LITTLE BUTTON to produce a legible word.... I dunno, I can't seem to never master that one!

There's still time for you to get your "ahem" up here for the M&E .... I've got it on good authority that we will have nice weather. Speaking of which, I forgot to give my lotto winnings to the weather gods for this coming weekend so it looks like I may not get the opportunity to "scuff in" my new E3's

I dunno about that .... I have one every time I ride 2-up with Nina!! :rotfl:... oh wait... I get so confused at times... that's not an autopilot, that's a back seat driver!! (just joshin hunny ... xoxoxo)
