  2. You know. It might be fun just to see Who or What shows up at Don's house on 6-7 after this runs in the paper. Y'all may have some strange company if they figure out where Don lives :rotf:
  3. Shoot my ship sank years ago and I didn't even know it. Its only
  4. So , Just as a question Brad. What tires are you gonna run on the 1st gen ?
  5.:doh: Jeeze, And I thought Oil threads were long ones. :rotf: Guess we can group tires in there too. Wish I had had some knobbies the other day...
  6. Hey Jack. I thought that looked familiar . Been a year since the first one. :rotf: Just kidding. Its good to bring it up again. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=8158
  7.:doh: I'll take a gallon of the stuff then... :rotf:
  8. Glad to hear it. If you didn't hear any whine then you probably won't. Mine starts whining at any temp. Its usually 25 in second 35 in 3rd like that where its really loud and doesn't seem to make a difference if I just started it for the day or just got back on after riding for a couple of hours and taking a 5 minute break.
  9. I have them now and like Dan said. Depends on your right hand, really could not tell the difference in mileage between these and the Avons. The Commanders are noisy in a turn.
  10. I thought it was something you could spray on the bike and ride in the rain and not get wet... :rotf:
  11. Been there. It probably won't be the last time either.
  12. Thanks everybody. I really just wanted to say. Watch out for the thing your not watching for.... There goes that brain damage again :rotf:
  13. To keep it in a straight line. But 100 ft of inch thick mud was more than I could get thru. Luckily just some road rash and a busted up bike. Weird thing was that 2 horses with their halters still on were just wondering down the median so I moved to the right lane and slowed to around 20 to keep an eye on them. Just as I got past them I saw I was going into the mud so I couldn't hit the brakes or try to swerve. So I guess the lesson here is WATCH for the mud and forget about the horses in the middle of the road... These big bikes will jump right up on them curbs at that speed. Its keepin it on the sidewalk after you get there is the trick.
  14. On each post there is a date and time. On my screen its on the left just above the post. I am using Linear in the User CP under Edit Options then Thread Display Options.
  15. Jeeze, I mean at least on a second gen they have a seat for people to sit on... :rotf:
  16. Lots of fun ahead. But watch it, You ain't 14 again and riding wheelies on dirt bikes. The ground got a LOT HARDER since then...
  17. Your going to turn/lean on a tire that is flat shaped. That puts you on the edge of the tire and not as much tread on the ground. Also an automobile radial is designed so the tread lays flat on the ground while the sidewall flexs. IMHO its just not worth it to me. Nothing wrong with having ideas, some just don't look like they will work, but good luck and be careful while trying it out.
  18. Bout time youi got some tires on there. Last time I saw them there was light reflecting off the inside of the rim... :rotf:
  19. I use an odyssey which seems to be a really good one. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=20629
  20. Did you tell work it would have been way more productive to send you a month ago. And that sending you to Hawaii in January is very productive. At least they didn't send you to Florida in July.
  21. Good luck. They are really basically the same machine. Just in a slightly different package.
  22. Fuel Injection. 1800cc. Reverse. 600 watt Charging system. The current 300 watt system is way underpowered. Better intercom/fm/cb/speakers and lose the cassette.Options ABS. Keep the 5 year warranty. And fix the rear shock "bad design" Point them to this thread.
  23. Not your seat... The Bikes...:rotf:
  24. I have run a few tires with plugs till they had to be replaced. Never really comfortable with a tire after its plugged but that's all the money I had at the time. Today I would probably still run the tire till it needed replacing.
  25. I have a Roadsofa. Its about the same as a Corbin. A hard seat. If you want to give it a try let me know and we can put it on your bike and you can try riding it for a few hours like that. Its silver and gray so I'm pretty sure you don't wouldn't want to leave it on it but it will give you an idea of how a Corbin or any of the harder seats feel. I don't use it anymore after I modified my pillow top and had it recovered.
