  1. One can feel sorry for themself or see the negatives in the world as fuel. Example; when taking a college course and it's starting to get old, think about what you will be doing if you don't pass. The key to success is to select a goal, i.e. where do you want to be in ten years? Then list the steps required to achieve it. After that it's easy. Next don't let anthing or anyone get in your way. If you have to work a job or two to get by, then squeeze what you love to do in on the side, that's what you have to do. Whenever the job you love to do actually pays more than the job you need to do...quit one... Thats what I did.... worked at odd jobs(got some fuel), selected a goal, went back to college, got a good job, bought a run down busniess, worked at both the job and busniess, tripled the Bsn. gross, retired at 49... pretty much doin as I please... The only thing I miss about work, other that my friends of course is Free health care.... but everyones soon going to be in the same boat on that, one way or the other... Don't worry about what you can't change. And above all else, don't blame someone else. I've learned that it will only lead as an excuse to do nothing...
  2. Ed Asner commercial? Sounds like this has crossed over onto the political side to me? And we all have been warned (and rightfully so) that this forum has no place for political discussions....
  3. Unless of course one has friends in higher places... Right Kent?
  4. Dang! So... only have 8 lives to go after those hit(s)? Must have had someone looking out for you. I'll second the "Glad you wern't on a bike".
  5. Well............ I for one will not pay the Visa card till after the 21st ... just in case....
  6. I WON'T do the typical motorcycle group/gang thing either. When Skid,Yammeer Dan and I went to Ashville this year there was a CMA member bragging about all these rides they went on. A little further into the conversation he was boasting about him and a couple other friends had to ride from North Carolina up to someplace in WV. "TO BUST A COUPLE HEADS" as someone was horning in on their meth operation... Thinking they were CMA in name only. This is the closest thing resembling a motorcycle group that I belong, or, ever will belong to.
  7. Penny and I Pray for all affected in this tragedy, the victums, Parents and first responders. Think were getting off track again. If permitted, will start a thread in Watering Hole titled Conn. tragedy comments, so people can make non-political comments .
  8. Mine were from a farming community east of Essen on my great grand mothers side and from Hermsdorf (between Jena and Gera) on my great grand fathers side. If I hit the lottery we'll both go... and ride some Ventures over there... LOL
  9. Yes! It can happen. When a friend and I were jumping tires and he came down in a crashing nose dive, the forks definatly moved in the triple clamps. Of course, one of the clamps broke and allowed the bent up forks to move... Guess that don't count?
  10. After reading all the posts involved...yours was one of the shorter replies.... There were a couple of posters that kept respoding to everything that was written. It's a very sad tragedy. My condolenses to the victums, families and first responders involved. Lets honor them by not trying to further an agenda.
  11. I'm jealous... Always wanted to go to Germany. Great-Grandparents on both sides came to US in the 1890's because of the bad times. Enjoy!
  12. Dang! Been off of this site for a couple weeks now only to find out you guys are trying to out do each other? Hope you guys heal up quick.
  13. Buck Roy, First n last deal is a lot better one. less money, less milage, 5 years newer, no work to raise it back up... It would be a no brainer to me.... Plus you could get in another ride........... It's all good...
  14. No way would I flaunt money around like that. Kinda asking to be robbed... Anyone ever watch Second hand Lions? That's exactly the way I would roll... LOL
  15. Theres no way in hell I'd sell a bike in the winter as your gonna take a beating on it. NADA retail is $9232 low and $12,132 high. Personally would list at $9000 and come down a little. If you start at 7200 your gonna get haggeled down.
  16. I wore a stihl out once after many years of service. Took it in to the shop and ed told me the crank seal was leaking and preventing it from starting. as it was over 15 years old bought a new one for $300 intead of fixing old one for $150. They are 2 cycles. If the piston rings wear out it won't even draw enough vacume to pull fuel in. Take spark plug out and put finger over hole. if it can't push your thumb out of the hole it's not gonna start... kinda like Buddy Richs .45 caliber solution as I've personally threatened to Blast a few items to Hell over the years...LOL Life's to short to let a machine get the best of you.
  17. As my Dad was so fond of saying:" Get on it! & Do it again! It will put more people back to work"... lol... Even back in the 70's there was a lack of high paying jobs... Nice Truck though. Personally dislike black cars and trucks, to hot and a PIA to keep clean. Yup white is the way to go, for some reason they don't get dirty as kwickly
  18. Save yourself the aggreviation and buy a Sthil 192 TC or Husky equalivant. When... you get your new Husky stuck/pinched in the wood you will need another to get it out. The 192 is a trimming saw, excellent for anything under 4" although it will cut a lot bigger as it has a 12" bar. nice thing about it is, it's a small saw and very very light... excellent for doing branches(why do small branchs with a heavy saw) AEP uses them alot. So do I.
  19. It could be he quit while he's ahead. All soap operas climax with someone gettng SHOT! to borrow from tx2sturgis... Bang Bang...
  20. some of my stihls are 15 years old. start every time. Religiously use: NO ETHANOL GAS + stabil had the same problem with a poulan i bought 25 years ago. Come to find the head bolts had backed out. tightened down and it ran like a champ!
  21. Is it possible that Penny and your wife are related???? LOL
  22. I likie! We need details... 2002 RSV Hannigan trike aux fuel tank... how much, how many miles and extras? May be going that way myself, in the future. Enjoy my friend!
  23. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
