Good idea ... now if only I can figgure out how to mount a FURNACE to ours! LOL

For the first time since I bought this scoot I checked my fuel consumption (distance travelled). Riding 2 up, Vancouver to Whistler, varying speeds, lots of grades .... got 282 km (175 miles) before the fuel light came on. As it turned out, we were only 5km away from home. From reading these posts, I guess I'm doing ok ... eh!

Here's a link to various muffler sounds, including stock RK's http: //www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/index.php?action=article&cat_id=002009&id=285 you may have to copy/paste the link into your browser and remove the spaces coz pasting it as a link in here didn't seem to work. -
I got mine from Lordco.

DITTO that!! I spend about 15 min. minimum before every ride cleaning dust off my scoot from just sitting in the garage where nothing else is going on. I polish it often and in the winter I do a real good waxing on it. Where those little scratches and smudges come from I have no idea but they just show up out of nowhere. If we've been on a long ride where we've encountered crappy weather, I wash the bike with soapy water (car wash soap) and water and then shamois it all off. I regularly clean the windshield and front area of the bike of the bugs, etc with Pledge. It's a real PITA keeping a BLACK bike looking good... but it's worth it coz when they look good, they really LOOK GOOD! (and they're also the fastest ) My next bike will probably be SILVER coz it never seems to look dirty LOL

For what it's worth, I would get muscle stiffness and sore in my neck and shoulder on the right side. I installed the Risers and just that little change made all the difference. As for the tingling, nope... don't have that ... but I do have the ISO grips which I really like. Next up ... a throttle rocker and maybe a backrest.

I don't get it ... isn't the driver's side on the left and passenger on right? ........ ohhhhhhhhhhh.......... you're talking about the scoot... :rotfl: wait a minute... isn't it the same?

My son and his best buddy bought new anniv HD in 2003. His buddy bought the Road King and son bought the sportster. Son has maybe 15k Klms (kilometers) and his buddy has less than 5k and most of those were put on between '03 and '06. His buddy's RK sits in his living room and hasn't moved for the past 3 years. After being with me on a couple rides, my son has come to the realization that a fairing and tunes are nice to have. He's now looking at a new Street Glide .... gonna be hard for him to get it tho when he's living on pogie (Unemployment Enjoyment) LOL Wish I could get him out of this "Harley or nothing" frame of mind.
-
... guess he didn't key in if it was a 2 or 4 door ...
-
it does ... but since they are manual crank, you need a driver and 3 pygmies, ... the alternator has nothing to do with it.
-
what would be even more interesting is what the term "on the road" really means. For example, buddy's Road glide has been sitting in his living room in pieces for the last 5 years, waiting for buddy to come up with enuf cash to finish his rebuild .... is that considered as being "on the road"?? I'd be interested to know how they can come up with such a statistic.

LOL... the other day I went to get an alternator for my daughter's 1989 Honda civic ... first thing the guy asks is "is it a 2 door or 4 door?" ... like... what the &^* does the number of doors have to do with an alternator on a Honda Civic???

that's correct ... just a bit louder than stock Yammie's ... unless you drill the baffles out but even with that, they're not too bad. (now if I can remember to post the link to those sound files when I get home .... ) -

Cutting down windshield from the bottom

Here's why I disagree with that method (and I hope you don't mind me saying so) First of all, if there is no tape on the w/s, it is possible that the saw blade might splinter the edge of the plastic (unlikely but possible). Secondly, if any sort of abrasive material gets between the base of the saw and the plastic, then you'll have to deal with scratches. I firmly believe that the tape should go onto the w/s and if a person is concerned about the protective coating being lifted when removing the tape, use painter's tape or some other tape that is not overly sticky (autobody masking tape is not necessarilly a good choice). When you remove the tape, don't pull it off from the edge of the w/s down, start away from the w/s edge and pull towards it and don't pull straight up, angle the pull so that it's almost parallel. Just my feelings about this.... folks, ya'll do whatever you feel comfortable with. -
Around here recently, a woman was mauled to death by a black bear and within the same time period in another area of the province, a man was seriosuly injured when he was mauled by a Grizzly. It seems that every year we hear more and more incidents of bear encounters. Even deer are getting aggressive as a woman was attacked by a doe a couple weeks ago in the interior.

Could you elaborate on the process? I happen to have one of those vacs that I use for cleaning computers. Are we talking the same kind of vac?
