  2. Flowers are bloomin, trees buddin out. Just a great overall day for a ride. http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanic%20SC%20Muskgrove%2020080217/
  3. Okay, I have to bite. Just why can't you travel through Illinois legally? When I go to Kansas, I go through Nashville up to St.Louis, then across Missouri.
  4. to Mini-muffin for not being to bad a warden to Muffinman, he needs all the help he can get, still hasn't figured out how to escape. He should ask the experts Happy Anniversary for many more years.
  5. Get a hold of DAVE38X, he runs with the solo seat on his RSTD. I have not heard him complain about the seat.
  6. Between the yellow and orange (me), I agree, meet but no EAT :rotf: Naw, got to eat
  7. Bobbie and I remember the M&E too. I could not believe you and Leslie made a M&E in Georgia back then, especially a couple from Canada coming in the winter time. Heck I thought you two rode the bike all the way, down, until Bobbie later told me you two had a camper, trailering the bike.
  8. You keep loosing plastic on the NEW Goldwing, you'll have plenty of light shining through, won't be so dark then. :rotf::rotf:
  9. Here are the pics Mechanic took at the Georgia meet Some nice looking bikes. http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanic%20GA%20MaE%20Feb%2008/
  10. Okay, I found that when I click the HOME button, then the Search button, there is no option for the Google search ??
  11. Okay, after talking with Jeff and him being the tutor I did not have to bleed the clutch, but just rotated the Barnett piece from bolt hole to bolt hole until the clutch basket engaged/disengaged. Took out for short spin and checked for oil leaks (none so far). That Barnett clutch is one touchy sucker Thanks all for your replies and to Jeff for tutoring me. Next project will be next year, the shims need to be checked, by then should have close to 70,000 on the bike.
  12. Okay, I disassembled and made sure the 2 notches line up on the slot with the 2 marks. Put everything back and tightened to specs. Let out some clutch fluid, but the clutch will still not engage. Can still barely move the clutch lever and the fluid is almost empty in the reservoir. So now what do I do. The clutch was working before except for the slipping that was occurring. Almost ready to put the old pressure plate back in. :(
  13. Okay, followed the instructions found here on the web site that Freebird put for the Barnett Clutch. Now here is the issue, can't squeeze the clutch lever at all. Also, bike was in gear before removing the clutch plates, but now I can roll the bike and the green light for neutral is not on. The only way I can squeeze the clutch lever is have Mechanic put some pressure on the "plunger" that sits in the bearing. So anyone have any ideas as to what I need to do? :confused24:
  14. Nope, cann't afford US currency neither. :rotf:
  15. Do we have to pay for the tickets in Canadian currency?
  16. I think being around BEER30 is a jinx. If I remember right (old age you know ), the first time Mechanic and I rode with BEER30, we were going through Atlanta, bike died going about 80 in the left lane, so coasted over. Yeppers, hit the kill switch by accident because of the big gloves I had on. So me thinks getting to close to BEER30, the bikes want to die :stirthepot::rasberry:
  17. Yeah, but we are supposed to bad biker dudes :rotf:
  18. Hell, I just barely put a wrench to it and the next thing I know the head is laying on the floor. Would have had everything done last weekend but since that happened was taking my time and being sick didnt help neither. Just don't understand why it takes two weeks to get parts for a bike.
  19. I put Kuryakn grips on last summer and the shakes too. Then I installed the end caps that are weighted and made for the Kuryakn grips, no more shakes. I do not understand why the others are having the shakes after using the Kurayakn weights, but my ride does not shake and I did not have to drill anything out.
  20. Won't be ridin this weekend, bike is torn down. Putting Flander bars, new front brake and clutch lines, throttle cable, anti-freeze, new air filters, rear wheel off this weekend to grease everything up. Change rear brake fluid also. Also, don't tighten the radiator drain plug to tight, waiting on that part to come in now
  21. That is one sharp looking ride. I have a J&P catalog just come in. All kinds of chrome and things for that ride. Hope you have a big bank account to get all the pieces that go on that bike. By the way, the last time I road with a GW, could not hear it, what kind of pipes you going to put on it :rotf:
  22. Bought the complete package from Buckeye Performance. Throttle, front brake lines, and clutch line come with the package. The bar lined up that came with the package. I have the throttle lines done. Tomorrow will be the clutch and brake lines to replace and brake fluid, oh boy :rotf:
  23. Okay, I did find the Flanders Bar installation on the Ventures web site. These instructions looked pretty good, but ?? No where in the instructions did it say what to do with nipple on the box housing the cruise control and throttle grip. Looked at the original handle bar and there was a hole for the nipple. So for those of you that swapped bars, did you drill a hole in the Flanders Bar or file off the nipple of the housing? I drilled the hole. Not done with the install, but will finish tomorrow.
  24. I buy the normal plugs at Autozone all the time, but dont know about the Iridiums
  25. SC does have state income tax, tax on autos, tax on bikes, tax on just about everything, but tax on homes is very resonable. Also, living on the SC side is better than the Charlotte area. Flying out Charlotte is reasonable in cost too. But that area does get more ice storms than Columbia.
