  1. Scott, Welcome to the group, were glad to have you with us...now for your question. Many folks here use an image resizing program from Microsoft, I have it on my computer. Here is a thread that Freebird put up about how to go about getting it done. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1859&highlight=Image+resizing If you have any other questions feel free to PM me and we'll make it happen
  2. Go with the 1300 motor and I dont think that the carb issue will be anything. If you look in the search bar up top and type in "motor swap" it should bring up all the post that pertain to what your trying to do. Here are the posts for it http://venturerider.org/forum/search.php?searchid=422583 This one is for a direct swap that Frogman started http://venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12039&highlight=Motor+Swap
  3. Just wanted to come on and let the 2nd genners know that I have 3 sets of the R/K brackets ready to ship. I haven't recieved emails back from the folks that had been waiting, so these are going 1st come 1st served. Here is the classified ad on the site http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/288/cat/7/limit/recent/date/1157932426
  4. That would help a pretty 'puter dummy like me, anything to be able to learn how to run these things better
  5. The pics of Brad T's bike is how I tie mine down also, I dont go to the handlebars. I also agree with using plenty of straps, I always use at least 4 and many of the time I use 6. I had a bike fall over 1 time in a trailer...that will never happen again
  6. Don, As long as you keep it properly lubed you will more than likely never have issues with it. They Rarely go bad and that I'm sure is from major abuse. I wouldn't even think twice about it and Rick has shared all the advise that you need to know if problems do arise:happy34:
  7. I'm not much on Vette's, always been a Mopar guy, but that is the one style of Vette that I have always loved '63 to '66 with that body style if I'm not mistaken. The '63 was the split window....very nice ride, I'd love to just look at it
  8. Jay, With the vehicle thet you have I wouldn't suggest an enclosed trailer. As mentioned you would need a 7 ft wide trailer as I used Lumberjacks when I pulled both our RSV's to Colorado. It fit both bikes well, but it was still tight getting around them both. I personally would use an enclosed just for the protection aspect, and leaving Michigan in the winter with salt and crap on the road. Even when we used our Suburban to pull this trailer, you knew it was behind you as it was taller and wider that the truck. Fuel economy was terrible as you are basically pulling a billboard. The trailer that Brad T has is a sweet rig, and you could haul a tank on it, it's very well built and heavy. It's much more manageable with a smaller vehicle and would probably work well for you. Here is one in the classifieds that looks like it might work http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/943/cat/18 Give a call if you want and we can discuss it a bit. BTW thats a pretty good deal for all the above at the Aluma trailer place. I would definitely think hard on that one, as it would be a good fit for your vehicle
  9. Badumpt Bump
  10. I'm 99% sure that they are NOT interchangeable. If you go to Yamaha's parts site and look for light bars, they are 2 different #'s so I dont think it will work.
  11. Nice machine...but my back wouldn't handle a bike like that
  12. Come on ya big Sissy!!! :rotf:
  13. If I'm not mistaken I believe that Dennis Traynor (Midrsv) in Kentucky has one. You might want to PM him and ask, the piggy backer is a good alternative that works well and is reasonably priced
  14. Welcome to my world 5 weeks since the accident and I really want to go for a ride I'm lucky as I know there are some of the Michigan/Ontario members that have been off their bikes for 3 months
  15. I'll second what Jay said, I can't remember who it was that had the same issue. It turned out that the disc's were not in the correct sequence and once it was installed inline right it worked out fine If you dont have a manual George let me know and I'll get you a copy of the pages with the installation diagrams.
  16. Were coming along, I still am sore and trying to work through it. My rememberer isn't what it used to be, musta hit my head pretty hard Lonna is doing well, she's back to crocheting and thats keeping her occupied. I have a trainer (a friend of ours) working with her 3 times a week as she wants to get into shape. It gets her out of the house as she still isn't supposed to drive....life is good, were still here
  17. Looks clean from the pics, and with 60K on it has a lot of life left in it
  18. Jay, None of us are getting any younger, thats why we pay younger fellas to do it. I wouldn't be ashamed at all, 1 wrong move and you put your back out...then how much would a guy changing it be worth. Your getting wiser as you get older, I'm proud of you buddy
  19. Mike, Thanks for putting this up Bud, sometimes we need to remember what you have mentioned. Don really hated to put that up, but we kinda pressured him into doing it I sent a few sheckles too, I even need to be reminded once in a while
  20. Above freezing and no salt on the road
  21. It's nice and high tech, but $50 I've used an 8 position holder that I mount on top of the battery where the stock one is on the 1st gens. It runs me about $11 but the one your looking at seems to appear very solid
  22. Were just funnin' Sarge Good to have you here with us. I will be buying a ticket as now I have to replace my '99 But I'll gladly pay taxes on it....and ride it home
  23. Well now I know you from your real name and now your Alias Lonna and I still talk about the M&E in Houston with you folks...that was a great time
