Why does she bogg and loose RPM
Reddog170 replied to Pam's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
A couple things come to mind but they both deal with the same thing- fuel. She is not getting enough fuel fast enough. Do you hear a rapid clicking when you first turn the key on before you start it? Basically your fuel pump may be getting weak, you fuel lines may need replacing (I ran into a situation with a riding mower where the inside of the fuel lines had collapsed) Or it may just need the carbs synced. Just my best guess right now. Shaun -
Man that just sucks!! If it had been me I may not have held my temper as well as you did. I found a shop in Iowa City that seems pretty good and another one that wont even order parts for my Venture saying it is to old to be on the road. So before you give up talk to another shop. Shaun

Well yesterday as I left a job interview I started hearing a weirn high pitched noise. I pulled into a gas station and checked things out. I could not find anything that may have caused the noise. I decided to baby the bike home and really get into things after it cooled down. Well I did not hear the noise again. Got home parked it in the garage and started digging through threads to find a starting point. About the time I thought it had cooled enough my wife got home. That is when I figured out the noise. I had gotten a new cell phone and was not used to the ringtone. She had tried to call hoping to catch me before I headed home. Lesson, always check the phone first then the bike. Thought you might get a laugh out of this. Shaun

A why thread. This is a thread my kids could start. They are always asking why. Why cant I go to the park at midnight? Why cant I have desert before dinner? Why do I have to take a bath? Why do I have to brush my teeth? Why, Why, Why....... LOL. Shaun

Does make you wonder what it feels like to be the Navy Seal that pulled the trigger. To be able to say "I am the one who shot Bin Laden!". But on the other hand you probably would not want to say that to to many people. Shaun

Service of CV joint.

In my experience that is caused by sitting a long time. I would try soaking it in a good oil for a day or so before I pull it apart. Marvels Mystery oil has worked wonders for me in the past. I have used it for everything from mower decks that were froze up to bicycle chains. But if you have to pull it apart do so over a large tub or something, to catch all the parts. Shaun -

If there were any justice, it’s about time this happened... YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2010 when... 1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.. 2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years. 3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3. 4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you... 5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses 6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries. 7. Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen. 8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it. 10. You get up in the morning and go online before getting your coffee. 11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : ) 12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing. 13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message. 14. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list. 15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list. AND NOW U R LAUGHING AT YOURSELF Go on, forward this to your friends. You know you want to.

Hmmm So how hard was it to stop riding and go into work then? Sounds like a great morning. Shaun

T ball is awesome because the kids are playing to have fun. They do not head out with there bat thinking I have to win, we cant loose. The head out with the thought, Yipeee it is my turn!! They do not resent the other team, they are just more kids. As far as I am concerned they embody the real game of baseball. And if you are not playing, stop and watch. It is worth more than what they want for a ticket at Busch Stadium. Shaun

Man I read the title and thought you were talking about me. LOL. You may find it a LOT harder to retrieve the parts than you may think. There is a lip that will help to prevent them from just slipping right out and when you are done you will also need a new pep-cock gasket as well. I will add my vote to just leaving them there. This way when someone says you have a loose screw you can just say, I know, But I can not get them out of the tank. Shaun

I have a really bad hip so I sit leaned more to one side, cause it is more comfortable. Now I try to sit more strait up but just cannot help leaning slightly. My question is what can I do to make the seat a little more comfortable for me. I know there may not be anything but I gots to ask. Shaun

I just saw this on the news. But what exactly does this mean? The war aint over? He was a target, but not the end all. Not trying to be a pessimist, just want the ENTIRE mess over there done with. Shaun

The sad part is that that is what is on my mind when escorting a sendoff, how many of these young men and women will not make it home. This is a reality that we as a country face together. It saddens everyone of us, weather we admit it or not. We loose to many true Americans like this. Shaun

It kinda makes sense. The OP said that he rides 2 up most of the time and is in a hilly area. So If he was using 5th he would be chugging the engine and wasting gas as fourth would put the bike in the power band area of the engine allowing for the needed power for hills and the weight of 2 people (no offense meant) there fore not chugging the engine and wasting fuel. Now if he rode by himself on flats all the time then he could count on the exact opposite results from his test. Shaun

If you notice the rider did duck so he did see it. However I think I will agree that it went more behind the bike than over it. Shaun

Couple issues

I had thought about that just was not sure if it would make them weaker or anything by grinding down the ears. Will try that. Thank You. Shaun -

Yep both sides. Being as it is the first time I have replaced fork seals I may have done something wrong. As far as the popping I am hearing I found that if I shift a little sooner it does not do it. I just find it a little annoying. This old scoot is a lot of fun, I just know it can be even better. Shaun -

Today the turn signals seem to be working right. Maybe a loose connection somewhere. More to come as I get this all figured out. Shaun
