    I found these in the rear case of one of the carcases that I bought yesterday. There are two of them, each one is very heavy for it's size. They have a rubber cap/stop on each end and two o-rings in the middle. Anybody have any idea what they are ?

    So I finally was able to connect with the owner of the bike junkyard and finalize the deal for the 2 MK1 carcasses he had rotting away in his yard. Got a big surprise though.. I had been wanting to buy the blonde and a frame that had the motor and rear drive train but not much more. When the owner directed an employee to help me " load the two Ventures" we walked out to the yard. I went looking for the frame as they had cleaned up and moved things around. The employee pointed to the gold one and said that one and this one... I was still looking ion the other direction for the frame. When I said " they moved it ... I can't find it.." He said "it's right there..." He was pointing to a different Venture with a lot more parts on it. I hadn't seen that one before. He said " that's the two the boss said to load" . So, I got both. A better deal than what I thought I had. The first picture is the frame I thought I was getting... the purple bike is what I got. Here are the pictures:

    Found a picture of the first Generation Voyager..just thought I would pass it on....

    Do these replace the existing nut that is in there ? I am presuming so, but want to verify.

    Take off side plastic and 4 carb side screws just have to be careful not to.rip them when changing.

    I just bought set of 4 diaphragms for my 87 for 86.00. When I change out my old ones ...if any of then.are good...I can send one to.you. Bill

    Looks photo shopped to me . The trailer doesn't look like its moving. Nothing flapping in the wind . Trailer torres look like they.are not moving. Just my thoughts.

    My personal experience is that the original bearings are cra replace them with better bearings . Nothing to do.with the sway ...but won't leave you stranded like they did.me .

    Ok..time for tough love. The tape and reflective is OK.. nice job... BUT... WTH is with the Harley license frame on a 1st Gen ?????? I think there is a federal law against that !! I think that violates international treaties and everything.......

    Prayers and best wishes for your grandson. My 23 yr old son was is a crotch rocket daredevil, and knows it. I used to hold my breath when i knew he was out riding with his friends. He doesn't have a crotch rocket right now so I got him to ride my 89 VR. He actually liked it. So I got him an 87 VR and other than wanting to put louder pipes on it, he seems very interested. He had my bike for a weekend and showed up at a crime scene I was working at with a big smile and wondering when we would finish his bike. Kids just think they are invincible on those rocket sleds. Maybe your grandson will look towards a more "comfortable" bike now. Best wishes.

    You know, the fun is the same on all the forums. On our ADVRider forum, the "jokes" are between the KTM's ( Keep The Money comin') and the KLR's ( Keep Locktight Ready) . The bantering goes back and forth. I first rode my friend's 2nd Gen that got me looking at Ventures. Then another friend bought a 1st Gen and I liked to "retro" aspect of it. That was before I found out how much faster and better a 1st Gen was. All in good fun. People need to lighten up. Of course we could just change course and leave the 2nd Gens and Harley's alone and just pick on the Gold/Silverwing guys.... Hmmm..... 1st Gen - 2nd Gens - Harleys - Goldwings - Now.... go out and ride it like ya stole it !

    Sorry about the clowning...not familiar with the wires. I have been following this thread since I am having a similar issue with my 87 front/rear brakes. Sounds like you are getting the info from the "smarter than I" ones.

    I've heard that if you cross the ...was it the Brown with the yellow...or was it the Green with the black, ...there is a small explosion.. Hey..it's just a rumor I started minutes ago....
