  1. Thank you for the help Freebird, Cb
  2. Cb in M/H. Sorry for my late reply. I used all my Wifi data card for last month. The site that has a foot after you cut off the end is www.motorwerk.com . I just tried it and the site worked. Go to Kaw., then the Versys. I purchased the bike two weeks ago and have already lowered the front and rear. I purchased BOTH stand kits ... the large one dosn't really fit the Venture but the smaller foot will. It works on hard surfaces but not too sure on gravel. Any questions plase ask....... Cb
  3. last week I purchased a "new" 2008 Kaw. versys with 5 miles on it. It has been sitting in the dealers back room for about 3 years. I added 6 ozs and 92 octane fuel and went for a good long ride. I also changed out the 3 years old factory oil. I put S/f in everything that uses gas, wave runners, lawn equip., weed eaters. chain saws, boats and cars. Cb
  4. I am 100 % disabled and a disabled Vet. I don't care what other people think, I even have a disabled lin. plate on my bike........... Cb
  5. I have had 3 fingers broken on my right hand and 5 right shoulder operations so I feel a lot of vibs on my right handle bar. Look for "grip puppies " I have been using them for years, last 5 bikes and my wave runners. About $6.00 a pair, I use simple green to slip the on and then wash all the soap with a hose. www.cyclegadets.com sells them. I also go to Home depot and buy padded work gloves. Cb
  6. Cb up in Mountain home, arkansas. I lowered my bike over the winter and cut off my kickstand yesterday. I purchased a Kaw. Versys 2 weeks ago and lowered it too. I found a foot kit at www.motorwrek.com. Look under Versys , I purchased both kits and tried the large foot on the Venture but it did not really work, so I put the one piece foot on the Venture. It works but some may not like the small foot. I cut the stand with a recipcating saw, no problems. Cb
  7. I lowered my 2005 Venture over the winter and have been looking for a kick stand foot. I just puchased a Kaw. Versys and found a site the has a kit for after you lower the Versys ( which I am doing right now, today). The web site is www.motowerk.com Go to kaw. Versys and you will see the kit listed. I have the kit and and extra foot to see if it well fit the Venture. I will let the Venture site know if it works for all of use that have lowered our bikes and are not happy with the kick stand. Cb
  8. I have a 90 degree metal value on my rear Venture. None of mine "good" pressure gauges worked either. I got a good pencil gauge and that works. Take the bike to the auto store and take some outside and try them until you find one that works. Cb
  9. Hi Ben, I lowered my bike this winter and for $50 bucks take it and also buy him lunch. The rear is a easy and the front takes a while. If the side stand was shotened do you want to sell the stand only ? thanks cb
  10. Hi, I did a seach of side stands and mostly found " checking you oil' and "center stands" Anyway, I have lowered my bike with the barons rear kit and lowered the front. I have found a side stand kit after lowering my new Kaw. Versys and want to try it on my Venture. How much should I cut off or what should be the total length of the stand when shortened. I am willing to start with a little cut off and work my way shorter but it would help where to start ? thank you Cb

  14. Thinking of buying one.... something to ride and leave the Venture at home. Thanks Cb
  15. The last time I had a oil change I went home and made a "dip stick". I parked the bike where I always park it, took a large plactic zip-tie, made a "t" and then checked the oil. I marked where the "full" level was and a few months later I made a mark when it was a pint low. The worst thing is I keep for getting to ckeck the oil, I also for to check the tires air pressure too............... Cb
  16. I was a very "slow " student back in the 50's and could hardley read when I left high school. Then I started to read the books of moveis I liked. Robin Hood was the first and the book and movie are very different. Which is true for most movie/book ideas. I have read all the Sherlock Holmes at least 3 times and all the Nearo Wolf books 5 times. Lord of the Rings a couple of times. James Bond more times than I can count. If you motorcycle try " Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintence " by Robert Pirsig. It is NOT about how to repair your bike but a man looking at life while on a motorcycle trip with his son. If you travel alot with a group of people it helps you to understand where they are comimg from with there point of view. cb

  19. If you have a Classic Ipod you can find a remote at Wal Mart for $30. It's over by the auto strereo installation stuff. Works only for the Clasic. There are a lot of other remotes for MP3 players, start at Ebay to see what out there . I have been using mine for 5 years in the car, boat and motorcycles. I have on the looks like a large watch and works both my Classic and Video Ipods. Cb
