  1. If it was polished once it can be polished again and again the stainless won't be flaking off either if neglected like so many chrome pieces do. I never understood the importance of having billet alum. chromed instead of just polished. Slowroll makes a great product and well made I have both the carb covers and twinkie covers and they look great. If they do dull it's simple to remove and re polish but with proper care they last a long time and never rust.
  2. I watched a commercial last night for a Yamaha V MAX outboard V4
  3. If I had the talent to make something like that I would make a mini Airstream to go behind my bike. Now that would be cool. Saw a bike in Pigeon Forge pulling one that looked like a Vet and also the mini horse trailers.
  4. Not trying to cut anyone out but I like Eck's Idea with a little twist. Auction some of those copies for St Judes betting there is more than a few that would like a copy.
  5. Congratulations from all the additional information you have posted since your first posting you should be fine. Don't take any of the negatives posted about your deal as anyone thinking your getting rip off. This bunch just wanted you to have all the info you needed to make a decision. Sounds like you got all the bases covered. Now if you could just do something about this weather so we can all ride that would be great LOL.
  6. Good luck I was off a little on the NADA thanks Mike but I don't think it's to bad a deal with or without the tires. But hey it's the middle of winter he ought to be ready to deal. Unless he is a really great dealer the farmer probably didn't get near that on trade in. Ps Check on the original sales date you might get lucky and have a little bit of warranty left
  7. Just read your other post and just my without the luggage rack and driving lights I would definitely go for the new tires or try and negotiate on the price a little.
  8. Sounds fair but a set of new shoes sure would sweeten the deal just point out to the dealer how old they are and ask him if he would ride on them. You might just get a new set. Pretty sure 10,500 is over the NADA book value but considering the work he is going to do would offset that unless he just runs some Seafoam through the carbs and changes oil. Go for the new tires even if there new OEM's
  9. Hey Mark I'm planning on doing the same thing Looks like a Win Win for the 2nd gen bikes. By the way I grew up in Hurst have you lived there very long. Vincent
  10. Well my bad I missed that lil tidbit of info.
  11. Check the VR classifieds someone had a set of Harley slipons that hadn't been molested listed just the other day. Should be a lot quieter than those 4x4's
  12. Wow Bruce that could have been kinda hairy. You needing a new seat cover now. Glad you missed all the obstacles.
  13. Best of Luck Mike and Kat
  14. V7Goose had a post about bypassing the fuel pump and running on gravity feed in a pinch. If it will run on gravity feed after shutting down then it would lead me to think it was the pump. It couldn't be that hard to rig up a bypass just my

    My wife

Hey Roses smell like poo poo
  16. That was Impressive thanks Jeff. I would imagine he machined all of his bolts making cap bolts would have probably added several more hours. Notice how everything was torqued properly. Sorry Bob no spark plugs here probably won't need any Seafoam either.
  17. Wonder what kinda oil he uses Think I would prefer mine fork mounted but I'm a 2nd genner so what do I know
  18. Looks like a heads up race to me. No dial in times on the bikes but your right from light "A" to light "B" reaction time has nothing to do with it. You could sit there 15 min and still run 14 sec 1/4. Pretty sure you would have had your by then.
  19. Anybody notice the reaction times Gw rider had 2.something the last run on vid I think the RSV guy had improved to 3. something last run but was still slow off the line. First run the RSV shifted to 4th gear way to soon can't remember top speed. Slugs or not looked like fun reminded me of the days at Greenvalley Raceway in my 69 mustang trying to bracket race.
  20. If they really knew you they would keep it for life. Strange place to post this :rotf:
  21. Was poking fun earlier but it's not so funny now. Just the other day I hauled a brand new gas tank of a Briggs that I had been moving around for years I came across it on my cleaning spree and on the load of scrap metal it went. Would have been perfect for this already had the petcock mounted on the tank. Didn't even think about it till Don mentioned it.
  22. That bike looks so rugged and yet it is still so cool. Should be right at home in west Texas. Have fun and keep us updated.
  23. How about and Ole Red Enema bottle full of Seafoam that ought to give it a good douche. Sorry couldn't help it but it might work You could even mount a pole on the bike for test rides just sayin
  24. . We admit we do need more Lessons from our kids on how to make all this stuff work... Nothing is free. We pay about $125.00 a month for internet and TV service from Shaw. Well I have been paying almost $70 a month for a land line that's hardly used and DSL. Almost $80 to dish network for years until we dropped to the basic package 2 weeks ago. So I could potentially save enough money in 2 months by dropping dish network completely to pay for a new blue ray and a new antenna ( for local channels and news ) and finally get my moneys worth out of the phone company for internet and be able to watch what I want when I want that's almost priceless. da HOPPER
  25. I don't know if I could handle that much freedom I've become so dependent On someone else telling me what I'm allowed to watch. Wait Think about it. Don't go there:no-no-no:
