I had the same problem ... the risers made all the difference for me. I also angled my bars upwards as close to the inner fairing as I could.

Welcome to the "family" ... For the rear lighting, many of us use these... http://www.customdynamics.com/Light_bars.htm ...and there's several other options that other's will suggest I'm sure.

 Actually, we're contemplating hauling the trailer (someone needs more room), in which case I'll be putting the stock muffs back on. -
heh... I didn't really respond ... that was my "response thought.." I just shook my head in wonderment and deleted it.

DITTO what has been said so far.... sounds fairly normal from those sound clips. Is that 5k miles after you changed the oil? Run some seafoam thru it... burn a whole tank of gas with the seafoam added. Don't be afraid to open it up on the hwy. This will clean things out real good. Then... Sync the carbs.

Mine came with a car mount kit. I used the dash vent mount and clipped it to the speaker grille and secured it with a couple small zip ties. This has worked fine for a couple summers but it does cause the unit to vibrate a fair amount. That might have been why my Stratus 5 unit crapped out. I think I'll order a ram mount for it eventually.

ummm... well, I'm not concerned about the content ... it's still on warranty.. Actually tho, Sirius and XM are almost the same in many ways and it has been a few years since I had XM so I'm not even sure what the differences are. I'm happy with the Sirius. Here's a few places to check it out... http://www.scinet.cc/articles/sirius-vs-xm/satellite-radio.html http://www.radiosatellite.org/ http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/satellite-radio-comp.htm

I had XM ... now on Sirius ... essentially the same thing. I'm on my 2nd Sirius receiver. 1st one was a Stratus 5 ... now have a Starmate. Had to change coz the Stratus crapped out after warranty was over.

Different ears hear things differently (different strokes for different folks) ... my RK's (baffles removed) do not sound "tinny" (to me or to anyone else I know that's heard them). You are correct in saying a V4 will never sound like a Vtwin tho ... unless of course, 2 of the cylinders aren't firing ... -
If I remember correctly, the inside diameter of the muffler inlet should be 1 & 3/4 inch. Road King, Ultra classic, Street glide, Road Glide ... I believe all of these "Cruiser/Tourer" style HD's have the same sized exhaust. I could be wrong tho... I was once before....
-
I "cruise" kijiji.ca a lot and there are tons of Harleys there as well. Quite a few 2008 and older Ultras. I figgure since the changes in 2009 a lot of guys want to upgrade. And yes, they sure aren't giving them away....or at least their asking prices don't indicate that.

my bike leans more since I installed the levelling links. as for me, I tend to lean to the right... as in "being in the right lane" or... "having a one-track mind" ..

I can remember when a glass of beer was 10 cents.

Very noise clutch I believe
SilvrT replied to smcgillis's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
I had a bit of a rattle on my '85 ... same thing... when stopped and in neutral, it had this "rattling" sound... pull the clutch in and it would stop. Weird tho as it wouldn't do it all the time. I never did do anything about it but certainly, I would get it looked at when it's still under warranty and definately try a different dealer if not getting any satisfaction at the current one. -
If you'd stop spending so much time marketing those invisible scoots, you just might have time to go riding... :stickpoke:
-
OK, this is starting to sound like SOME PEOPLE don't have a LOT TO DO ... (myself excluded of course) ... what's going on?... winter is over! ya'll should be out riding instead of spending all this time over an invisible object. ps, the above comment is INVISIBLE but if you're smart enuf, you can read it.

SilvrT replied to smcgillis's topic in Royal Star and Royal Star Tour Deluxe Tech Talk
Specifically what does the noise sound like? My advice is to make them fix it while it is still on warranty as IMHO, it should not "rattle". -
DANG that was FAST!!! My order just got delivered!!
-
Kevin, I think I know this ... it comes via INV Shipping (INV short for Invisible). They work on a COD basis and guarantee satisfaction. When they arrive with your invisible Gold '09 model, they allow you to do a complete inspection and if not fully satisfied, they will return the invisible item in their invisible shipping container. If you are satisfied, they will then ask for your invisible cheque with an invisible amount on it. Since it is invisible, just put a big fat ZERO on it!! They won't even know the difference!
