  1. I doesn't take the place of my Venture at all.....It makes a nice little hot rod and is a real kick in he butt to me. I have 124000 on the Venture and I'm taking it on a 2000 mile trip first week of May. I have a Miata and a HHR panel truck that I love.......All different types of stuff.
  2. If you get on FB and visit Polaris Slingshot Forum a guy on there has a roll bar set up and a cool top he is manufacturing and selling for the Slingshot!
  3. At 1700 lbs. and 178 HP it really doesn't need a turbo for me. With the traction control off it smokes the tire in 3rd gear with no problem. With traction control on it still starts to spin in each of the first three gears. I've owned 5 Vettes and turned 16 in 1963 so I'm a muscle car guy. If you double the weight and double the HP that gives you the same weight and a little more HP than the very fast 66 Nova 327/350 hp that out ran big block Chevelles in those days...It's a blast to drive and when I picked it up with 2 miles on it I drove it home on I-75 110 miles and thought when I punched it in 3rd gear it felt a little flat. It took me a few days to figure out it was the traction control holding it back because it was trying to spin the tire! I told my wife it's going to be a TT machine. [Tires and Tickets] LOL
  4. I was visiting a friend at his new Cigar Shop and he snapped these! I probably the only redneck to have mud on my tires for pictures of a Slingshot!
  5. OK...Here's some pictures of my Slingshot!
  6. I do still have my Midnight Venture but will be selling my 650 V-Star before long.
  7. Got a Polaris Slingshot SL 2 weeks ago. Weather hasn't been very good here in S.W. Ohio but I do have 600 miles on it already. I'm notorious for over thinking things and after a month of driving myself crazy I pulled the trigger. Not just because I have a new toy but it does everything even better than expected! Faster than I thought and man oh man does it get looks and people follow you every where! If you are passing someone on the highway and then want to change lanes think again....Cars will speed up and fill the hole you thought you had just to get a look. Even different bike friends didn't know such a critter existed! Jerry K Troy Ohio
  8. I put mine inside the fairing on the left side and it will still let someone think a Semi just honked his air horn at them! Out of sight like I wanted it.....Put it in there about 75000 miles ago and no regrets!
  9. I had the same problem once. I had put seat back on and missed the tab and rode it that way a while. Tap gets chewed up some from riding on it I bet. You have to bend the tab back open some on the seat......It's mashed shut some and won't go back till it's opened up.
  10. Karfreek you should go up in pressure to about 43-45 and you'll think you added power steering and get better wear. I have 122,000 miles and had one with 86,000 got totaled and I've ran Dunlop,Metzler 880's, and really liked about the last 5 sets of Venoms.....But all brands need 40+ lbs. to feel right to me. My tire guy has me ready to try the new Michelin....says they are bragging that you will get better mileage than any tire....Hard to beat Venoms for miles but I've had a couple tire belt problems. I f the Michelin last that long it will have to be hard and I'm curious about grip?
  11. I surprised some one isn't saying ignition switch? Isn't it known for this symptom? Or one to consider......I just know I hate electrical problems!
  12. It's not too full of oil and continues to leak. I have confidence in my mechanic and you guys just confirmed what he's thinking. I HATE HAVING A YAMAHA LEAKING OIL! Thanks for the help!
  13. A couple months ago I had my mechanic do valve cover gaskets, carb boots and adjust valves. All that work is fine and covers aren't leaking. But I have an oil leak that follows the kickstand and exhaust and is coating the rear wheel! It's down low for sure. My mechanic thinks it's the Stator wire Gromlet where it goes through the cases. Is that possible?
  14. I think it just needed a good long ride and not set so long between rides....I hope it's OK but you sure did a lot for a simple problem!
