  1. Well I now have about 300 or so miles on my new shock. After some adjustments I can say that for the money the Hagon shock is a deal. The ride is plush the the bike handles so much better now. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase.
  2. Just replaced my rear shock on a 99 RSV. I opted to go with a Hagon, great value for the money. $399 shipped to my house. I cannot get over how well the bike rides and sits. For the money I think they are the best deal out there. I will post after getting some more miles on it.
  3. Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I have some studying to do!
  4. The rear shock finally died on my 99 Venture. So has anyone bought one recently and if you did I'd like some input on what to purchase and how much money I can expect to pay. Thanks.
  5. The smell of gas has returned. It only happens after I go for a ride, makes no difference if its a 100 mile ride or a 5 mile ride. I can even smell it when riding at slow speed. Yes the gas cap is tight, is there a drain hose I am not aware of? I do not hava a manual yet. Thanks.
  6. Dealer called me today and said they checked the valve adjustment while they were in that far and all were within specs. He said that I should bring her in at 72k instead of 78k for the next valve adjustment and that should get me back on schedule. Said he was not going to charge me for the extra labor, I thought that was pretty cool. Guess he want to make sure he has a new customer.
  7. Thanks all for the replies. I'm not going to do the work myself and I'm pretty comfortable with the dealer. They have a good reputation and several dealerships in the area. The valves were done at the 26k mark by the PO. I'm just looking to save some cash if possible. I did mean replace the valve cover gaskets.
  8. I have a 1999 Venture with right at 40k miles on her. My valve covers, both of them are leaking like crazy. I'm having the dealer replace them so my question is it to early to have them adjust the valves? I know they are due at 52k but I really do not want to pay twice for them to go in there. Thanks guys.
  9. Thanks to everyone for your replies. Will be out of town for a week but will post my pics when I get back on what I came up with. Really cool forum!
  10. Thanks guys. This gave me an idea of where to go with mount ideas. I know my profile says I have a BMW K75S but I also hava a 99 Venture, new to me.
  11. I would like to see how some of you have mounted your GPS's. Thanks.
  12. Thanks guys. I have checked everything you guys mentioned, and no I do not have any leaks elsewhere in the garage. After riding this past weekend I no longer smell the gas. It has been pretty hot here in central Florida. Will keep an eye on things and report back if it comes back. Thanks again.
  13. Well about 1000 miles into Venture ownership and I have really fallen in love with this bike and this type of bike (Always ridden BMW and Moto Guzzi's). Last couple of times I have gotten back from a ride I notice the smell of gas in my garage. Happens with tank low or just filled up. Can anyone give me any ideas of what to check? Thanks.
  14. Thanks guys. Things I found. Looks like the trunk upgrade was done with big flat washers instead of the square supports. Do I need to change this? The connector was right where you said it was under the ignition cover. The key can be a pain sometimes. I lubed it a little did not really seem to help. Anything I need to be aware of?
  15. Well I bought it. 99 model with 36k looks brand new. Of course it's been raining for two days now. Here is a pic. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/ff142/rcbimmer/Venture/2011-08-08181827.jpg
