  1. Most likely need to sync the carbs after you do the mod to your pipes. If that don't do it, then the ASI mod. When you said Baron's thought you were going to do the 4-2-4 , those are loud.
  2. Every time Mechanic and I get on the bike, we kiss and say I love you. We just never know when something may happen. Last week a member of the local Southern Cruisers lost her life and he was seriously injured, hit a deer coming home from Myrtle Beach, and less than 10 miles from home. We rode with this couple one time, but Mechanic and I both felt like we had lost a close friend. But we are not going to stop riding, we made to many friends because of the bike, and we are not trading that for anything. So I agree with the others, take some time, and get back on the bike when you feel at peace. Ride Safe

    RSV Chirp

I didn't hear the chirp but I did hear the whine at the start.
  4. Like most here, I get on first, spread the feet a littler wider, then tell my better half I am ready, then here is the most important part, she taps me on the shoulder to let me know that she is getting on, and if she does not here me say Okay, she waits.
  5. Okay, now why didn't you say what 86r thought of your new ride? :confused24: Could it be, naw, that maybe the ride is not as good as we are led to believe
  6. Hey Kit It was nice meeting you yesterday. Yeppers your bike does have more "Cricket" than mine. By the way, my clutch basket is original '05', bought back in Nov 04, so I do not believe they made the "I" basket back then. One thing I did notice after parting from you, if I am in the lower speed of a gear, the noise is there, which tells me to downshift, when I did this, noise disappeared. By the way are you riding anywhere today, Bobbie is finally making the "Bearrocks" this morning, yesterday, when we got home the dough was baked. She had the wrong setting on. :rotf::rotf: So even a good "Mechanic" gets it wrong once in awhile.
  7. I change mine every 8,000 to 9,000. I did it just because the manual said so, now I find my self looking at all the cables and such that is hidden by the gas tank. Besides, just a piece of mind, knowing that if the plugs are looking okay, then most likely nothing is wrong on the inside, and at a 1.50 per plug, I like the piece of mind.
  8. I noticed the buffeting also when riding by myself, which is not often. So I think the extra weight helps
  9. Told you so, they are a good vendor.
  10. Isn't that why they may the RSTD ? :stirthepot:
  11. Thursday I cannot go. Way to much work to do for the production upgrade coming this weekend. I did have a few hours Saturday morning, but that was it. I definitly wanted to hear the noises you are speaking about. Keep us informed.
  12. So who is the Yamaha dealer? If it is in Sumter, then I would like to ride along. What time would you be leaving?
  13. I would be getting my money back or get one hell of a discount somehow. Have they not been in contact with you as to the delay? Especially a 6 month delay? Maybe the "DON' here needs to have a little chat with them considering they have a very high recommendation here.
  14. Actually it was what I expected for the fall, especially since Daytona Bike week is coming up shortly. Figured most of the vendors would not be at Myrtle like during the spring rally. We did see four 2nd gens, one 1st gen, and 3 RSTD. We just went during the day anyway just for the ride.
  15. Kit We need to get together because I am not sure what whine or chirp everyone is talking about. Right now I am running 10/40 Mobil1 Motorcyle specific. Also, where did you get the Roadhouse mufflers ordered from? What type are they? All the ones I am trying to order from are back ordered until October 30.
  16. I am glad you had a great time. Sounds like the makins of another WildHair. :rotf:
  17. Here is the secrete hand shake
  18. Anyone going to the beach on Saturday October 6 ? Bobbie and I are going. So if any of you want to meet up for lunch or whatever, let us know.
  19. See there is the difference between Canada and the US right there. Ft. Collins was out there for all to see, no hidden agenda:whistling: But are the Canadians letting everyone know what is going on? Nope no way, all secretive.
  20. Okay, I read it, but I will admit very fast, so what is the bottom line, to use or not use Lucas Motor oil additive?
  21. What gets me about this area, I cannot find a good fried catfish place. All I heard about before coming down here was how the fried catfish was superb, not. I have yet to find one restaurant that even knows how to prep a catfish properly before frying.
  22. Bobbie is now calling it her "Toy Room" But Riderduke, you have forgotten about the secrete room, be sure to bring your fun toys (ooop tools) :rotf:
  23. Hey, I never called you an 'Old Nag' You were alive an kickin last night , don't know about today though. :rotf::rotf:
  24. Hey Kit, I bought my bike from Powersports, but after trying to get warrenty work done and fighting with them, I took my bike over to the Yamaha dealer in Sumter. I have yet to have an issue with them about anything. I do my own work except for the warrenty stuff, then I let them have at it. By the way, are you coming to the South Carolina Meet and Eat on Oct 27 ?
  25. Non so far, I am on my second front tire with AVON and this size.
