clutch and brake levers for gorilla hands?
Reddog170 replied to Bobcatpat's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I found that in the past when I ran into something like this I would use levers off a dirt bike. They are set up for quick easy grabbing and work wonders on a street bike. Shaun -
Cold Blooded

If mine sits a couple days without starting it needs full choke then when it fires immediately drop to 50% for a minute or so the off. If I run it every day choke then when it fires turn the choke off. Shaun -
I bought a battery bug and ...

Like the idea. I would use small zip ties and run the cable down the wires going to the switches then over to the battery. Shaun -
I am having a couple issues with my bike that I would like some input on. The first is a "popping" sound when the bike is cold, sounds like a bad exhaust gasket but only last for the first few minutes when I start it then goes away. Second is a small backfire through the carbs when shifting from 2nd to 3rd and on up but almost never from 1st to second. Third bad fork seals from factory? My new fork seals seem to be leaking already with less than 100 miles on them. And lastly are the turn signals. They are weird, blink 3 times then a pause then blink 3 times then pause and so on, any ideas? This is quite a list but any help would be rather appreciated. My wife found an 87 for $1000 but I refuse to give up on this old scoot. Shaun

Little sore is to be expected, considering. Glad it is not worse. Keep us posted, Shaun

Been there done that. Get the grease, you will be happier in the long run when you are riding instead of working on your ride. Shaun

Yea go ahead and shoot me a PM. I was just thinking of buying it and then following the original rules. No copying, Shipper pays shipping, and adding a track thread so we can keep track of where it is and where it has been. Also each member that views it also signs it somewhere before it is passed on. I like the idea, just wish the first three DVD,s had not gone MIA. Shaun

I have found a copy of Ride like a Pro on the tail of the Dragon. I am willing to buy it and pass it on, IF anyone is interested. Shaun

Starting to think I want to AVOID the tail of the dragon. Lots of pics of people that cannot figure out right from left. Shaun

Beautiful bike. Congrats. I am sure you will love it and give it a great home. Shaun

Saddle soap. I use it on all my leather stuff, which is not much anymore. It also helps protect it should you get caught in a rainstorm (or should say when). Shaun

That is a good point. My wife got one of those lumbar supports at a truck stop and said it made a world of difference for her. But she has back issues already. Shaun

Looks like I may get a break from the rain near the end of the week. Hope this does not mean my bike will break down. No to worried about that, it is a 1st gen. It may loose a side cover though...... Shaun
