  1. Mechanic and I went to Huntsville AL for the Easter weekend. Stop in Atlanta Friday morning and had breakfast with BlackJack. Was great seeing you BlackJack, we will be there next Saturday too. Then had breakfast Saturday with the Huntsville area Venture rider gang. Mechanic said I could go play with the boys. Oh boy, didnt get back until around 3pm Was great meeting and riding with the gang through Tennessee and Alabama. Tried to talk them into going to rescue the 2nd gens castration party, but no takers. Bet if we knew about them RIBS earlier, we would have made it. This was a great ride, no rain, tempatures were just right. http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanic%20Alabama%20ME%2020080322/ Oh, since the Mechanic was not there to take pics on the ride with the Alabama gang, you all will have to make do with my pics. :rasberry:

  8. Below are videos of the damage hitting around Dave38x, but when I talked to him last night he and his family are okay, and not much damage. This is about 8 miles from the Texas Roadhouse that we have our M&E at. +Moore+reports%2E&d1=149567&redirUrl=www.wistv.com&activePane=info&Launc hPageAdTag=homepage&clipFormat=flv'>http://www.wistv.com/global/video/popup/pop_playerLaunch.asp?clipId1=2294052&at1=News&vt1=v&h1=Destruction%27s+clear+to+see+in+Elgin%2E+Stewart +Moore+reports%2E&d1=149567&redirUrl=www.wistv.com&activePane=info&Launc hPageAdTag=homepage&clipFormat=flv> This other link is shows the hail piled up south west of us and one of the tornadoes. http://www.wistv.com/Global/story.asp?S=8021749 Where Mechanic and I live, we got lucky, just some mild rain.
  9. Hmm, looking at getting a V-star 1300 for the Mechanic for just riding around locally, but on the longer trips she will be on the RSV with me. She will be taking the Motorcycle Safety course in April, then get her license again. She had one long ago, but never kept it renewed.
  10. If you remember the movie "Cool Hand Luke" and the car wash scene Shame on you for getting her a black pickup :stirthepot:
  11. How much do you want for the bike ??
  12. A very nice ride up to Lake Lure, NC. Sunny, birds singing, bugs splattering the windshield, Mechanic takin pics on some twisties. http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhakws%20Mechani%20Lake%20Lure%2020080301/ :cool10:
  13. Have an Uncle up in Kansas belongs to the Moose. He has been trying to get me join for years, but wearing them antlers , I just don't know. :rotf: But I do know they have a great once a month Rocky Mountain Oyster fry and darn good, plus dancing on the tables, ask Mechanic. :whistling:
  14. New bolts come with the Barnett package.
  15. I put the Barnett in mine about 4 weeks ago, and so far no issues at all. I bought mine from Buckeye Performance. His kit comes with the fiber plates, wire and gasket. 1. Removing the old gasket is the biggest pain in the ### . 2. Take a few minutes before removing the plates. There are two dimples or notches on the plates and they line up with the two marks on the clutch basket. These have to go back in the same way. 3. If you get the new fiber plates, soak them in oil first. 4. The metal plates rough them a little with some very fine emery cloth. 5. The wire is a little tricky going back in but it seats in a groove. If not seated properly, you will not have enough wire to slide into the hole. 6. The Barnett pressure plate does not have any markings on it to line up with clutch basket indicator (you see this with the old OEM part). You have to rotate the plate until you can work the clutch were the plates move in and out. Since this was not in any of the write ups, this was the most frustrating part for me. 7. Do not overtighten the bolts on the pressure plate.
  16. This is one magazine I do love to read. They also cover the Victory line. Motorcycle Cruiser http://www.motorcyclecruiser.com/index.html
  17. Just go with the Flander Bar Kit conversion from Buckeye Performance A totally different to feel to the bike, a much more relaxed position and with slow speed maneuvering (and I have the narrower front tire for sometime) even better. No more pain in the shoulder area. :cool10:
  18. Here are a couple of pics from the South Carolina M&E. I think the warden was not there :stirthepot:
  19. I did not put the OEM bar weights on with my grips, but found during the ride home a little bit more vibration. I bought and put on the Kurykyn bar weights. No more vibration.
  20. Great Video and song I want one of those shirts. Where do I get one
  21. Kit is coming over here around 7 to 7:30 am, then heading out on 378 over to mrytle beach. Missed having you on the ride.
  22. Well, just looked up Illinois Motorcycle laws. Basically no different than most states. No helmet law and modulating headlights are allowed. So what is Illinois supposedly restricting? Here is the link to their laws http://home.ama-cycle.org/amaccess/laws/result.asp?state=il
  23. I use the following for my F150. They may know of a good forum for Ford cars http://www.f150online.com/index.cfm
  24. Here is the link for the part. Also used two #36 o-rings from Home Depot. Also, the top throttle cable has a small metal bracket that replaces the OEM bracket, but I thought there was too much slop there also, so I put I small o-ring (split the oring) there between the bracket and throttle housing. When screwed down, no more slop there. Hope this helps. http://www.jpcycles.com/ProductDetail.aspx?PID=500-902&source=08harley
  25. I had to show him the proper technique in getting a good shine. Of course the Mechanic was telling me where I had missed some spots. :rotf: But you're ride never needs cleaning
