  1. Seen in testing at Yamah test track. Already have a scooter (twist and go) version on the streets in japan. also have a test mule based off an R6. Could this and the multiplane engine be the reason for the big delay?
  2. Hello everyone and Happy New Year! My 06 RSTD Midnight has a delay or pause when I hit the starter switch. I turn on the ignition and wait for a a few seconds and then hit the start button. It starts and cranks real good but it takes a second or two before cranking. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced any thing like this and if they have come up with a remedy. I just get a creepy feeling that one day I will be unable to start at all. Thank you all in advance for your help. Bikerdude53
  3. I've got 2 Ventures, an '83 with YICS and an '88 without YICS. Twisting the throttle wide open, the '83 accelerates briskly and without delay from a starting slow rolling speed, but the '88 seems to pause a moment before full on response, with no popping back through the intake or other indications. Almost like the machine is thinking about what the twisting of the throttle is all about. The carbs are clean and well balanced, pilot screws adjusted well, fuel level correct, engine starts quickly cold or warm, and has a nice steady idle. Is this delay just the nature of the beast, or should I expect instant response like my '83? -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA '83 46K miles Avon tires '88 52K miles Bridgestone Spitfire tires
  4. Every thing has been in the shop this week New shock and rear tire on the bike Thank You Warranty !!!!!! Any help with the following would be GREAT.... My 96 GMC Jimmy The dome light will not turn off - Usually there is a delay maybe a minute till it shuts off after closing the door, also the same if you lift on the handle I had notice on a few occasions I look up the dome light is on been driving 10 min or so Open an close the door it goes out .. The first thing I did was remove the switch still stays on No dome over ride as in some later models I came out to a dead Battery twice ,second time I noticed the dome light was on It does not shut off ( pulled the 3 bulbs ) The truck was in the shop They ordered the part ( delay Sensor) We were sent a diagram of were the sensor is located. We had almost all of the dash apart we never did find the delay sensor to replace it Any Ideas ..... Thanks in advance...
  5. Here are the pics, not many, considering, we had a delay of sorts, didn't we Riderduke. :rasberry: http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y262/venturerider/Sleeperhawks%20Mechanic%20NC%20First%20Meet%202009/
  6. I have to apologise to all our members here as I have been so busy with life that I haven't reported the findings of what caused our crash on Jan 2 2008. With out further delay here what we know.... After the tire was professionally inspected, it was found out that I did in fact hit something in the road. It appears to have been about the size of my pinkey finger and completely punctured the casing and zippered part of the sidewall. I have my theories after learning that some of the reflectors down south are spiked into the asphault. Perhaps one of the reflectors was missing or broke and allowed the retaining spike to puncture the tire. I apologise for not posting this up sooner, but I want you folks to be able to make intelligent desicions on purchasing tires. The Michelin Commanders that I had on my bike are not the cause of the accident. If your thinking of buying them I would say to be confident in them. I was pleased with the performance of them, but ultimately I love the Avons and thats what I will buy in the future. Again I apologise for the delay, I hope this helps out anybody that was wanting to hear about the findings before they bought tires.
