  1. I ride solo, on my 03 I never added any air to either the front or rear and enjoyed the ride. Now on my 07 I have found the ride to be a bit on the hard side and just added 6 to the front and 40 to the rear. I'll have to put a few miles on her and see if it makes a differance and possible do some adjusting in the middle.
  2. You only go around once in this life so if you want it buy it. Enjoy the time you have here it's short.
  3. I'm installing Baron 1 1/2" risers on my RSV when they get here, I would think that will fit the TD it's the same bike without all the extras but you might want to call and check with them before ordering. If your in a hurry then don't order from Barons I have been waiting for them to ship mine for 5 days nows. They are not very fast although they are fast in charging your card account and their shipping is well lets say they are taking lessons from some EBay sellers....
  4. I'm not a strainger to tools so I would not have a problem and I have a bench grinder. I would have to buy a polishing wheel. I not sure what you mean when you say "polish it in various stages of Rouge" what's "Rouge" mean? Freebird has a good idea in just buying a set on ebay if you can find a good set at a good price. I have not priced out new parts yet, I'll have to do some looking around and see what I can come up with for new ones, I might be able to work a one time quantity buy.
  5. Whats involved with polishing? How do you go about doing this job? Tartan's forks look Ok from his picture. MamaYama says she can get the lower fork tubes chromed for about $140. MamaYama could you get a price on the uppers for us? Maybe if more people are interested in having them chromed (as a winter job) the chrome shop will give us a package price. It looks like other people have had this idea so maybe kicking it around a bit will work out for us and awnser some questions in the process.
  6. I’m thinking of having the front forks on my 07 chromed. Has anyone ever done this? What might the problems be if I do this mod? It looks like all the parts I would need chromed are listed below. How difficult a job is it on a scale from 1 to 10 to disassemble and reassemble the front forks? I’m used to turning wrenches. SKU: 5MB-23126-00-00 TUBE, OUTER (LEFT) SKU: 5MB-23136-00-00 TUBE, OUTER (RIGHT) SKU: 4NK-23123-10-00 COVER, LOWER (2) SKU: 4XY-23121-10-00 COVER, UPPER (2) Am I forgetting anything or any parts?
  7. If your saying that you have not removed the rear tire before it's not that bad to drop a tire yourself. Is that what you mean?
  8. Sounds like your on the track, that's where I would start looking if you did blow the fuse. Good luck in your hunt sometimes it takes awhile to find these things and other times it jumps out at you.
  9. Bill buy yourself one of those darn trike kits, then you won't have to get used to it.:mo money:

    Gas Price

We should all move to the land of the oil....$0.47 a gallon there. Who said they are just camel jockeys?
  12. We (the better looking half) and I are closing on our new house in Harrington DE tomorrow. Our house hold things won’t be delivered until next Tuesday but at least we will have a permanent address and we can get out of this cracker box we have been in now for almost a month. It will be great to have more then two rooms to move around in. And the dog will be able to go out without a leash and one of us with her. We will also have cable so I will be able to surf the internet a bit faster then a 1st. Gen and an email address. I will have to update me profile so I can receive emails and I look forward to meeting some of you in this area. I should be free and able to go on rides in a week or two. Memorial Day holiday coming up and I will probable be cleaning up the house and yard instead of riding but if anyone is going on a ride let me know by responding to this post and maybe I will be able to talk the wife into letting me out on parole for a day. Can’t wait…
  13. What are you people complaining about? Poor Exxon/Mobil reported they only made around $9 BILLION in profit this past QUARTER....I don't see how these POOR Bas%#$d's can make any headway.
  14. Full Frontal Nudity... I was looking for the pictures....Where's the pictures?
  15. Made the move in one piece. The wife and I successfully made the move from Del Rio Texas to Dover, DE our new home port for awhile I hope. We are staying on base while we close on a house in Harrington, which is just down the road a few miles. This place is like many others in the country, it’s a buyers market. We purchased a 7 year old 2300 sq/ft home on 1 acre for 230k. The original asking price was 302,999.00 but the house sat on the market for 293 days with no lookers. It’s a beautiful home but there’s just not that many people buying now. We looked at about 7 other homes that were originally 300k+ that had been reduced over time by at least 50k. All of the houses we looked at in this price range were beautiful homes in fairly new developments. None were older then 11 years, it’s a bad time to be selling in some areas but a great time to be buying in those area’s. The owners were so happy just to have an offer they never even came back with a counter offer. I fell sorry for the people that have to sell in this market, but it worked out for me because normally I could not afford a 300k house. And I can’t believe the taxes in DE, the taxes on the house we just bought were $1.302.00 in 2007, man I was paying almost 5k on a 210k home in Texas and almost 6k on the house in Illinois. We are hoping to close in about 10 days at least that’s what the realtor is saying. I hope so because my bike is outside with only a cover for protection, at least it’s on the Air Base so security is good, but the first thing I do before bed is make sure it’s still there and it’s the first thing I do in the morning. I will have to update my email address when we are in the house and hooked to high speed. I’m using dial up now and man I must be spoiled because the speed is like a first gen....SLOW!
  16. I had a nail in my new (1600 mile) Dunlop about a month ago when I was in living in Del Rio Texas. I knew it was not a good idea to run a patch in a tubeless tire so I did some checking around with the local mechs in the arae and asked the question here. All of the mechs said it's OK to patch but install a tube. None of the bike shops would patch it but they all told me to bring it to a tire shop. I did and they patched it I now have a patched tire with a tube installed and have put about 500 miles on it with no problem. Others on this site have put thousands of miles on a patched/tubed tire with no problems that I know of. I wouldn't do it if the nail was in the side of the tire but if it's in the tread I think you will be OK but I'M NOT AN EXPERT on this so it's your decision. I'm trying it.
  17. I know this has nothing to do with lighting your plate but I just had to say this because it's my only son. My boy reported this past Sunday to the New York State Troopers Acadamy in Albany for 26 weeks of training. I'm hoping he makes it because being a cop is probable the most important and dangerous occupation you can have on the streets today, and I'm proud of him for making the cut so far.
  18. I don't know how many little wires are in the cable, but any wire can be cut and spiced so I would say yes. Go ahead and cut it, after that let us know the outcome. Any thing new has to first be tried by someone, you could be that someone.... Good luck with it.
  19. What did you do with the first item information? Just a thought....
  20. Same here, it took about 4 hours and was more towards my right shoulder blade, it started off just being a twinge but man was it painfull after 8 hours. I was fine the next day but sure as rain in about 4 hours it started again. I was wondering if it was the bars, now I believe it just may be. I'll have to get a et of extensions and see how they work. Hope to get ride of the pain...
  21. Jay it has been a few years since I wore them but if my memory serves me the sound was OK. Like others have said they get uncomfortable when you wear a helmet (shorty) at least for me they were to the point I stopped using them. Ride safe.
  22. Yup, that's where it goes. Now you can go ride....
  23. I'm not sure what your questions is.... Are you having problems with a specific funtion?
  24. Whats the model # of the Tri-Star module you are installing? I think you have it wired incorrectly but I'm not sure which module you are installing? Once I know this I can tell you which wire goes where.
