Liked that dogs "BITE ME" helmet...LOL Ride a bike on snow...? No thanks. Would be more concerned with the drivers around me than the snow. Although, some of my favorite rides were taken in the 30 degree weather with ski gear on.

Here's Pennys 7 point. She got it yesterday around 5 PM. We had a deal not to shoot anything with less than 6 points. Here in WV a person can get up to 9 deer legally(county specific). In places after dusk they get tgether in the bottoms and resemble cattle herds.

You will be in Penny and my thoughts and prayers. May you have a speedy recovery.

Every state I enter, will stop at their welcome center and get a map. Sometimes you have to ask an attendant for one, but have only found one state down south that stopped giving them out. Also have a Garmin with lifetime maps for $150 that is suction cupped to inside of windshield. Carry a large ziploc baggie in case of rain. Use it when going thru the cities to get into the right lane and for that fact alone is a must have for me. Good luck on the trip!

That sounds like a very good price! Geico paid for my bike and Helmet but no saftey clothes like jackets etc. Are they the ones that offers health insurance for $100 for just bike related injuries? Two JACKETS? Must have been a cold morning? LOL Hows those ribs coming along?

Felt that way a couple hours ago. Was going straight thru a intersection(green light) and a big white ford diesel pusher tears around the turn and the driver never even looks my way. I'd have hit him in the side if I hadn't stood on my bakes. So layed on the horn for about a block. Was in the 2009 Corolla. Like to see him try that when the 1 ton 1989 dump truck is rolling, can assure you the brakes wouldn't have been touched and he'd have lost that battle. It needs painted anyway:whistling:

It's always been my practice to ask for the the difference between tradein and retail. My bikes/vehicles are in perfect condition also. No one is going to give you retail price even if you've got $5,000 worth of accessories.(least thats been my experience). The other thing thats going against you is the newer the bike the more you can expect to loose as they depreciate the most the first two years. Also the time of year and the economy. Perhaps you could give them a price with and without the farkels.... you can easily sell the farkels on ebay and recoup 50% .

Kenny, so Glad you are ok. The ribs will feel a little better after a month but it will take months for them to completely heal. Getting older seems to manifest more distractions. Even thinking about work that has to be done for the day has gotten me into some near misses. Heal quickly, the bike can be fixed.

No, you'd get a honda with a cassette deck and carbs...

Post Great crash threads? EUSA1, Thinking whenever someone actually leaves for any amount of time they aren't likely to come back. Perhaps a exit poll (seen only by Don and the moderators) could be emailed to those that let their subscriptions slide? If it was something that could be addressed, it would, if not, a reply would not be necessary. It could also identify recurring themes/problem areas...

Penny and I are going in about 15 min. Will take my mom tomorrow.

Beat down? perhaps. Could possibly have been better stated as "Revenge." http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/05/the-revenge-of-the-steelers-30-somethings/ After being dominated for the first three quarters, the Steelers came back 14-0 in the fourth. Eli is famous for fourth quarter comebacks. Hence the term "Beat down". Although can't find a quote from Eli, before the game he made a remark about the ageing Steelers team and it was commented on by a news announcer in the moments prior to the game. Probably fired up the old decrepid steeler folk... Thinking it wasn't a wise move on Eli's part... As he effectively supplied the Steelers with a huge dose of "TACKELING FUEL"...

Wow, 57 looks like a row of statues... Cool may have to add that road to my trip West this May.

Perhaps... New York Giants (last years superbowl champs) just got a beat down. Question is... can the Steelers(Stealers 1938 Retro BadBoys) stay healthy enough for a Unprecidented 7th Superbowl Championship? Will Troy P. ever be back? Time will tell...
-
Excellent! Especially liked that hopping Stoppie 180 and the kwick kickstand dismount! These kids have no fear. Gotta go practice now...NOT!
-
Kevin, that's a nice lookin bike w sidecar. Hopeully you'll get the bug again and ride. Hummmmm... Could easily see some Pittsburgh Steelers decals on that... Yeah, with a couple more black stripes, it would really make it look "retro 1938". When they wore those "38" uniforms last week, we remarked "they look like angry little bumblebees" and now I see this post... LOL

And then theres "Train Engineers", like my brother Jim(CSX), that brings the other engineers building materials.

Love Old Women AN OLD WOMAN PROSPECTOR SHUFFLED INTO TOWN LEADING A TIRED OLD MULE. THE OLD WOMAN HEADED STRAIGHT FOR THE ONLY SALOON TO CLEAR HER PARCHED THROAT. SHE WALKED UP AND TIED HER OLD MULE TO THE HITCH RAIL. AS SHE STOOD THERE, BRUSHING SOME OF THE DUST FROM HER FACE AND CLOTHES, A YOUNG GUNSLINGER STEPPED OUT OF THE SALOON WITH A GUN IN ONE HAND AND A BOTTLE OF WHISKEY IN THE OTHER. The young gunslinger looked at the old woman and laughed, saying, "Hey Old WOMAN, have you ever danced?" THE OLD WOMAN LOOKED UP AT THE GUNSLINGER AND SAID, "NO, I NEVER DID DANCE... NEVER REALLY WANTED TO." A CROWD HAD GATHERED AS THE GUNSLINGER GRINNED AND SAID, "WELL, YOU OLD BAG, YOU'RE GONNA DANCE NOW," AND STARTED SHOOTING AT THE OLD WOMAN'S FEET. THE OLD WOMAN PROSPECTOR - NOT WANTING TO GET HER TOE BLOWN OFF -STARTED HOPPING AROUND. EVERYBODY WAS LAUGHING. WHEN HIS LAST BULLET HAD BEEN FIRED, THE YOUNG GUNSLINGER, STILL LAUGHING, HOLSTERED HIS GUN AND TURNED AROUND TO GO BACK INTO THE SALOON. THE OLD WOMAN TURNED TO HER PACK MULE, PULLED OUT A DOUBLE-BARRELED SHOTGUN, AND COCKED BOTH HAMMERS. THE LOUD CLICKS CARRIED CLEARLY THROUGH THE DESERT AIR. THE CROWD STOPPED LAUGHING IMMEDIATELY. THE YOUNG GUNSLINGER HEARD THE SOUNDS TOO, AND HE TURNED AROUND VERY SLOWLY. THE SILENCE WAS ALMOST DEAFENING. THE CROWD WATCHED AS THE YOUNG GUNMAN STARED AT THE OLD WOMAN AND THE LARGE GAPING HOLES OF THOSE TWIN BARRELS. THE BARRELS OF THE SHOTGUN NEVER WAVERED IN THE OLD WOMAN'S HANDS, AS SHE QUIETLY SAID, "SON, HAVE YOU EVER LICKED A MULE'S ASS?” THE GUNSLINGER SWALLOWED HARD AND SAID, "NO MAAM... BUT... I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO." THERE ARE A FEW LESSONS FOR US ALL HERE: 1 - Never be arrogant. 2 - Don't waste ammunition. 3 - Whiskey makes you think you're smarter than you are. 4 - Always, always make sure you know who has the power. 5 - Don't mess with old women; they didn't get old by being stupid... I JUST LOVE A STORY WITH A HAPPY ENDING, DON'T YOU?

The brunt of the storm is south east of here. Had it had been a couple a degrees colder, we'd probably have between 6-12". As it was though, the temps never got below 32.5 deg. and was melting as it hit the ground. Power is still on here. Althouggh, had to plow 2" of snow off of the bridge this morning at 6 am. It really is true bridges freeze first. LOL Two campers decided to stay an extra night as there were bilizzard conditions and snow drifts south of Beckley, WV.
