I did that making some extensions for a spot mirror on my Truck the wind and vibration was to much for it and it broke at the bend and I watched the mirror explode going down the hwy. The rest of the day was pretty much a water haul.

Find a cb shop they should have the replacement tip and will set the swr for you usually at a modest charge. But don't let them do anything else to your cb unless you know there work. Lots of shade tree tech's out there. 10-4

It's been almost two weeks on this target posted 4/29/12 and we were really getting some momentum going.

Does the RSV cb have a talk back function dont have a head set so never tried mine. But if talk back is to loud on a cb it will cause problems. Check SWR's your bikes a 99 coaxial cable does get old. Also clean all antenna connections even where it mounts to the bracket.

The Vstar 1100 hundred came in two versions Classic and Custom mostly cosmetic things but if I remember correctly a minor difference in weight and seat height. I had the 02 classic 1100 it was a great bike just not for us. You should be able to find one in your price range maybe older with low miles. The classic also came in a Silverado edition with factory windshield, saddle bags, and pass. backrest. Pretty sure the classic has floorboards where as the custom had pegs and shorter fenders narrower front tire. Take your time and wait for the right one to come along.

Been toying with the idea of a shorter windshield for awhile now since I didn't win the F4 with a vent. Already had gone to a short wide 13 1/2 " which I like but since it warming up so quick wanted to try a little shorter. So I dug out my old stock shield after reading some threads to day and wacked it off down to 10 1/2". Everything went as planned as far as the cutting and sanding but somethings I did notice. I used masking tape instead of the duct and after final cleanup I noticed that in several places where the masking tape was all the scratches were gone, assuming this had removed film on shield, but heck it was clear. So I took the scrap piece I cut off and reapplied masking tape even warmed with a heat gun trying to find away to remove the rest of the film but no luck. Then I used Meguires scratch x by hand and then with 6" buffer did reduce some of the haziness but not the film sure didn't make it any worse. Does anyone know of way to remove all of the film if I could do that i would have a clear shield. If it can't be removed has anyone added tint like to have it smoked out for the summer months. Think it will be fine for short trips this summer but going to be to much buffeting for the wife on the long hauls. But it looks cool.
