  2. Hi All, I was contacted today by a guy who is broke down in Mexico. It seems maybe his CPU went out. I am going to go to my parts bike to see if I have one. He ask me to get ahold of PUC, who seems to now be an expired member. If anyone knows how to contact PUC or would like to text/help him with repair/test ideas you can text Matt at 406-880-2921. I do not know him personally bit he lives in Northern AZ and we have communicated over texts in the past over parts before his road trip. Bill
  3. So I finalized the sale of my late son-in-law's 86 Royale. The last of my running Ventures.. Now I just have 4 parts bikes to try to salvage what I can to help keep other's bikes on the road before I have to dispose of those.. For some reason I see another Venture in my future at some point... For those who remember, this was Red Rooster's bike I helped buy for my son-in-law about 5 years ago
  4. I have a couple if you ever need another one..
  5. PUC you ol' mile buster, how are you ? Long time no chat.
  6. Thank you for the input...... All I want is both...lol... not looking at any get rich quick scheme and in the Get rid of the "stuff" and put some money into my bike fund for future tires, maintenance etc. I would rather all this go on some bikes to keep them all going, I also have $$ invested in rescuing these bikes from the scrap yards. Again, the $$ goes into my bike. Thanks for the insight .. Also I have 2 full sets of matching keys/ bag locks/gas cap/ignition .. Again looking for a fair price ... FYI.. I have "given away" more part then ever sold off of these bikes only asking for actual shipping costs ( which most have covered, some didn't)
  7. Hi All I am getting rid of my parts bikes and I have somebody interested in the two bags, crash bars and the dashboard off of my 87 .. I want to be fair, but all the $$$ goes to my bike fund for maintenance etc. What would be a fair amount for these items ?? ( Dove not included )
  8. They definitely have the power. My son loves mine and you know how the young ones are on power and speed. I am going to try the Darkside in a short while since my tire will soon need replacing. The only PIA on these are the oil changes.. 3 ..count them 3 oil plugs and two are are real pain to change ..
  9. Helllloooooooooo Helllooooooooo...... hello......hello... hello...... Anybody out there ...?? out there....out there....out there ... ?? So quiet... maybe I should have bought a Harley ... 😄
  10. Just wondering if anybody else has a Liner ? I will be selling my last Venture, my 86 that I inherited from my son-in-law's passing. We bought it from Red Rooster some years ago. I still have my 2006 Roadliner and just renewed my membership here. Hoping to maybe start a Liner thread .. C'mon any more 1900 113 CI monster bikes out there.. ?
  11. Hey, who are you calling a lop eared varmint ?? I resemble that comment !! I would love to meet you.. Proving that PUC and Sasquatch really exist are two of my bucket list items. Of course Sasquatch was listed as the easiest to accomplish. I am in Alabama until Wednesday.. but if yo come back to the Southwest in the winter, Dave and I could take a ride ( we ride year around since we keep ice in the freezer where it belongs) and meet up with you. Come to think of it.. I've seen pictures... maybe i can knock off the Sasquatch item at teh same time... hmmmmm..
  12. Brian, I remember your accident well. Boy, it seems like last week. I sadly sold my 89 in Feb when I bought my Stratoliner. I had also inherited my son-in-law's 86 Venture that we bought from 1Rooster several years ago. After my son-in-law passed away last July my daughter just couldn't part with his Venure and asked me to keep it running for the girls to ride. I couldn't keep all 3 bikes so I kept his 86 and the Strat. My wife asks why I don't ride as much now, and I just answer that life gets in the way. I do ride, my 3 & 6 year old Grand Princesses LOVE riding on the bikes. We just stay around close to the house for now. I can't see ever giving up riding, but we never know the future. If we did, i would be buying a lottery ticket tonight. You were an avid rider and Venture lover. I still have several of the special tools and items you had made for the Venture. Enjoy life. Stay in touch. Take care. FORE ! Bill
  13. I just found that this was posted in another thread..
  14. So it looks like Puck has relatives that like the Venture too...
  15. I too am shocked at this turn of events. When i joined Dan made me feel welcomed. We sparred at times and he helped me many times with answers to my questions.. As all others here have stated, he will be missed. RIP Yammer... Ride the skies..
  16. Anybody ever go darkside with a mid 2000 ( 2006) Stratoliner ? Just bought one with a new tire on it, but looking into the future since I hear they are rough on rear tires.
  17. So I flew to Oklahoma and picked up my 06 Stratoliner. Sold my 89 baby though in the process. Came with Cobra pipes and a Mustang seat. Also have the originals of those. I still have my son-in-laws 86 that I will start working on to upgrade/repair a few issues it has. New chapter in riding for me ......
  18. That's a very rare Yamabird 100. Only several known to still exist in the Southwest. Taste like gassy chicken. Must be boiled
  19. IT GOES AND GOES AND GOES... Mine started to leak so bad it made a Harley look like it was potty trained. I think my main mess of a leak was the Air filter box inlets. The round tops inside the box. They seamed to be leaking down to the left side. I sold it before I could attack it. I am sure I will be dealing with that issue on my daughter's 86. So practice up David .. I need an expert.. By the way: 7 days and counting until I fly to Oklahoma to pick up my Stratoliner....
  20. Thanks guys.. I have a guy coming in from Phoenix tomorrow.. I will show him this info. I have to work early in the morning so I didn't want to tear it apart and then have to hand him a torn apart piece. We'll see how it goes. Guess I will probably knock off a hundred bucks to deal with it. I am running into crunch time on getting the money together for the Stratoliner.
  21. Okay..so I cleaned the cable and I think I found the problem which was a kinked cable housing. So I pulled and other on off of a parts bike and cleaned that one. Now the needle is "stuck" under the pin. Won't move in any direction. Next step ??? Do I have to pull the whole console out and take it apart ? I actually have a guy driving from Phoenix to look at it and was hoping to have this fixed .. No good deed goes unpunished.. I should have left it alone and sold it as is... UPDATE: Just took it for a spin and the odometer is working but the speedo is not ....;.
  22. Thanks. I just got back from getting brake cleaner and cable lube...hope I do not have to take the whole speedo apart...
  23. Hi guys, I am in the process of (sadly) selling my beloved 89. As a quick background I am buying a friends Stratoliner and had planned on keeping my 89 and actually have time to work on it and really try to get to all those "little" things .. Since I just "inherited" my son-in-laws 86 Venture, I can't keep all 3 bikes and my daughter can't part with his 86 right now. So I am going to fix his up and ride the Strat for now. Anyway, I was trying to do the right thing and get the bike ready for a new owner...and was starting to get that winter "speedo whine" again. I pulled out the lil greaser adapter that Golf & Venture had developed and greased the speedo as I have done before. Anyway, now my speedo is acting weird. At first it would not work, so I reinstalled the cable and checked it so that it was seated properly. Now after several tries, when I take it for a spin it flips very quickly all the way around and stays pegged on the wrong side of that little pin. If I disconnect it from the bottom and spin it with my fingers, it will return to the correct side of the pin, but after reassembly and test ride it spin back around. I have 3 people interested i seeing the bike and really need to get this corrected....HELP !! Any ideas ?
  24. You can also pull the mufflers and look inside them. I did that and found a piece of the baffle inside the muffler and pulled that out. my rattle then went away.
  25. Thanks everybody. I probably need to find one in town and give it a test ride. This one is in Oklahoma and although I could back out at any time, I will fly in and then my friend and I are doing a road trip back to AZ. Originally I was going to fly in and ride it back, but he has to bring a trailer to Phoenix and also pick up his wife who will be at a work conference also in Phx. He loves it, but is just doesn't fit their current situation right now.
