  4. I figure with being able to repack my swingarm bearings myself and one tire change front and rear at home myself mines paid for.
  5. Surely Hoppy will have a diagram in there instructions has to the function of each color.
  6. Well don't forget us Southern Engineers
  7. I think the only time my banner changes is when I refresh page or what I usually do when finished reading a thread is click on todays post. Not complaining just saying.
  8. Steve the Hoppy I used had the convertor part marked as to what wire and color went to what. I just took the wire marked for brake light on the convertor and hooked it up to the corresponding color provided in your wiring diagram. If you need me too I could take my seat off tomorrow and write down what is what.
  9. My nephew just graduated from A&M @ Galveston Tx. as some kind of marine engineer. Anyway he builds stuff instead of blowing it up but hasn't been able to find a job in his field.
  10. Per Earl's recommendation I've installed the Kevlar pads on the rear of my 07 and I have as yet not locked up the rear tire since in panic stops as I had done in the past. I did rotate or swap inside for outside pad on my last tire change they still wear faster on the outside side. Not sure of the mileage but somewhere over 6k still have a lot of pad left. My only complaint with them is a little more brake dust but I can wash it off cheaper than replacing rotor.
  11. I think there is some connections under the passenger seat for the intercom and cb if so they may need the same treatment as those under the fairing.
  12. Glad your here to talk about it. I see your not that far from me I live about 60 miles south of Mena. Like others said wait and see bikes can be replaced.
  13. Well bye then just don't come back when you need to wire that vic up for a trailer. Hope you reconsider and stick around would like to hear how you and the new scoot are getting along.
  14. Someone showing there age I wanted one so bad as a kid but settled for trail 70 just so i could get a bike and I still have it.
  15. Wow who da thunk it better beer, better breeding, better food, and better health what more could you ask for.

  18. You want to ride or work on it. My stick with your plan to get a good used V-STAR.
  19. Good call We keep all of that Info. in a red plastic folder with a clear side to be able to view. Well it was actually made for medical info with and adhesive side but for other applications like refrigerator. It's like 4"x 4" and thin and tucks nicely under the top pad of our helmets and remain visible once helmet is removed. I just hope in the event it's needed and I or my wife is out cold that it's a trained professional that removes my helmet and not some well intentioned person.
  20. Barry I'm about 1 hour to 11/2 hrs from you would be happy to help you out. Ride it up here this weekend and will take care of it. But if you have the time ride it to Kent's place before he moves to New Mexico.
  21. My favorite but I eat the Malt O Meal brand cheaper and no different and I can still get my daily allowance of foreign metals
  22. Never got the reminder. But I got it paid late after Boomer CPO tried scamming me into paying at the DQ so check with him he might have a stray pygmy lurking
  23. Yeah me too great thread and awesome looking ride.
  24. Steven I really appreciate you taking the time to post this series and your writing style. I have enjoyed reading them but to be honest I have really been turned off of the long distance riding thing. Mainly because of a lot of the comments from others about there superior riding skills there inability to discuss riding speeds and other macho comments which caused me to stereo type LD riding in general and not in a very positive way. Will I ever try it out, I don't know but you have made me take a second look at it and I thank you for that. Keep Up The Good Work
