  1. IMHO,NGK for Japanese bikes. Champions may be (and probably are)better today than 25-30 years ago, but they never held up for me in anything but lawnmowers and chainsaws. Not speculation, just my experience, and no I can't prove it now.
  2. Hey, I'm using PureOne myself. I was just asking a question.
  3. I was just doing some surfing as came across this. Does anyone here have an opinion about these filters?? I didn't see one listed for our bikes, but they said in the article that they build custom to fit. Just wondering has anyone tried one of these on anything of their own. http://www.digitalprovisions.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=FARKLEMASTER&Category_Code=SCOTTS
  4. Yea that!!! Then, after a a little while, YOU can be the EXPERT for that bike!!! We're not going to disown ya or anything like that! Heck, I might even ask you to let me ride it oneday!!! You know this site..., you ride what you brung!!!
  5. Gonna ride in this evening. It's in the low 30's now. Suppose to be around 19 in the morning. That means it'll probably be around 25 or less on the way home tonight.
  6. Mine work very well with velcro and the little support blocks I received with it.
  7. Take her for a ride on the bike.(RSV) Guaranteed to get a few extra points. Just remember ,one "Oh s**t", cancels out a thousand "Atta boys".

Look at it this way Ted, without the bike , you won't be going dead in the middle of the interstate!!!!:rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf::rotf:
  9. Ditto!! Have ridden IronButt and several 5-6 hundred miles per day no problemo!!

    What does nipplish mean???
  12. I thought I wanted one too before I rode the Venture. They never would bring it on out so I guess that's what kept me from buying one. After I bought the RSV I saw one in the store and started comparing it to the Venture. It looks real good, has a low seat height, and low center of gravity, and the styling was great I thought at the time. But, even though it's a 1700 engine, it has less hp than the Venture. The dealer wanted to argue with me on this so I told him since he had both on the showroom floor to go and look it up. He came back and conceded. I didn't like the way the saddle bags hung so far away from the bike. I guess you have to do this to get the traditional 2 shock styling. Also , I didn't like the way the rear trunk opened up. Pure HD, only flimsier. That would get broken too easy! On the other hand I understand it has some very hitech stuff on it. Fuel injection, electronic throttle control, etc. The kind of stuff you have to pay someone else to fix!!! With all it's modern updates, IMHO, I bought the best bike. Even if it is 10-11 year old technology. And got a cassette player to boot.

    Where ?

    Somewhere over the rainbow.
  14. Go ahead and put them on. That's what you bought them for, isn't it? You won't be disappointed. Ditto on all the above.
  15. I just bought a Nelson-Rigg cover from Motorcyclesuperstore a couple of weeks ago and it has the characteristics you described plus lower panels that are heat resistant. It was one of their daily deals .Cost me $36.00 ,including shipping. So far, so good. I wanted one of the Star covers, but money's a little tight in my neck of the woods.
  16. Outstanding!!!! Yep, this needs to be on CMT and GAC! Thanks for posting.
  17. Ok guys, this is for all you that have shut down for the winter. The day after christmas, Gregg(footsie),me, and 3 of his relatives and friends went on a ride down to Bradenton,FL from Gregg's house in Sycamore, GA. We had a great time!! It was a little cool(mid 50's), but the ride was good. It was mostly cloudy the 2 days we were riding but we survived. From Bradenton we shot back up to Tampa then over to Daytona Beach to spend the night before heading back on Sunday. We had a late dinner(supper for us country folks) at Charlie Horse in Daytona Beach. Gregg tried to eat all their crablegs. We stayed at one of the cheap hotels on North Atlantic Blvd. It was old but clean and had a high pressure shower that felt soooo good after the days lenghty ride. Back at my home I checked the mileage for myself to be 916 miles for the 2 day trip. Thanks to footsie and his friends for letting me tag along.
  18. Hey Don, Sorry about the bad luck. Ditto on the Allopurinol!!! Get it, take it every day until St. Pete calls you home.(That's what my Dr. told me) It's suppose to even help eliminate kidney stones!! Been taking it for several months now and haven't had a problem with gout since. BTW, just in case, you don't get the medication, don't cut the heel shifter off of the bike. You can get in some riding with the heel and toe shifter if the gout isn't too bad in the ankles. Get well my friend!!
  19. I've got the OEM bag liners for the RSV and use them whenever I'm on a road trip. They work very well for me. It does seem at times though that I could get more into the saddlebags without the liners, but it's a trade off for the convenience of grabbing the bag and going into a motel. Thetrunk bag works exceptionally well.
  20. At least 3 or 4 times a day. I love to see what's going on with my other comrades. Hardly a day goes by that I don't learn some new tidbit of info about my friends or their adventures. Merry Christmas Ya'll!!!
  21. You know, I thought I'd like to have one of those new Vmaxes. But if they all sound like that, nope. That thing sounds like it's dragging a #3 washtub with 6 or eight bricks in it!!
  22. I hope ya'll like WWtires. I don't. That's just my preference. WWtires to me looks like someone with a black suit, black tie, black shoes, and white socks with the pant legs too short!! Just not for me.
  23. No CMIKE you're not missing anything. I was just trying to make better use of the cruise control switch, but as I found out, I've got to have it for the cruise control to work properly.
  24. Sounds like a lot of fun. I'd like to go but, can't get off for more than a week at the time. good luck!
  25. I normally try to keep the primary and Auxiliary blight switches in the off position..... I knew someone was gonna catch that sooner or later!! I normally do a preview, this time I did'nt.
