it's about time for me to have my hearing checked and my tinnitus looked into. Lady Massey has been saying so ever since i started "Huh?" when she speaks. some of it is selective hearing, but not all, so it's time for an audio-gram.

thanks, guys, i had figured the comments would be like they are. with the collective thoughts and experience here, i knew if there were any weak links in the HF wheel bearings, ya'll would know. i am going to post later what my plans are to get thoughts on the build. i was given an aluminum tool box that will be great for the HF trailer frame that i picked for it. i will go slow and take the winter time to get everything together for the spring. while the RSV has good storage, making a trip quickly shows what you are limited to. some extra room would be welcome.

it is so nice to do business like that. it is what keeps me going back to several companies i do business with. even when prices are a bit higher, it is well worth it.

oh, i forgot - i feel for you. i have been very careful when doing slow practice manuvers. I just let mine fall over when practicing driving it up on to the trailer. doh!!

i am wanting to re visit this subject as i was looking at the HF trailer to put my box on, I noticed a disclaimer on the wheels which said 55 MPH Max. most answers had to do with the scooter. I understand about liabilities and such, but it seems like everyone here who pulls a harbour freight trailer goes 60 to 70 regularly. the scooter is not the weak link here, but the manufacturer's warning i am concerned about. U-Haul has the same sticker & i ignored it whist renting one 2 summers ago. i did just fine. has anyone noticed any wheel bearing problems or having to performe wheel maintenance more often or is it status quo and go for these 8" wheels? the trailer i am looking at probably could hold the 12" wheel, but the kit comes with 8", so i will start out with those.

in my late 20's and early 30's, my ninja and the open air riding was great. Now a few years later, the fairing and windshield are welcome additions.

well, i could be wrong as there are a number of things to go wrong to make the scoot stop working and leave you feeling let down. But the actual physical, tactile and empiracle sensaiton of being let down is fairly limited to the deflation of one or both tires. i know this as i am still waiting on my replacement rear tire.

you could get a dog. but then you'll need a sitter while you take the scoot for a weekend away. best to just hang out in the shop with your scooter while the radio is playing. don't forget about house training a dog, or the food, or the vet bill, or the accident in the middle of a rug that you find by walking in it. the RSV only lets you down when the tire goes flat.

get some warm clothes on, get a bucket of hot water & go detail the scooter. spend some quality time shining the chrome. put on the radio with some Christmas music. Thank the good Lord you have a scooter instead of just wishing you had one. Oh, yea, use water proof gloves.

i can't say exactly what you should do, but a road sign leads the correct path, especially the ones that say Wrong Way, Do Not Continue. then again to my own words - Tips are appreciated for delivering pizza more than non pizza delivering folks may know. I know because - I delivered pizza for 2 separate places. the first place I worked, i was sent on a run that no one else would make as it was in a known bad part of town. went up the stairs to the second floor. the people were nice and tipped me. i noticed the shotgun next to the door & gave an "OK" nod after learning a realtor had given the apt information to the job relocation dept where the guy worked when transferring to La. They were looking for another place to move to. When leaving, i noticed shadows to the left & right of the ground level door waiting in lay for me. I went the other way and had bricks thrown at me, but since i was ready, i made my truck safely with no harm and my pouch of green on my waist. Back at the store, i told my story & was told i did not have to make that any more runs to that area. Tips are appreciated. i took the job to make ends meet. getting to make my own pizza helped defer grocery costs as well.

i am assuming you want the fins to be black from your comments. there is a gun finishing product by Birchwood Casey that will blacken aluminum type metal. this way you don't have to worry about the peeling. It is called Aluminum Black. Link: http://www.birchwoodcasey.com/sport/blueing_index.asp?categoryID=1&subcat=5 Product description - http://www.birchwoodcasey.com/sport/images/Products/15125_sml.jpg Used by gunsmiths to blacken aluminum parts. Restores scratched and marred areas quickly. Fast-acting liquid is easy-to-apply with no dimensional change. Color will vary from deep gray to black depending on alloy. ALUMINUM BLACK is also excellent for blackening name plates, plaques, trophies and other engraved items
