I am getting ready to do the tank on my 1960 GMC Burb and was told that a 50/50 mixture of pool acid and water will clean it out nicely. Bought the acid, haven't had time to try it.

Battery fluid level bypass

Just make a complete new wire with a new resister from the accessory screw to the connector. If you hook power straight up you will damage stuff. You only need one correct resister. -
Oh My Gosh !!! You joined ! Now I have to call off the hit squad. You need to post pictures of your 1st Gen beauty. It's a classy bike. Glad to have help building the Southern Arizona 1st Gen squad.

Just ordered 2 sets... hopefully it will help with the gas smell my 89 has developed and since the 87 is apart..why not ? Sounds fast and easy for a small amount of $$$.

But doesn't the correct answers cost more ? -
I heard you get senile and buy a 2nd Gen....hey...just what I heard....

I have seen a difference in my bike mileage when I use a "heavier" dose of Seafoam. Maybe due to a heavier throttle usage while I was trying to clean out the carbs ???? My story and sticken to it ! My bad. But I have used it in much heavier than recommended doses in the past and cut way back because of my perception of lower mileage when I use it.

I found the best way to get rid of the whine is to stay way ahead of the 2nd Gen trying to catch up. Ear plugs work too in case the 2nd Gen rider is really loud... I'm sorry....but it was left soooo wide open .....

My whole 89 got away from me since yesterday. I rode it to a point, then my son showed up with my Tahoe and took the bike.... finally heard from him at 5Pm today...he asked what I was doing..my response was " Working on YOUR bike ! " Gotta get the 87 on the road or I will never see my 89. At least he has been converted from the crotch rocket lifestyle !

Took the step forward and joined the Patriot Guard Riders. Now to "gear up".

Every time I have seen my Grand Princess, I have sat her on my knee with her holding on to the "handle bars" ( AKA my thumbs) while I made motor noises and bounced her on my knee. Just got her a real 1st Gen..AKA dinosaur "bike". At 7 1/2 months old...she LOVES it ! She holds on to the handle bars and makes her own lip noise. Cries if you stop pushing her or trying to take her off it. Now to figure out how to fit a baby seat on my bike with out Mommy or Grandma knowing...

I've been on the fence about joining since I travel so much, but like it's been said, even being there once would be worth it if it comforts one person or family. My daughter's unit lost 3 during her tour. When they did the final formation for "dismissal" after Green Ramp, I turned to see the father of one of the fallen heroes standing beside me with tears streaming down his face, knowing his son wasn't there to be dismissed back to their family. I put my arm on his shoulder and cried with him. No words were said. One of the saddest times for me. My daughter was injured, but survived. I feel lucky and blessed every day that she came home.

Need opinions on 1984 1200 venture
KIC replied to chuck6121's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Welcome Chuck, The parts aren't "expensive" compared to other bikes. There are used parts available, in fact I might have a front caliper available this weekend if an 83 is the same one. The amount of information available here is more than you can find at a stealership. These bikes are pretty easy to work on. Check the tech section for specific "how to's" ..or in my case..how not to.. Oh yea.. and you might want to buy BigTom a banana split.... -
I didn't know that either...

The battery resister wire is a real breeze to make and install. In fact I made a couple extra just in case. Mine took the 2.2 ohm resister. My 87 needs one but I just haven't been in town to install it yet. Good luck. Bill

I should have 2 83 parts bikes in a couple of days once I get back from travel. If I have what you need I'll get it to you if you haven't already found one. Let me know. Bill

Battery by-pass wire completed ?

If the gas pump picture is showing, you are just low on gas . I thought it was supposed to be on until I filled up the first time . When you are off reserve, you will just show bars across .
