  1. All the young good looking ones tailgate me trying to get my attention.
  2. You still have these cars Ding? I am not that far away that I would not like to ride down and see them.
  3. My Gremlin was one of the cars I loved the best. I had Firebirds, 4wd pickups, Crown Vic poilce Specials.... I always loved that Gremlin. The only two cars to beat me off the line were a Vega with a 327 and a hillbilly in a Pontiac wagon with who knows what under the hood. The Gremmie had an Edelbrock torquer manifold, Holley 650 and Hooker headers. That car ran nice. M50's in the front and M60's in the rear with Cragar mags. I am developing pimples just thinking about those days. I always wanted to throw in a 400, same motor mounts I hear, just wondered about the cooling.
  4. I had a 74 Gremlin with a V8. Glasspacks, Holley carb and headers. My neighbors hated me.
  5. I cut out the back of the mufflers and went crazy with the drill. First two holes that turned to four holes that turned to six drilled holes. I am a reformed Harley drag pipe guy. I went mad I think. I kinda like the rumble of the small block Chevy sound. But as I age I also appreciate the quiet morning runs that do not wake the birds in their nests. I am converting back to stock. Question. How many here regretted drilling their pipes and like the stock sound? Anybody need some drilled pipes?
  6. I have a great air gauge that only goes to 15#. I use a bicycle pump once on the forks and twice on the rear and measure with the gauge. The gauge has a push button air release that allows you to set the pressure as you want. I run 3# in the forks and 15 in the rear. Nice ride for me.
  7. I called Ford and told them of my patronage to thier products in the past. I have owned more than a few Rangers. I was also going to buy a new Ranger near the end of the year. Then I found out they are going to quit making them. Great trucks, they must be nuts to discontinue the line.
  8. It has to be the compressor or dryer. The car is out of warranty on mileage though. We will see what Ford does for me.
  9. I have a 2010 Ford Escape with 63k on the odometer. The AC quit working. I took it to the dealer and he gave me a quote for $3500! Said the system was full of debris and they need to change everything in it. I called Ford and asked for some good will on this repair. I have always owned Rangers and the F series trucks. We will see how well Ford stands behind its product. Happy Friday the 13th.
  10. Congrats. Glad one of us got out of the rat race.
  11. Welcome, I also have a 06 RSTD. Great bike. From what I understand the Pearl White versions run the fastest.
  12. I would have offered her a ride.
  13. Looks like I am going to order a pair. I rarely if ever use the cruise on both my bike and cars. Just never got use to not controlling the throttle myself. Thanks for the info guys. MoS
  14. My wrist is starting to give me trouble and I think it comes from using the throttle on the bike. This item seems to be the solution. Ever use one? http://www.ebay.com/itm/CRAMP-BUSTER-Yamaha-VMax-VStar-V-Max-V-Star-650-1100-/230811191999?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ARoyal+Star&hash=item35bd6b4abf&vxp=mtr
  15. Why do you tempt us? Get a date first for this wonderful place and then tempt us. Maybe I can get to meet Calhoun WV. When we get down there if you have any issues I speak hillbilly quite well. JK.... I love riding in WV.
  16. Turn at Ohio and go south. If you need any help call me.
  17. I am sorry for the loss of your daughter. I am not able to attend this event and wonder if I may make a donation if possible. Do you have shirts available? Thanks, Geo
  18. Last year a Yammie dealer was at the MD. I am embarassed to say I forget the dealships name. Do you think it would be possible for him to bring an Avon Venom for the front tire on a 2006 Royalstar TD and have someone help me install it on my bike? That is if he is coming this year. I know mechanical stuff but never changed a bike tire. I understand this is short notice. Thanks
  19. I buy K and N filters direct. They cost more but I think they work better.
  20. I deserve no thanks. I am honored to give thanks to all the vets that served our great country and sacrified more than I could ever give. I just want to make sure they are remembered in the proper fashion and honored for their service.
  21. Let me begin this post with saying I am laying no blame for the condition of this memorial to the ones who at one time may have been responsible for its upkeep. I am also not looking for any thanks for cleaning up this memorial or the upkeep I will do in the future. I am an Ohio Patriot Guard and damn proud of what I can do for the Vets that served our country. I myself am not a Vet. I am an ex police officer and understand what sacrifice means. My girlfreind and I started walking our dogs at a local University. We discovered a memorial to the Vets of the Vietnam era that was in poor condition. I called the groundskeeper of the University and was directed to who knows who. Some guy called me back and I asked for permission to take care of the site. Sure he says, do your thing. I called the Dean and made sure I had permission. She was very cordial and said she would look into the matter and call back. I am still waiting for that call. My partner Char and I cleaned the stone and killed the weeds. We laid mulch and straightened the flags. I added a proper 3x5 American flag to the site. I feel better now. I have enclosed a pic of Char with our results. What I would like the members here is to check on the sites they know about that may need some care. I will retire in a number of years. I know the PGR would keep me busy. In addition to those duties I am now considering making it an ambition to hunt these places. WW1 Vets, Civil War Vets or any forgotton place. My Uncle Johnny died in Nam. This is special to me. http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w109/chromeandleather/100_2447.jpg
  22. I work in the transportation industry. I know what a truck can do. I respect trucks and give them all the distance I can. Cars are no picnics either. As a former road cop two things come to mind about accidents. The attention factor and speed. But I am preaching to the choir here. You guys ride safe.
  23. I am not the most gentile man around. I lack manners from time to time and it shows. Oh well..... Citibank called me two, three times a week to upgrade my card. This went on for years. I should have just cancelled the card. The unfortunate young lady that called that day hit a nerve. I tore into her like a vulture on a fresh roadkill. She started crying. I kept it up. I had lost my mind and composure I think. I was an animal. I am not proud of how I ripped her apart but I also am not sorry I did it. Then I slammed the phone down. A minute later the phone rang. It was her supervisor asking what the hell the problem was. In most cases I would have explained the situation to him and apologized. I was still on full throttle. I bet that guy still looks under his car with a mirror before he starts it.
  24. Nothing but a Venom on my RSTD. Stick like glue in the corners.
