For a minute it looked like the guy was going to toss the empty roll into the toilet!! Mother. I highly suggest putting the lid down in that situation. You never know what is going to accidently fall in, and you have to fetch it...

In the past on cages I have always experienced a slight increase in both gas mileage and HP. Don't expect a night/day difference. They eventually pay for themselves in light of what the disposable air cleaners cost...

Driving Light Issue
bongobobny replied to 91nwl's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
IMHO not a real good idea to eliminate the relay. Switch contacts can become dirty and offer a slight amount of resistance and the lights would not see as much voltage resulting in slightly dimmer lights...- 9 replies

Well, I may not always be right, but I'm NEVER wrong, and in our house, it's over the top, but I guess it would depend upon the application. Generally you want the end to come as close to where you are setting at the time so you don't have to reach as far... *sigh* It's gonna be a long winter!

Driving Light Issue
bongobobny replied to 91nwl's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
With a relay, only the relay contacts see that current, not the switch. The switch only sees what the relay coil draws which is generally less than an amp...- 9 replies

pickup coil info / help
bongobobny replied to bald josh's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Although you may be right about your pickup coils, another trouble spot is the connector from the pickup coils to the main harness. It's a connector about halfway up the frame above the Voltage regukator. Some members have even soldered the wires together along with the wires from the Voltage regulator. Pickup coils come up on ebay every so often... -
Same here! Took off the tank and wired directly to the battery. I use the ram mount for the bike and the suction mount for the car...

My garage is fully insulated and I use a 1500 watt heater which breaks the chill quite nicely. I can get it up to 60 in there normally after a few hours. I don't keep it heated 24/7 but do heat it nightly. It's 12 x 30...
