  1. This time of year alot of people will be doing various things to their bikes or other equiptment, in order to get them ready for next year... Make sure you wear proper saftey gear for the job at hand... Specifically....saftey glasses. I just got a shot of carb cleaner in both eyes after having worn them all day. Really wanted to paint my 612 Dozer blade today, had it all stripped down and took the glasses off (they were fogging up) to finnish up the corners and hard to reach areas with my scaler. When i went to clean the debri off of the scaling gun, you guessed it, the carb cleaner went in to my eyes and right now I'm hoping the damage is not permanent... Wear the saftey gear all the time, and above all else .... Know when to call it quits...
  2. spray area with dr shools foot powder spray... thats how i finally found the source of my leaking orings on the carb bowl covers... If its not a bright powdery white... you've got a BINGO!
  3. I have the welding helmet and had the (cheaper hvlp gun... lasted about 10 paint jobs) need another helmet for out at the farm although you can paint the newer paints with siphon gun with small tip/orifice, the amount of product in the air is drastically reduced... with mask I seem to breath a litte easier... Note: For first time HVLP users, Make sure you get something to hold the gun upright...
  4. "Only red on this site is when someone posts a comment using red text. (The canadian and ontario red flags)
  5. or are from CANADA...

  7. Ya really think the House is going to pass what the Senate kicked out? Keep your parachute handy...
  8. Rick, Will print this out, for the trip to Whidbey Island, WA. Going the second week of June for a three week ride. Will stop at Sturgis for a tshirt, but always avoid the place around bike week, as we don't like crowds.
  9. Hey, Whenever I'm traveling and can't get a discount my last play is "do you give a Harley discount"? You'd be surprised at how many of them do... Before you ask, no I don't ride Hareys, but I never said i did... I simply ask a question, and sometimes that saves me cash.... So... I like Harleys:whistling:
  10. Our prayers and condolenses to Joe, his family and friends.
  11. Brian, that looks sweet! Are you sure your gonna be able to take her out and "get her dirty", when the snow starts flyin??? And yes, ya let me down... everyone knows that bike needs the artillary package... Machine gun mounts. etc... Bummer:confused24: Oh well ya could always order later... Enjoy my friend!

Yup.... The logic is sound... The only possible solution would be for Big Tom to GIVE UP ICECREAM! And we know that ain't gonna happen....
  15. That looked pretty sweet! Have to confess though, I spent some time yesterday playin in 2" of snow on my 420 Honda rancher.... goin straight up/down a hill no problem...Ho Hum... Going across one though is where it got fun! I was drifting and the wheels were turnin! WaaaaaHoooooo!
  16. +1 What that bothers me, is he was put on Hi alert when the guy came in with the attitiude. He acted correctly in confronting the guy and asking him to leave. I wouldn't have shown him the weapon, but, the safe would have been off, the weapon concealed, with my hand on it, and would have been ready to fire. That way it doesn't ratchet up a situation. Suggestion: A coat with a side pocket..That's what I use...
  17. You know ya just started Tx2sturgis wheels turning? One more attachment Brian?
  18. Kudos!
  19. might have been posted before but... You can smell the rubber burning as you watch. Must view on full screen. What a ride! What a driver!!! You’d have to wear Depends to ride with this guy! Betcha can't watch just once. It sounds like the little car is running bad.....one reason it sounds like it is cutting out is because the rev limiter keeps the R.P.M.. from going too high and blowing the motor........the other popping sound is the wastegate on the turbo. Also note at the very end, the sparks coming from the rear wheel rims as the tires burn down .. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=4TshFWSsrn8&vq=medium#t=35
  20. What do ya think about leaving the nail in the shingle, as long as you put a good one within an inch of the old one... kinda like fixing "nail pops" in drywall (just put a screw next to the one thats causing the problem) I'm just concerned it will work it's way up(from being walked on) and causing problems.
  21. LOL!
  22. id be more concerned with them being able to tell they didn't hit wood... you can tell it with the first wack of a hammer... with a air nailer, is the head of the nail nail flush, or, does it bounce up a little? When done by hand, I simply pull nail out and install 1/2" above hole and reseal old one. the boards on my roof are also tightly butted together largest gap perhaps 1/8 inch due to contraction of board. I'd go up in the attic and see how many nails you have in the gaps between boards.
  23. Your preaching to the choir my friend... put in a chicken coop roof a few years back. Used 1/2 osb over 2 x 6 x 10's that were 16" apart. the osb was so flexabe that I did not feel comfortable standing on it unless i was directly over a 2 x 6. (hence my suggestion of 3/4 tongue and groove exterior plywood) cons of using plywood: cost, possible void, limited lengths Guess I can live with that... Like to watch Holmes on Homes... GREAT SHOW! And now you can get a coating on the plywood that will make it 40% more water repelent... that, i did not know .
  24. The 3/4 board, even with thin gaps isn't the problem. It's the airguns (not being able to tell if you hit wood) If it's hand nailed you just pull the nail, seal, and try again. My worry with having it done in the winter is ... are the shingles going to get warm enough to stick together? If they don't a strong wind is going to cause problems. Although you didn't really have a choice anyway. Hope it works out for you. Here's a good read on osb vs. plywood http://www.builderonline.com/products/product-pros-and-cons-oriented-strand-board-vs-plywood_1.aspx As YammerDan is so fond of saying: "I'm going back to my corner now"
  25. I'm really glad you posted this. There is a big difference between lighting up the edges of the road and (firing your lazers at on comming traffic and burning their pupils out) LOL Have been kind of jealous of those with the perfect setup (looks like the sun is shining on the area ahead of them without blinding oncomming traffic...) If, you get that look, make sure you let us know, as I will be upgrading my lighting also.
