  8. Just here.... I tried Kevlar pads and unlike Dingy, I didn't care for them. Perhaps it was the brand of pad which I used (which I can't remember the mfgr), but I didn't like the feel and how much I had to get into the brakes. My style of riding and how I expect the brakes to feel and the input I have to give to achieve the results that I want is what turned me off from them. I 99% of the time go with the EBC HH sintered pads as I like how they feel and perform. I have yet to wear out a set of rotors, but if the price is good, buy them and try them for yourself.
  9. Merry Christmas Jack
  10. Merry Christmas Ben
  11. As I always do, I look to you, and wish you a Happy Birthday, for this is the reason we celebrate this day. 2011 years ago today you came into this world, and forever changed it. I also want to thank you, thank you for all the blessings I have today, all the people here on this tiny website that make my life much more full. I ask that you continue to bless them, and my family with them. These people are the family I have chosen for myself, and many of them are as kin to me as my own flesh and blood. Thank you for our lives, for the chance to share with each other, and for continuing to believe in us.....Happy Birthday Jesus

  16. Many have hit very good points here Brian. If the battery is over 4 years old or you dont know when it was replace last, and you plan on keeping the bike, buy a new battery. It will take that out of the equation and you wont have to worry about it. 1st thing I would do is clean all the battery connections, positive to solenoid, solenoid to starter, negative to engine ground. Make sure they are clean enough to eat off and tight. Upgrading the fuse block is another very good idea, and should absolutely be done if your going to keep the bike or use it regularly. The slow starts when hot is very common, the original battery cables are too small, and the original starter is only a 2 brush. A cable upgrade to 4 gauge is what I have done in the past and either a Vmax or a 2nd gen starter is a direct bolt on replacement and is a 4 brush, you wont have a starting problem with one of them installed. My number is in my profile if you want to chat.

  21. All the best to your son Bob, I know what a drag it is to bounce down the median. Glad to hear that it's not a life threatening deal.
  22. I had this issue on Zipcodes bike when I had it while he was in Joplin Missouri with FEMA. It actually turned out to be the adjusting screw on the brake lever. It had worn into the push plunger of the master cylinder. I disassembled the brake lever and cleaned all the surfaces off. Then filed the adjustment screw smooth again as well as the mating spot on the plunger. Lubed all mating surfaces up again and reinstalled and it worked like a charm....
