I have put 10,000 miles on my K 1200 Lt and I love it. It is the sweetest riding bike I have ever been on.

I have an 86 VR and I hear the whine up to about 60 mph then it completely goes away or the pitch is so high I can't hear it. This is my second first gen and I haven't had that problem at all and certainly not loud enough to be heard by bystanders. Maybe I just lucked out on these bikes.

I may be wrong but I think that that tire holds 50 psi. That is what is on the sidewall of my E-3 on my first gen. I run what is on the tire and haven't had any problems.

That is where a good gel battery comes in handy. I switched to the PC 680 Odessy and have never looked back. The bike runs better and starts better.

Did I just read not to use

I can make that one. My classes don't start until Aug. 15. As for the oil I used Castrol 20 W 50 in my Venture and the clutch started slipping. I immediately changed to Rotella Diesel oil and it stopped slipping after the second change. I thought I had ruined the clutches. -
I have an 86 in almost perfect condition and runs great with 60,000 miles I'll sale for $3000.00 and will throw in a custom made trailer. I bought a BMW and don't need two bikes.

If it is not made for motorcycles it will make your clutch slip. These bikes have a wet clutch. Get it out as quick as possible and don't ask how I know this. -
I purchase a K1200 LT and love it. The only gripe I have is the throttle is harder to turn than the Venture.

Next time you are in a parking lot in the summer put your hand on a black car then put your hand on a white car and you will see for yourself. The white car will be much cooler.

I had a Harley Davidson mechanic tell me that this engine was the design that Harley designed in the late 70s. Harley went with the V-twin and Yamaha used the v-4 design for their v-4 engine. This was from a mechanic that had been with Harley for many years.

BMW K 1200 LT for me. I still have the Venture and ride it regularly.

Been riding ventures quite a while and I have had it vibrate loose on the back of the speedometer a couple of times and have had the cable break twice. I went to NAPA and bought a cable that was cut to fit and crimped on the new end with the supplied wrench.

I know how you feel. I have had 3 knee surgeries, 2 on the left and 1 on the right. All were cartledge damage and my knees locked up on me. I am still riding though and will until I can no longer go and then will trike it.

Don't forget to replace the orifice. If this stops up it will not cool and the high side pressure will go through the roof. If it is a Ford sometimes you have to replace the high side hose to do this. There is a kit you can buy that you can cut the line and install the orifice with compression fittings. The orifice is one of the most important parts of the system in that it separates the low and high sides.

Mountain Home, AR was just voted by Outdoor Magazine as Number 7 in the top ten places to retire. We have a lake on both sides of the town and the bike riding here is second to none. I would be glad to show you around and I have my camper here plugged in if you want to come and look around for a few days.

I just would like to see someone on here that knows these bikes and appreciates them to get it. I am kind of attached to it I guess.

It doesn't seem no one is interested so I will list it locally in the paper. Call me if anyone is interested. 870-405-3693

Hey Dano, yes these are custom exhaust pipes with a baffle installed so that they will talk when you hit the throttle yet quieten down while cruising at highway speeds. I have pulled this trailer some 5000 miles trouble free. Trailere has a dirt bike trailing arm with a mono shock and rides smooth. You can go over speed bumps and can't hardly feel the trailer when it hits them.
