  1. Nope! 1200 Wing.
  2. I've seen this before, still amazing. Now if only my video would play without me having to move the cursor on and off the screen to advance the pic.
  3. I've got the Equalean, check my albums, been thinking about selling it ......
  4. OK, spend way too much time going through pages and pages of pegs and boards from numerous manufacturers and looks like I found them. They are made by Big Bike Parts and these look to be the ones: http://www.bigbikeparts.com/Inventory/Navision/21-469?catalogNo=1 Apparently they are made for an 1800 Wing but I know they'll fit on the down brace of the 1st Gen engine guard. Since they do not fit my Valkyrie very well, I'll sell them for $65 including shipping but you will have to buy the replacement extension. (http://www.bigbikeparts.com/Inventory/Navision/21-314?catalogNo=1) You'll wind up with a nice set of boards for almost half the new price. Give me a shout if you're interested! Thanks,
  5. I broke the arm on one of my highway boards. would like to get a replacement but there are no markings on the boards. Anyone recognize the brand? Thanks!
  6. Wasn't me!! Never removed the airbox, actually I have some pictures under my profile about that very thing, 'cause I was worried about the oil in the airbox and the aasembled membership here told me that some oil is normal from the breather line. But then, I never had a problem with the tach surging .....
  7. horn works of the regular horn button. you have a push button that I had my garage door opener hooked in to and the light switch was for thew driving lights. I'd see if the guy you got it from knows where the driving lights went, the brackets they were on can't be had anymore (I should still have the old ones along with other minor stuff you are welcome to) As far as the brackets, look in my albums, you'll figure it out My cell is 444-5880, I work nights (for now)
  8. I could be wrong, but I'm going to suggest that your windshield is two inches shorter, you have three holes/switches in the right side dash next to the false tank cover, your upgraded R/R is on the airbox, you have a metal stub under the right side floor board and there is a block on the frame brace next to the right front cylinder. I'm wondering where the 2 inch driving lights are though:think: And they were on Squidley's brackets! Never could figure out why two of the LED's wouldn't work on the back.
  9. I have a nice set of straight pegs I'll sell you, but what you really want are some longhorn offset ones. The problem with straight pegs is that unless you are really long legged, you'll want them on the horizontal bar from the engine guard which will make them point forward just a tad. Placing them on the vertical support for the engine guard will place them slightly out of reach and onle leaves the outside half usable. At least for my 32inch inseam.

I recently bought one to replace my Scorpion full face with which I took a nose dive. Haven't made any major trips but based on some of my few short trips here's my observation: This is supposed to be a heavy helmet but coming from my FF Scorpion I can't tell much difference (yet) The locking mechanism for the modular is metal on metal and seems easy to operate it has a chin wind curtain which does not seem removable. The chin bar is bigger then I am used to, though the instrument cluster still falls above the bar so I do not need to look down. It has a build in sun visor. The vents are great, I can actually feel air flowing over my head from the top vents (chin vent is below the windshield), as long as my face shield is not full open! There is an access panel which can be removed for a bluetooth module/headset. The helmet is noisier then a FF, but I read that going in. shield up it seems comparable to my old FF, but the further down the shield the more noise. So far I have three things which I am not real happy with: there are only three detents in the visor: 1/4, 1/2 and full open. you can not open the shield 3/4 (it really needs one) of the way which would put the bottom of the shield above your line of sight. Both the sunvisor and the shield seem to be thinner than I am used to and they vibrate when riding, and with both visors down(face shield either 1/4 or 1/2) the bottom edge of each shield seems to be interfering somewhat with my view of the instrument cluster because 1. it's there and 2 due to the vibration. I bought it at MC superstore on closeout in my size for $169. Overall I am not dissatisfied with it though I would argue that my FF fit me better. FWIW
  12. I've been trying to get the screw under the trunk latch of my I/S out, the sumbich ain't moving! Tried the regular screw driver, didn't work. Tried heating the nut beforehand, didn't work. Tried grinding a bigger slot in the head so i could get a BMF screwdriver in there, no luck. Tried grinding the sides of the screw down so I could get a wrench on there, didn't work either. Seems like that thing is welded in there http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/Smileys/actions/tickedoff.gif http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/Smileys/actions/tickedoff.gifhttp://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/Smileys/actions/tickedoff.gif So how do I get this POS out of there short of grinding the whole head down? Thanks,
  13. Actually, ... Round Up MAY kill it depending on how long the thing has been there. If you cut the tree down and build a deck over the stump you'll be spraying quite awhile! If this is a fairly new sprout, spray it, wait a couple of weeks and remove a plank to pull the dead sapling. Unless you want to look at a cut of branch for the next ten years. 'Course you can skip the whole round up thing and just yank it from the get go.
