  1. A trip to D.C. from my wife...
  2. Went to the U.P. of Michigan this year with the wife. Frist long ride for me and her on the Venture. She was fine but I'm going to get a back rest for sure this winter. The bike never missed a beat.
  3. http://www.mountguys.com/category_s/2146.htm This is were I got mine from.
  4. How did you wire that up. I got one of those also but I need to make a mount and run the wires...
  5. I also did the 100 LED plug and play tail light. Way brighter then stock. I also changed over my front turn signals to the moon shines (plug and play) LEDs they are also running lights. Also did the same for the rear. I like the fast blinking. I did not us a load equalizer for any of this, will it hurt the bike?
  6. If I remember right Hobart makes a M.I.G. welder now that all you need to know is you metal thickness. You just turn the dial to that thicknes and the machine sets itself (wire speed and volts). Overhead weld welding is easy, it's just like welding flat on a table just over you head. If you can afford spending a little more cash get a T.I.G. welder. Much cleaner welds. Also look at the duty cycle some welders have a lowwer cycle then others. Duty cycle is a welding equipment specification which defines the number of minutes, within a 10 minute period, during which a given welder can safely produce a particular welding current. For example, a 150 amp. welder with a 30% duty cycle must be "rested" for at least 7 minutes after 3 minutes of continuous welding.
  7. I heard from a Yamaha dealer that there is talk of dropping the venture for one year and brining it back with a detuned Vmax engine and a new look. Just like they did with the Vmax.
  8. I'm going to try and make it for a day. We'll see.
  9. No Kyle that was not us. j_berg that would be good we are leaving on friday morning. I'll PM you later I have to leave for work.
  10. Thanks for all the info. It should be a good time..
  11. We are planning a trip to the U.P. of Michigan. Porcupine mts. Is one of the stops we are going to make. What else is cool to see up there? And what route would be the best to take and what places to avoid?
  12. Is there any one in Minnesota that cloud help me change out the clutch fluid and synch my carbs? I don't have the thing to synch the carbs aslo if you can show me how to inspect the clutch that would be great.
  13. Got Bubs on my RSV and I love the sound. They sound like a V-8 at idle and when I get on it they really sound nice. They where on the bike when I got it so I'm not sure if it was re-jetted.
  14. Fluid is brown. I guess after my vacation I'll have to change that...
  15. Havn't looked at the fluid but I will now. Wont be riding for a week or so, vacation.. :cool10:
  16. The handle feels like it's sticking a little on the pull in. Can I lube it and what shoud I use for it? And how do I do it.
  17. Just got a vor-tech jacket from star, going to try it out today and see how it works..
  18. I don't really want to wire any thing, just replace the light. Like I said I'm not an electrician and with my luck I'd mess something up.
  19. I just installed some LED turn signals/running rights from custom dynamics. Now I've got a yellow looking head light. I'm looking for a head light that'll cut the darkness like a knife. I'm not an electrician I just want a plug and play head light that's bright and doesn't draw to many amps. I was thinking about the Piaa lights from custom dynamics does any one have them and like them what one do you have? Part number if you have it also..
  20. I don't think you can use that for the ventures. Some thing about the tranny pump and the gears burning out...
  21. Does any one have any old tank badges they would send me?
  22. I put Michelin commanders on my venture last year and so far I like them
  23. I have a Bell Apex full face helmet. I love it, good ventting. I'm not a beliver in the half helmets. I think that if you go down it wont save your face from getting road rash.
  24. I got mine last year, it's a 2000 and had 15,500 miles on it. I got it for a good price, shop around there are ones out there with really low miles on them for cheap. Before I got mine I was going to look at a 99 for $5000.00 with 8000 miles on it. I was 5 min short on my phone call and some one else got it. But I love my venture, it kicks the sh-t out of my brother-in-laws new harley all day long. I don't even know the wife is one the back cause she sits far enough back that I don't feel like I'm giving her a piggy back ride like it does on smaller bikes. It did take me a bit to get used to the top heavy feeling of the bike but now I can coner with the best of them. The power is crazy out of that V4. The venture is every thing I've ever wanted in a bike.
