  4. Mike your ballon is orange because it is your location, mine is orange when I look a while logged in, yours is blue when I look at it logged in as me, as I am sure mine is blue when you are logged in, unless of course I am logged on then mine would be green, if you were logged on when I looked yours would it be green. Got it?
  5. Point of clarification, if you have a 1998 Tour Classic as stated in your original post or a 98 Tour Deluxe as your signature indicates, and have a 4 to 4 exhaust set up you do not have the stock pipes for that bike, they may be stock Yamaha mufflers , but they are from a different Royal Star model. All of the 98 TC and TD came with 4 to 2 set ups. None of this helps you with your question, but I will urge caution about modifing the mufflers, once the are done you cannot go back and replacement mufflers and pipes for the early Royal Stars are vey scarce. Some have done that mod and liked it while some have and hated it.
  6. There really is no place "close to" the Cabbage Patch, you would need to got into New Symrna Beach or up to Port Orange, Lots of good places in NSB or Edgewater, NSB is about 2.5 , miles east of Cabbage Patch, Edgewater a few more miles east and south, Port Orange is about 13 miles north.

  9. I will be around seing as I live only 25 miles south, much depends on work / travel schedule, last year they had me gone somwwhere all week, normally do get oit on Friday afternoon and some on Sat and Sun. But to be truthful, after nearly 20 years of doing it I getting tired of seeing the same vendors over and over. The people watching is good there is always something new to see in the crowd.
  10. You could try sending them a PM thru the website, I am just not sure when thw PMs are delivered, if immediatly with a pop up or the next time you refresh with like clicking new messages. Try sending me a PM next time we are both on atthe same time and see if it works.
  11. Found this post over on the Delphi Goldwing II forum. Have not tried it, cannot vouch for it, just thought I would pass it along. Not sure I have a need for it here in Florida, but may do it just to check it out one day. Cross posted from GL1800Riders.com GL1800 Remote Starter Feature Being that it’s too cold to ride, I figured I’d take the Wing in for a checkup. While it was in the service department, I had a rare opportunity to hang out with the mechanic as he did the requested service and he shared with me a feature of the Wing that I never knew was there. He said he’s seen it on the ‘net but I never have so I thought I’d post it for those of you that don’t already know about it. The 1800 has a remote start feature that utilizes the remote key fob. Once it is programmed it works really well. Nice for those of us in the colder climates, the bike will be warmed up when I get to it. I won’t have to sit there and warm it up so it doesn’t stumble as I pull away. The mechanic said that Honda was planning on having it as a feature but with everyone being so lawsuit happy they backed away from having it in case a sensor switch went bad or something and allowed the bike to start in gear. (damned lawyers ruin everything) So, instead it is an “unsupported feature”. There is no warranty coverage on this feature, officially it doesn’t exist. Sort of like the opening ceremony option. Anyway, he did mine for me but I wrote down the program sequence to pass along. Here it is…. With the key in the LOCKED position and the trunk open, press the CALL button on the remote. When the horn sounds press UNLOCK.. Immediately press CALL again. When the horn sounds hit UNLOCK. Hit CALL one more time and as soon as the horn sounds, latch (close) the trunk and within 3 seconds turn the key to the ON position. When correctly completed, the CALL button becomes the REMOTE START button. Resetting the ECU or disconnecting the battery resets the CALL button to its previous function and the process will need to be repeated to make it work again. The bike must be on the center stand in neutral and the fork must be locked for this feature to work. Once the bike is running, you must insert your key and turn the ignition switch to ON before you take the bike off the center stand or it will immediately kill. Works great! Try it, you’ll like it.

  14. Dion, Planning on the ride Saturday, tried everything you suggested, except the straight wiring 220, not an option. The control board is out and ready to ship as soon as I get an RMA. Barry, Happy New Year right back at you, hope to see you on Sat. Funny the service center for NOVA lathes is in St Pete, last time I had a similar problem, I asked if I could hand deliver the unit and they do not allow visitors.
  15. The weather just got right to start back with my woodturning, got about 1/2 way thru a Marblewood bowl, shut the lathe off to check the work and now it will not start again. Fuse is good, power is good to the outlet. Switch is good, suspect the relay that I hear click in each time I power it up is bad, it is mounted to a circuit board so it is not like I can just swap it out, the lathe is a 4 year old Nova DRV with an electronic brain for controlling the speed and sensing overlaods and out of balance situations, so there is not much I can do with it until I get a Return Goods Authorization from Teknatool. I geuss they are still on holiday break because my online trouble ticket has gone untouched for about 3 days and phone calls to the engineering tech go straight to voice mail. I would go for a ride rathter than vent here, but it is raining, Drat the bad luck all around, at least I am not at work. Guess I wil just have to wait for the tech service department to come back from holiday. Just venting that is all.
  16. Agree that the leak is probably coming from the valve cover gasket, you may be able to loosen all the screws maybe a a 1/4 turn and then reseat, also a little bit of Yamaha gasket sealer may help. Is the smoke blue, black or white? Blue indicates oil is burning. Black indicates a rich fuel condition. White is normally steam and indicates moisture in the pipes or mufflers that is being vaporized as the engine heats up. If blue and it stops after a while it may just be a valve guide seal leaking while the bike is stopped and setting for a while, letting oil drain into the cylinder. Just some ideas.
  17. Where is the smoke coming from? Is it comming out of the tail pipe or is it coming off the external surface of the engine or pipes near the oil leak? The answer should help us try and diagnos the issue.
  18. Check here Delphi Forums Login - Welcome! Please log in. and look arounnd for TankerHank Delphi Forums Login - Welcome! Please log in.. He did it to his 06 Venture, but he also modified the intakes and I think he rejeted to get it all just the way he wanted it Hank is pretty creative, he also managed to stuff a Venture motor into a 96 style Standard Royal Star a number of years ago.
  19. Very nice, have fun.
  20. Rick, When I had my Venture I installed one of the Kuryaken LED meters, I made up a break out jumper harness that hooked up to the two pin connector on the "cigarette lighter" inside the fairing. Added a two pin connector to the meter harness and just plugged it in. I made a small "L" bracket for it and went to Home Depot and bought a rubber lined "ADEL" clamp that would fit around the handle bars, bolted the "L" bracket to the clamp, stuck the meter to the bracket and there you go. Here is a link to a photo of the jumper harness. Venture In The Fairing Jumper Photos by royalsteve | Photobucket
  21. Saw those last year at the AIM show in Orlando, looks like a blast and pretty fast also.
  22. While in the Air Force and later with McDonnel Douglas Peace Sun program I worked as a gun plumber for the M61A1 20 mm Vulcan , a 6 barrel cannon. M61 Vulcan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia So I picked M61A1MECH as my screen name, had the privelage of maintaining the guns in both the F4E and F-15 C/D.
  23. Glad to hear you are both OK, had a near miss with a deer at few weeks back myself and you are correct the God we serve is great and merciful. Heal fast and be well.
  24. Probably safer to hit the slag with a good file, then touch up the paint when done to stop the rust.