  14. .................. hmm! I had one on my Shadow and found that it transferred pressure to a different point of the wrist. I had a thumb lock on my 1st Gen which I used extensively and now I have the Kuryaken cramp busters on both sides on my Valk. I'll be adding some Throttlemeisters to it before it's all over, being able to drop your right hand at times is very nice,
  15. Just bought some the other day and that stuff will only increase my per gallon cost by about 30 cents , cheaper to find straight gas which is only 20 cents per gallon more:rain2:. I've tried to find the advertised 25% increase in mpg's with straight gas but had no luck, maybe my calculator was broke
  16. Can't say I have Joe, I've been to Whitewater Falls, but it's been awhile. Doesn't help Brenda does not like hiking
  17. We've made a loop which included hwy 28 in SC as well. Awesome ride, though the section on Hwy 25 between home and Greenwood is kinda boring (4 lane rural), Here's the link: http://rideplanner.harley-davidson.com/rideplanner/share/358148 Come to think of it, maybe be an option for this weekend
  18. Should what, the glasses, or the helmet???:D:D
  19. No, not the hard way, I just did that but as a result I really should replace my helmet, so I'm thinking helmets are tested to see if they meet DOT standards, but how much more can they handle? I realize there is a point where it doesn't matter how strong the helmet is, 'cause you're going to be dead. A $60 helmet and a $600 helmet both meet DOT standards, all I've found so far is that the more expensive helmet is going to be quieter, more comfortable and may (or may not) fit better. Someone who wears a helmet when he/she has to to cross state lines for a couple of hours will buy the cheapo one, I'm more interested in protecting my noggin best I can, so is there a study which actually compares fail values for various helmets so that you can see whether you pay for the name, or if a specific helmets actually has better protection value along with comfort and fit. :scratchchin: Oh, I'm thinking a modular if it will allow me to put it on and take it of without having to remove my glasses (titanium frame)
  20. For me anyway, spoke with the senior adjuster this morning and he called Foothills. The manager called me at around 1040 this a.m. said he talked to the adjuster and what they would have to do, then told me everything was taken care of and I could come get my bike, tag and title. 'Course the tag was on the bike so that should never have been an issue. Thanks for the support and feedback! Barend
  21. To clarify, since several of you are misunderstanding, I think. I bought the Valk about two months ago and contacted the dealer because I had not received my title yet. They told me they had been calling me (at a number which was not even close to mine, don't know where they got it), because they had a problem getting my title. from what I gather the bike came out of GA, was sold to a HD dealer in SC who sold it to a guy who then traded it in at Foothills Motorsport in Piedmont SC. The bike was not retitled by any of those and DMV wanted to physically see the bike before issuing a new title. So I dropped the bike of to get them to fix that little problem and get me a title. There were no repairs involved and I paid cash for the bike. From what I gather they had to make two trips to the DMV to get it straightened out and they now have a title in my name at the office (I'm told) I already called my attorney but haven't heard back from him and his office is closed on Friday's. I should hear from the adjuster tomorrow.
  22. when I still didn't have my title after two months I contacted the dealer, which claimed they had been calling me ... on a number I never gave them, but that's a different story. Anyway, I wound up telling them that I would drop the bike of so they could fix this problem, but what would they give me to ride wile they did? That turned out to be a 02 (?) Wing. Not a bad ride, though it had a slight head shake and not something I would want as a daily rider, problem is, driving home this morning I had a situation and the the bike wound up going down the road without me. This is where the problem starts. I called the insurance and got a claim number, I called the dealer and passed on the information and made arrangements to bring the Wing over there. I would have preferred to ride it over to get my own bike back (they have the title now), but hey, I'm mostly OK, so I shouldn't complain. Anyhow, they won't give me my bike! They want me to pay them the difference between the suddenly diminished value of my Valk I/S and this Wing (2500) OR, they want a check from the insurance company. At the same time they already started pushing for me to buy the Wing using the Valk and the insurance money and then I can fix it or have them fix it. They are claiming they did not have insurance on it for me to drive it?! They are also saying that this Wing was under contract and the guy was making payments. I just want my Valk and I just don't see that they can deny me that at this point. Suggestions?? As far as what I can see on the Wing: forks/handlebar twisted/bent, fairing pushed back/cracked/scraped, mirrors, right exhaust, right crash and bag bar, possibly front rim. http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/Themes/SSVR/images/icons/modify_inline.gif
  23. My wife had a platinum CapitalOne credit card, last year she paid of the balance and called on the same day to tell them to close the account. The woman she talked to, said that that was no problem, got all the security confirmation to close the account and told her to cut up the card and mail it in along with a written request confirming the phone conversation. You know where this is going, don't you? Lo and behold she gets a statement which she obviously ignored because the account is closed, right?! Apparently not, they went ahead and assessed their annual membership fee and then started charges late pay fees. By the thhe time we figure out wat is what, they are claiming she owes almost $150. So she calls and is told the account couldn't be closed because it should be in writing , we already did that I believe, but, i went ahead and wrote a nice letter requesting the account be closed, because she was told that would take care of it, the balance erased and the account would be closed. Wrong!!!!! :doh:We get a letter stating that the account needs to be closed by talking to a representative :confused07::confused07:. So I call Brenda, who is visiting her mother and tell her what they said, she calls them, explains the whole thing for the, what, fifth time and is told accounts can only be closed in writing :bang head::bang head: I think we've been there??? She talked to them again last night and was told she did not notify them to close the account in a timely manner (I guess the day you pay of the balance is not timely enough) and therefore acquired the annual fee, of course they won't close the account with an open balance either. I got three words: WTF?????
  24. Nope It's a Valkyrie wannabe! If I remember correctly, Wim used to own a Wing, guess he stepped down ......
  25. I'd probably plan on most or all interstate, it would allow me to keep my speed up. I'd make sure I had a comfortable seat, a backrest and highway pegs/boards. I'd want some type of throttle lock or cruise. I'd give myself time to train for LD rides to build endurance. I'd make sure I was physically fit. I'd consider a camelback for hydration. But mostly I'd consider taking two days, no sense in killing yourself (figuratively)only to be useless for the next two days recovering.
