  1. Look further south and west it's a dry riverbed in Arizona quickly filling with tears at the fall of his super hero.:rotf:
  2. Happy Birthday Big Guy
  3. If he just installs slip ons he won't have to change a thing. If he goes with a full set like cobras it will need rejetting going this route I would go ahead and install a big air kit and do the jetting once. The V Star I had I just installed Vance n Hines slip ons slash cuts I think had a great sound and not overly obnoxious IMHO just couldn't see going through all the headache and expense for the full exhaust.
  4. Wow is right looks like something out of the movie Scorpion King. Bet that will get sand in your shorts. Hope your son stays safe.
  5. Black, chrome or the fuzzy fur covered ones :rotf:?
  6. I used GOO GONE to remove what was left of some deer whistles PO had on top of lower cowling takes some patience but it will finally get it off. After that I would use some Meguires Scratch X again takes patience I even used my HF 6" orbital polisher and removed all the little spider webs and discoloration on the tank when I removed the safety sticker. I ride a midnight and black shows everything and I was well pleased with the results I achieved but it takes multiple coats of the scratch x just stay with it and you will get it.
  7. A girlfriend of ours needs a new chain and she is on a budget what would be a good brand of chain without spending a arm and a leg. Shop quoted her 300 bucks installed but I'm pretty sure I can put it on. 1999 Honda VLX 650 or 600 cc Thanks
  8. Glad your back and not just so we can pick your brain. I agree things had gotten a little heated and down right rude a few times and I found myself disappointed really thought we were better than that and I'm just as guilty because I didn't do enough to make it better. But anyway that's water under the bridge and if there is anything I can do in the future just let me know.
  9. Glad you two are alright we were riding the same type of roads here last weekend thought I was being over cautious down shifting so far on those 15 MPH hairpins glad I did now. Sorry but looks like a lot more damage to the trunk and passenger backrest than scratches maybe just the pic but looks like there might be some internal damage the way there mated together there.
  10. I made my own and installed them easy job. They do improve slow speed handling a 1/4 " shorter link will raise the rear of the bike 1". I'm 6'3" so that's not a issue but did make it a little harder for the wife to get on and off. It will increase the lean angle on the stand and there fore make it a little heavier getting it off the stand. If you are a little vertical challenged there are some threads on lowering the front 1" which accomplishes the same thing. But I like mine
  11. Looks like you got some good tips there Jeff the only thing I can add is it's not as bad as you would think. First Three days of our Charleston trip was in the rain. The worst part to me is the blowing water from other vehicles than the actual rain. As far as gloves go I picked up a cheap pair of neoprene gloves at a sporting goods store the kind you might use for duck hunting or fishing they give you a good grip and keep your hands warm. When it comes to standing water the places I would worry about are in the parking lots or side of the road pulling off Kinda hard to tell how DEEP they are if you have to know how I know this will start another thread. But that water is standing there for a reason. When it was really pouring I was glad I had the trailer I felt like it increased my profile size from the rear and the extra lighting gave me some comfort from being rear ended. Oh and my humble opinion when it's really wet a little pressure now and then on the brakes to keep them dry is not a bad idea.
  12. Glad your ok Jeff:cool10:
  13. I just knew you wore the APPLE BOTTOM jeans:stirthepot:

  21. I changed my email password a few weeks ago and i have either forgotten it or it wont work now I'm usually always logged into when I get on so I haven't had to use it. Until today after the power went out. I've tried all of yahoos tips and nothing works
  22. Thanks guys not definite yet where we are going just trying to get some kinda time frame for the time we have off. I was expecting to work Monday but we moved on to Red River Army Depot and they don't allow contractors to work on Holidays. Now I got time off and no plans.
  23. Thinking about heading out to ride the three sisters or twisted sisters. How far from San Antonio is it over to there and how much time should be allowed to ride them. Kind of last minute trip also wondering how crowded it might be on a holiday weekend.
