These engines are pretty durable and chances are you did minimal damage to the engine even with little oil in it. As long as you weren't really revving it up and shut it down after a reasonable time period just fix what needs fixing and put more oil in it and it will probably survive. Even though there was minimal oil in it there still was a thin coating on all the moving parts. Worst case senerio you put equivalent of maybe another 10 to 20K miles on it... Now the broken ears may be a different story.

Awwww, Twigg beat me to the punch! I'm not too sure about that Mt Rushmore though, Looks more like Hitler, Stalin, Mousolini, and Mao Tse Tung... I would love to see that in person! First time I've ever seen a rock concert in a layout!

Unfortunately that is one of the side effects of one of the medications I take for type II diabetes. Vitamin supplements help this as well as good old fashioned red meat. See your doctor or a nutritionist for this. It is very controllable and treatable. You may want to be tested for low testostrone as well...

Yup! You have to first remove the saddlebags. The locks are in front of the saddlebags and you unlock and hit them towards the rear while holding the key in the spring loaded "unlock" position. I advise lubricating the lock prior to trying to use them. Once you finally get the saddlebags off, look along the side rails and you will see an opening about halfway across them. You need a 12MM socket with an extension to remove these bolts. then lift the back of the seat and push it forward a little as there is a plastic tang that fits into a metal slot in the front. Where is Cavan? We have several 1st gen owners in Ontario that would be more than glad to help you out. Hope that helps...

Mine is an '84 with a build date of 11/83. You should be good for the dreaded rear shock mount frame crack! -

bongobobny replied to dingy's topic in Watering Hole
Yes he is! I have a set of 2nd gen rotor covers in my shed that I'm going to match up this weekend with a 1st gen rotor also in the shed to see if the bolt pattens are the same... -

Will RSV front Rotors bolt up to aMKII 1st front wheel ??
bongobobny replied to dingy's topic in Watering Hole
Hmmm, that may be a remote chance Gary. I have a spare set of rotor covers in the shed and an old 1st gen rotor, so I could see if the bolt pattern lines up... -
Ummm, check the upper right corner of my post...

Serious Problem...HELP!!!
bongobobny replied to Brianb's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Yah! That's what I think too! Pull the battery, charge it up, and then take it to Auto Zone or somewhere else and have it load tested. If the battery is bad, spend a little more and replace it with an AGM battery. A couple of the Auto parts stores have them, or contact member Skydoc17 as he is a distributor for DEKA. The second problem could be the stator or the connector for the stator. Get back to us if the battery checks out OK and we will give you further instructions... -
Well, I'm 64 and except for the "Quarter to three" part my wife still loves me! The quarter to three part might mean in the afternoon but not in the morning, I have a hard time staying awake for the 11 o'clock news...

I found my place by zooming out and in, the program can't find my place!! I have one of those addresses that half of the GPS's in the world can't find me. Try plugging in 52 Sunset Lane, Yorkshire or 52 Aristo Terrace, Arcade and see what you get...
